Dai zek lo (2003)
An underrated film with Strong Impact
it has been a long time watching film doesn't leave any strong feelings to me... I left feeling conflicted, yet enlightened.. Perhaps one of the best Andy Lau's best performance in his acting career. Cecilia Cheung did a good job as well. There were some good action and a bit romantic scenes, there were some "strong' scenes that makes me freaked out as well, but I think it i necessary. The script and plot is great. Please make sure you watch the HK version not the Chinese cut. Go and watch for the experiences.

Exciting, Visually Beautiful
The plot is quite simplistic but the main purpose of a movie is to keep you entertained and this film did a pretty good job. The group of thieves characters are interesting enough they made you stands on their side while hoping the mission succeeded. The cinematography is beautiful and smooth, nicely paced. Stephen Fung brought some fresh air to China films. Would look forward to the sequel since it looks promising.

Epic War Sequence
The war sequence is amazing. It's full of brute force and shows the desperation of the soldiers. It is very realistic, just more dramatic. There are a lots lots of extras. Perhaps it's the first time I had seen that the war sequence represents the numbers of casualties mentioned. The war and fight is fast, it doesn't look choreographed. Instead, it looks violent and brutal.
Jet Li gives decent acting here. Andy Lau got great role he deserved unlike in "House of Flying Daggers." Any Lau fans could tell he gave different performance this time. With all the blood, violence, brotherhood, man pride, and politics, I could say, a very "masculine" film.
Am zin (1999)
Great Script
The story is smart and they paint it with a smart storyboard. Not much martial arts, just like cat and mouse playing their tricks to each other. A bit of romance but still cute enough. Not many dialogue, you need to pay attention while watching or you won't get it. Kinda fresh if you compared it with another Johnnie To's films.

Chinese Folks + Fantasy + Martial Arts + Sherlock Holmes
Great concept. It has potential to be a big franchise. A lot of creativity poured here. The action sequences, the setting, the weapons, a lot of creative stuffs can be found here. Detective Dee is such an interesting character. The other characters had their likable traits as well. Conclusion : Creative concept. Awesome universe. Cool settings. Simple, nice story. Good actors. Great characters.

Leave a Trace in My Heart
It's about life of a man who changed drastically after he loses everything. To watch this film is a spiritual journey. Makes me think about my own life, people I love in this mortal world, about secular desire, mortality, and my own fear of death. The monks are those with no fear of losing anything. They're not fear of losing matters, families, or even their own lives. But they do understand people. They fight for people so the people won't experience those loses.
The actors and actress act really good. Perhaps the best of Andy Lau on his career. They successed to make me emotional through some scenes. The combination of the story, acting, dialogue, pictures, and soundtrack are beautiful. The soundtrack (the ending song) itself is beautiful if you understand the meaning. If you interested in the lyrics, here it is in English ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5cLjfBwDCE )
Conclusion : beautiful, heart-touching, religious, humanize the audiences
