Love Again (I) (2023)

Disappointing
21 September 2023
I'm a fan of Rom Coms but this did not deliver. Sam Heughan is adorable but has no chemistry with Pryanka Chopra. He had better chemistry with Celine Dion. Celine is the highlight of the movie with her acting and music! The premise of the movie is forced and some of the situations make no sense. It was easy to predict how all this would unfold and I begrudgingly watched it until the end. I'm afraid that the casting was all wrong. No disrespect to Pryanka, but I enjoyed her scenes with Joe Jonas more than the storyline with Sam. It's as if neither Sam nor Pryanka had their heart in this project.

Beautiful Story
20 May 2023
Such a beautiful and emotional love story. We get a glimpse of the back stories of Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury and Lady Violet. I didn't want it to end and when it did, I was in tears. I love the representation of all the female lead actresses. Such a display of strength, determination, and self-worth. If you're a hopeless, romantic, and Bridgerton fan, then this series is definitely for you. You will be enchanted by the wigs, costumes, palace, and fabulous galas. The acting is spot on, and we are convinced about all the characters' motivation to succeed in this society. Of course, there is another wonderful soundtrack to accompany the series.

Slow and tedious
9 February 2023
Trudging along with this series and hoping for something that keeps me interested. This is certainly not as good as The Walking Dead which has an array of great characters, acting and special effects. There are landscapes and plots in this show that are straight out of the Walking Dead.

I'm four episodes in and losing interest quickly. I really like Pedro Pascal and we can see him building a relationship with his travel partner, but it's moving too slow without many answers. The episodes are disjointed and go back and forth between periods of time. It's hard to follow or care how some of these characters are connected.

Beautiful and sad

Warning: Spoilers
I loved this wonderful series. It's so authentic and filled with so many heartfelt sentiments. I'm glad I watched it but you must be warned that it is the saddest thing I have seen for a very long time. The acting is spot on. I fell in love with all of these characters. I love the authentic Italian actors and listening to their Italian dialect. The family dynamics for both main characters are spectacular. The scenery is amazing and you are transported to Florence, and Sicily at different times of the story. You feel as if you are a part of this family struggling with their loss and rebirth. Beautiful to watch but oh so sad.

Loved it!
19 June 2022
From the reviews, perhaps you have to be Hispanic to really appreciate this movie. I am Cuban and I loved every minute of it. It was genuine and very relatable. Perhaps the negative reviews come from people that just don't understand the culture. It was funny and quite touching. It is certainly a modern version of the original and not at all like the Steve Martin version. Just pretend it's a whole new movie and enjoy it.

I enjoyed this as I have the other Harlan Coban series. It kept my interest and I had no clue what the outcome would be. You do have to pay attention as there is a lot going on and plenty of characters. The ending was satisfying and unexpected. Glad I watched despite the mixed reviews.

Disappointed
16 January 2022
I will not rehash what has already been said in other reviews which is true, they have thrown every current issue at this show. It is exhausting to watch. In addition, they have made Steve and Harry the butt of so many jokes. When did these characters become buffoons? And, I challenge you to find one happy character in this entire series. No one is happy! This makes me very unhappy to be watching a show so devoid of any sort of joy. It has led me to go back and watch the original. It certainly had much more happiness and optimism.

In Love With Love

Another success for Gloria Kellett. She has a fantastic way of depicting the Latin community, so much so that I see myself and my family in this show. She's accurate and sensitive with these characters, who like the rest of us, are navigating relationships. I didn't want it to end as I was so invested in all the characters and their storylines. Binge worthy.

A trip down memory lane
26 December 2021
I watched I Love Lucy as a child and have always been a fan. I lived through the headlines and the stories surrounding this very popular show and the marriage of Lucy and Desi . This movie was powerful and so very well acted. Both Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are consummate professionals and fully embraced their roles. I was fully invested in the story and enjoyed it tremendously.

Fast forward
11 December 2021
Watched it while I was doing my Christmas cards. It was hard to take this movie too seriously. It was really not funny and not entertaining. But I muddled through it and fast forwarded a few times. One of the most hilarious things was Elizabeth Hurley pretending to be way younger than she currently is. It was hard to know what direction this movie was taking and the ride was not very pleasurable.

Sweet and Nostalgic

Certainly the show is not for everyone and not everyone will appreciate it's sweet tone. I am a Spanish speaker so the show is easier for me to enjoy. It took me away to another place and time and I am thoroughly on board. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Thoroughly enjoy this show. It was a departure from what I've seen recently. Kept me guessing until the end. Not sure why there are so many haters. I did not find it slow, boring or confusing.

