Alison's Choice (2015)
About what I expected
As soon as I saw that the movie was free on a YouTube channel called "Christian Movies", I already knew pretty much exactly how the movie was going to go. What I didn't expect in this movie was how bizarre it is. It's kind of entertaining, I wasn't expecting to be able to get all the way through to the end. Unfortunately, this movie takes place entirely at an abortion clinic, so the setting is less than interesting. We do get some location changes in the form of flashbacks or dreams, but they're fleeting moments. God is a character and this God in the movie is actively telling Alison what choice to make. One would think if literal God showed up and told you not to abort your baby, you wouldn't have to spend an hour and a half thinking about it. Peppered throughout this film are comically evil medical staff, black stereotypes, tons of misinformation, and scenes of God emotionally manipulating Alison. Not a single character does anything surprising in this movie. Most of the scenes go on for too long and it's not worth watching again, let alone once.
This movie is only good for people who already agree with the message, not a general audience.
The Omen (1976)
Great film!
I really enjoyed the relationship between Kathy and Robert! I could really feel that they loved each other. Kathy's instinct on the child was very interesting, considering she would've had no way of knowing that the child wasn't her's.
The movie starts up right away and doesn't mess around with the pacing! The governess commits suicide in a bizarre way, leaving you hungry for the rest of the movie. And the new governess is mysterious as the last one's death, almost as if this new governess organized the suicide herself. I also loved the preacher's foreshadowed death, although it seemed like he had plenty of time to move out of the way. Maybe it was just the way it was edited.
I wanted so badly for Robert's character to succeed! Takes a good movie to make me want a child to die haha.
The Legend of Korra: Beginnings, Part 2 (2013)
Extremely boring.
I was waiting the whole episode to get back to Korra. I don't care about Wan and I don't care about Naava. I thought the Avatar was neutral, balanced. Turns out the Avatar is literally Jesus.
The Legend of Korra: Beginnings, Part 1 (2013)
Dismantles everything the original series stood for
The best way to ruin a show with strong Buddhist influence is to introduce God and the Devil. It also contradicts pre-established lore of the first series. Not to mention, this episode is extremely boring.
Adam (2019)
Honestly, boring
Once you get past the inaccuracies of the dynamic between lesbians and transgender men, it's clear that this movie is just straight up boring. The protagonist is boring, the plot is boring, and the way the movie is shot is boring. Just not worth watching, in my opinion.
