Transmission Towers in Shot
20 January 2022
At 31:59 you can clearly see 3 electricity transmission towers in the distance. These could easily have been edited out, or the shot taken from a different angle.

Ex Federal Marshall in protective custody comes out to save his daughter from her criminal grandfather.
5 September 2017
This is a fast paced action thriller with an anticipated twist, that is fairly well acted by Adkins, James Cosmo (of Braveheart fame) and WWE's Wade Barret.

Like stylish action thrillers since Bourne, it sees the protagonist as a fallen American hero in London. In Keeping with the zeitgeist, our hero and villain are tech savy and expertly trained in hand to hand combat. There is of course homage to the genre in the form of high speed antics in a classic German 'whip' (in this case a beautiful example of a 1984 BMW 635 csi). Night action around famed London landmarks adds to the element.

There is some empathy inducing, partial blurring of the good/bad divide through the character of the grandfather, but not the sort of moral dilemma that will hold attention after the credits role.

Certainly watchable, if more so for the visuals than the dialogue, and fairly engaging. The action choreography was quite decent and, as someone who has been on that side of production, lending a sense of 'believable' to the fight sequences.

Better than a Sunday afternoon 'fighty film'.

A marine returns home to a post apocalyptic wasteland of a life.,.
3 September 2017
Shia pulls off an intense performance as a marine who returns home after a traumatic experience in Afghanistan, only to find his home life shattered.

The exploration of his traumatization is well scripted and well acted. The film includes performances from Gary Oldman, Kate Mara, and Jai Courtney. It is well acted, well scripted and hard hitting on an emotional level. The directing and final edit leave something to be desired, however. One can see how a re-edit could have led this film to a decent showing. As it stands, it was never going to be a crowd pleaser. It is engaging and has a twist that will have you thinking about the plight of the marine.

To be watched critically more than mind soothing entertainment.

Cobra(Stallone) meets Mad Max in the Wild West with Zombies
31 August 2017
Johnny Strong (Black Hawk Down, Sinners and Saints) plays uberhero Rourke from New York who finds himself down in Texas in a post- apocalyptic zombie infested wild west. Roaming the desert highways in a big block V8 1970 Plymouth Road Runner - Mad Maxed out - Rourke rescues the damsel in distress (Texas Style of course) and joins a group of survivors. Zombie hunting ensues with epic gun action.

Surprisingly engaging for a Sunday afternoon action flick.