Perhaps I really enjoyed the show because of my Hispanic heritage. I felt like I was watching my own family. This is a lovely story about a close knit family. If you're in the mood for a love story like you've never seen before, this show is for you. We need a second season!! Their story is not finished!

Well written
11 March 2021
Ignore the haters and enjoy the messages in this film as there are plenty. Yes, there are scenes that are exaggerated for affect. Sometimes you have to beat people over the head in order to get them to understand the point. Those of you who said you have never seen this in a high school setting, well congratulations. I was in high school 30 years ago and what was happening then is still happening now. If you've never experienced it, then your privilege is showing. Amy Poehler did a great job and I loved the role she played. Really enjoyed the film.

I liked it
6 March 2021
I may be the only one, but I found the movie funny and true to the original. What was anyone expecting? It was a goofy premise to begin with. The silliness continues in the second movie. I was impressed by the cameos and great costumes. It's tough to come back 30 years later with a sequel. There were plenty to smile and enjoy about this movie.

Struggled through it

Warning: Spoilers
I was thoroughly enjoying the first two episodes. The music was good the flashbacks were good and it was set during the time when I grew up so I could relate to the times. Then I started to lose interest halfway through. It seem like the same situations kept occurring with predictable outcomes. I did not read the book but a few folks have said it didn't particularly follow the book. I finished it because I was already committed. However by the end I couldn't muster up any more empathy for Tully. I wanted to see more of the relationship between Kate and Bobby. Perhaps that is coming in the second season. As folks have already said, it was clichéd and didn't offer any new perspectives on friendships. I also have issues with the makeup on the actresses. Yikes! Tully's mom in her older years looks like she's wearing a bad Halloween costume.

It's Complicated
21 January 2021
I gave it a try after reading the reviews. The cast is great but the story is a mess! Parts kept me interested but by the end I was wondering the objective of the story. I couldn't understand why some things happened and why others didn't. Not trying to give away the plot at all. This script needed focus! I cannot recommend it.

Lovely movie
28 December 2020
Stop comparing it to the animated version and just enjoy this movie for what it is. It is a heartwarming movie of a female warrior wanting to protect the emperor and bring honor to her family. It is an enjoyable fantasy with heroes and villains. There are great special effects and plenty of enjoyable moments. Not sure why there were so many negative comments. Only those wanting an identical replica of the original will be disappointed.

Nothing like I've seen before and I was enchanted. Great performances in this original story about a chess prodigy. I'm not a chess player but the story is so much more and worth the journey!

Not everyone's cup of tea
18 September 2020
Not everyone's cup of tea but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am an American who appreciates British comedy and this did not disappoint. To all the folks giving it low marks and saying it's not realistic, IT'S A COMEDY and a tv show, not a Documentary. The show was refreshing and quite funny. I didn't have to think about much, just enjoyed it for what it was.

Captivating

This series is incredibly well written and acted. I didn't want it to end! It is suspenseful, heartfelt and thought provoking. The characters are believable and invoke quite a spectrum of emotions. I highly recommend this series. I did turn on the captions as some of the English and Scottish accents were tough to understand. This was an overall terrific crime series.

Watch something else!
19 July 2020
I really wanted to like this movie. It started off well, it had some good moments and some laughs. I was so excited! Then it just went off the rails big time. I couldn't figure out where this movie was going and what it wanted to be, but the laughter stopped and it was down right dumb! I had to fast forward just to see how it would end. Very disappointed at this mess of a movie.

Hooray for Hollywood
6 May 2020
I was transported back to the hey day of Hollywood in this appealing series. This is not a documentary, folks! It is a fictional story about the Hollywood we never knew. It's beautiful and moving and there are some outstanding performances!! If you are homophobic, this series is not for you! I enjoyed every minute of this larger than life piece which has many satirical qualities. They should expect a few acting nominations at Emmy time.

I enjoyed this rom com which had some very funny moments. Great date movie. Keanu Reeves was hysterical! While some of it was predictable, the movie had some substance and touching moments. Many fun characters and good performances.

Watched the entire season in one weekend. My hubby was out of town and it was the perfect dramedy for me. Fantastic acting and writing. I didn't want it to end. Even when you feel you can predict the outcomes, you are surprised and delighted! This series is a winner!!
