Glee (2009)
See the appeal but there are many flaws.
While I acknowledge the show's merits, such as its engaging musical performances and its willingness to tackle relevant social issues, I can't help but notice its flaws. The characters often feel exaggerated and overly dramatic, detracting from the overall narrative. Additionally, the inconsistent writing leaves many plot points feeling disjointed and nonsensical. Personally, I find the show's lack of sophistication and occasional cringeworthy moments disappointing, especially considering its impact on modern television programming. It's disheartening to see a potential for greatness overshadowed by these shortcomings, ultimately leaving me questioning the direction of contemporary entertainment.
Glenn Martin DDS (2009)
Interesting Animation Occasional Funny Moments and Mid Writing
I have recently been introduced to Glen Martin DDS as I was watching a video of channel surfing 2009. I searched the show up on Google and found that the first season was officially on YouTube with the second season being on Tubi. After watching the first season, I have to say that it's underrated. For one I enjoy the animation style and I think it's rather intriguing and new compared to the traditional ways of animation. The writing is simple but also somewhat sophisticated at the same time. The jokes are alright but can be a bit to reliant on crude/potty humor, however there are some clever political, social, cultural references throughout the program. That being said there are some scenes in this show that wouldn't fly in today's climate, most notably a scene where one of the main characters calls a transgender women a "he/she" a term that is quite offensive and insulting to members of the LGBTQ community, there's also quite a bit of homophobic jokes in it so yeah.
On content side of things, this was aired on NICK@NIGHT, a programing block on nickelodeon aimed at teens and young adults. Though there was some controversy with it originally airing at 7:30pm especially with it being aired right after SpongeBob despite containing crude and suggestive humor, sexual situations, course language (damn, ass, piss) and somewhat graphic violence. The show is rated TV:PG DLSV, however I would say that this program is more so TV:14 due to both the overt and frequent sexual references and the violence that can be quite gruesome at times.
Overall a decent program with some issues.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
weak and at times boring
I've watched this film opening night, when watching the movie I thought it was just medico. The film relied on mostly comedic gags, which were barely funny. The action scenes were uneventful, with my sister falling asleep during the middle of the movie. So yeah, Thor: Love and Thunder is one of the weaker entries in the MCU.
iCarly (2021)
Meh
Good show, but damn the jokes can be boring, writing that doesn't add much enjoyment. It just feels like your run of the mill program you find on a broadcast tv network like CBS.
Stranger Things (2016)
Awesome Sci-Fi horror show that brings back 80s vibes
It's one helluva ride, with intense and scary creatures, great acting and a engaging story line that you will enjoy.
It brings lots of nostalgia for those who grew up in the 80s with dungeons and dragons, asthestics.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Damn this movie is good!
I have just recently watched Top Gun Maverick, and I have to say it was great. The acting was top notch especially with Tom Cruise, The cinematography was beautiful, all the action scenes was badass and it had a feel-good vibe that sucks you right into it.
That being said it's a great film that people of all ages will enjoy.
Rugrats (2021)
GIVE IT A CHANCE YOU MIGHT ENJOY IT
Although its not the best sure I watched it's pretty good. We have most of the same voice cast although some have been replaced. It's not as good as the original but what can you expect it's been 15 years since the og show was airing.
The animation is different but I actually like it better as it adds a whole new depth to the show.
There were some moments that were entertaining.
I also like how they take the universe into modern times so they can appeal to a whole new generation of children.
Overall I would recommend watching the first couple of episodes just to see if you enjoy it.
