Leave the World Behind (2023)
Unintentionally funny
What can I say. This movie was terrible. There were so many parts that weren't meant to be funny, but I was laughing out loud at how bad it was. The close up of the deer standing around a character as if they're ready to attack was so stupid. Why would deer act like that in any circumstance? Also why would every Tesla drive themselves to a random spot just to crash into each other? Makes no sense.
The son pulling out his teeth and having zero emotional reaction was so bad. This movie was bad on almost every level and every scene. I would give it zero stars if I could. The actors reactions and the situations feel like this was written either by AI. I Highly don't recommend.
They Called Him Mostly Harmless (2024)
Pretty lame
This was a boring documentary. It takes most of the documentary to find out who this guy is, then you find out with 20 minutes left and the result of what you find out about him isn't shocking. It's just a really dumb result and I don't expect anyone to make a film about this anytime soon. Don't watch it. You don't need to waste an hour and a half of your life. If you're curious, just Google it and you can find out in 5 minutes about the guy and I promise that result is not shocking or even worthwhile.
I hope Max can come up with better documentaries in the future, and now I need to figure out how to get that hour and a half of my life back. I'm just glad I'm not like these internet sleuths who've wasted years of their lives trying to find out who this guy is. They're living their lives for this guy and not themselves. That's the real tragedy of this doc.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
Tries too hard to be a comedy
Not funny. The jokes are way too over the top, and who likes screaming goats anymore? So annoying! When the story gets serious, it's really good and I love all the Christian Bale storyline, but I hate hate the forced comedy. I think it's time for a new director if there are any future Thor projects. There are also dumb cameos that don't need to be in it. I laughed zero times when they showed up. Phase four of the MCU has been hit and miss and this one was mostly a miss compared to others in phase four, with Shang Chi and Spider-Man being the strongest in my opinion. Eternals was the worst, but this one was not too far off.
Pinocchio (2022)
Loved it!
This was probably my favorite animated film to live action Disney has done so far. True to the classic animated film, this movie had heart, and didn't feel like just another soulless Disney remake as of recently. I highly recommend it! Disney has been a disappointment lately for me with forced messaging and feeling like rather focusing on entertaining they opt to focus on politics in everything, but this is not one of those moments. I hope they continue to make more great content like this.
Tom Hanks is a treasure in this and is terrific as Gepetto. I'm always a big fan of Keegan-Michael Key, so it's always fun to hear his voice.
Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022)
Loved it!
This movie was awesome! It's my 90's childhood wrapped in a bow, and I applaud Disney for this film. Hilarious, and even moving. This is a win! If you grew up with the original, definitely give this a watch.
Cheaper by the Dozen (2022)
Not as political as people say
I thought this movie was better than the Steve Martin version. A lot of complaints on here about it being too political, and I'm definitely not a fan of blatant political agenda's in movies. It had some moments, but was definitely not over the top like past Disney movies of late. Had some good messages, some funny stuff on occasion, and was pretty on par with the Steve Martin movie in terms of quality. I just liked this one better.
Survivor: Ready to Play Like a Lion (2021)
Dumb woke
, it is racism. You're basing an alliance on race, meaning you don't consider yourselves equals with another race and want to form an alliance based on your race who you consider yourself to be equal with. I haven't watched Survivor this season, and I'm glad I haven't.
Just Beyond (2021)
Loved it!
I didn't really see much wholeness that some people have talked about. If there was it was subtle enough for me me to not notice or care. Totally felt like I was watching modern day Goosebumps! I got thrown back into my 90's childhood. We'll done!
Survivor: A New Era (2021)
Dumb. Don't care about agenda
Too much agenda. Not enough game focus. There's aspects that are good, but the show is missing the mark.
My Unorthodox Life (2021)
Reality tv at its worst
This is not reality tv. I have no idea why this exists.
WandaVision (2021)
I love this show!
This show is amazing. I'm never going to look at these characters the same again when watching them in an MCU film. I love seeing them in these old style sitcom situations, and the mystery behind it all. So unique, which is what the MCU needs right now. A good change of pace from the cookie cutter stories we've gotten used to.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Loved this movie!
This movie wrapped up the Star Wars saga perfectly! I applaud Disney/Lucasfilm for listening to us fans and giving us a movie that pays tribute to the Star Wars fan base!
SparkShorts: Purl (2018)
Garbage
Yet another PoCo propaganda film from Disney. I swear (speaking of swearing, this short swears, which is really weird), nowadays watching anything current from Disney, you can't just be entertained anymore. There has to be some political agenda they're trying to shove down our throats!
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)
Loved it!
This movie is one of my all time favorite movies. After watching it I can't help but have a feel-good feeling. It's inspiring, funny, and just makes me want to go out and live my life to the fullest. Ben Stiller did an amazing job with this film! I didn't quite know what to expect, because I'm used to Ben Stiller's other films that are more zany comically, but this movie has it all. Comedy, action, and even quite a bit of drama. Ben Stiller should be proud of this one!
