ThunderCats Roar
9 March 2020
Alright. Let's talk about ThunderCats Roar. So many people are attacking this show because of how different it is from the 1985 and 2011 versions, but I decided to look at it from another approach.

As far as the plot goes, it what you'd expect from the original: The ThunderCats home world was destroyed so they move to new earth to defeat the evil Mumm-Ra and his gang. So, yeah the plot is familiar but everything else about the show is the downfall.

The humor in this show is very immature and not funny, the characters are misrepresented, and the visuals, while colorful to look at, are a downgrade from the 2011 reboot.

On a positive note, the show does have the same music from the original and the voice acting is actually not bad.

Overall, ThunderCats Roar is a huge disappointment for fans of the original and it is crystal clear why many people despise it so much.

The Lion King (2019)
6/10
Nice Visuals, Lazy Writting.
2 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
First off, I want to say that the original Lion King was an absolute masterpiece. Some of the most interesting animated films Disney has ever made. Even up to this day, this film is still considered to be a classic, which begs the question, why does this reboot exist?

The Lion King reboot is nothing but a tired, lazy film that totally misses everything that made the original so enjoyable. Let me start by saying that the visuals in this film are really good. The Cgi was so good that all the animals looked like they were actually there. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the rest of the movie.

While the cgi does look great, none of the characters express any emotion. They all just have that blank stare on their faces. A perfect example would be Mufasa's death. No emotion what so ever. Most of the songs in this film is like the original, but what disappointed me was the "Be Prepared" song. I don't know why they shorten it.

Now the acting. I'm glad James Earl Jones reprised his role as Mufasa, but he just sound tired with the script. Donald Glover as Adult Simba wasn't too bad. Timon and Pumba are the highlight of this movie. Whenever they were on screen, the put a smile on my face. Now Nala. Oh boy. Beyonce was a poor casting choice for Nala. I just didn't find her convincing like the original.

As for the dialogue, most of it is just word for word from the original, which makes the film lackluster. It doesn't try to make anything new. At least the Aladdin reboot tried to follow the story while offering something new.

Overall, the movie is visually good, but the script was lazy, the characters are unexpressive, and the voice acting is mostly tired. So my final score for this is a six out of ten. It's best to just stick with the original instead.

Proud Mary (2018)
3/10
Overly generic.
16 January 2018
While Taraji P. Henson shines as the lead role, Proud Mary is simply a thinly written, chopily edited, and overly predictable action film.

What started off as a classic, nostalgic feel, is now every other action film cliche that we have seen countless times.

Again, Taraji is really the only actress who was able to save this film.

Like most kids movies....
3 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
It has all the clichés: You have the imaginary world filled with imaginary people. The protagonist has a society that is different from everyone else. You have the supporting characters that are both made for laughs and love interests. And above all, their is an exciting adventure to reach to the conclusion of the story. Of course the kids might enjoy these types of films, but adults will find it stupid and predictable.

Battlefield America
20 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The dance sequences were enjoyable, but the story is a bit cliché and lazy. It has that "Teacher/Student" bond that we've seen before in other films which helped the kids be successful in the end.The acting isn't half bad, but the editing felt rushed only to get to the good parts rather than trying to dive in more on the character's lives. This seems like a more ghetto, dramatic, kid version of "You Got Served." Not a bad movie, but needs to be better.

Not So Good.....
20 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
To it's credit, the dancing in this film is amazing, but it doesn't make up for how bad it really is. The plot is predictable, the acting is sloppy, the writing is beyond lousy and the editing is all over the place. This film focused more on choreography rather than trying to create a decent film. The only people who "Got Served" are the ones who had to watch this.

Ben 10 (2016–2021)
2/10
Wow. Just wow.
8 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Lazy writing, bad character redesign, boring animation. Why fix what wasn't broken? This is a complete slap to the face to those who grew up watching the real Ben 10. Why does cartoon Network insist on messing up their old shows? This will soon be forgettable just like the Powerpuff Girls and Be Cool, Scooby Doo. It's trash.
