Chinjeolhan geumjassi (2005)
still haven't found a better film.
Really intelligent and interesting narrative. Also incredibly funny if you understand Korean dark humor. If you don't, you might not love this.
Mr. Robot: 410 Gone (2019)
the greatest distribution of wealth
Doesn't Darlene understand that if you give everyone a lot of money, then that money isn't worth that much anymore? other than that, okay episode. kind of disappointing honestly. don't think anyone watched Mr. robot for the melodrama.
Lost: The End: Part 1 (2010)
a lot of stupid people watch tv
But you have to extremely stupid to think that after watching this finale, that they were dead the whole time. such a great ending
The Walking Dead: Killer Within (2012)
Worst episode so far
Binge watching the show and I am shocked at how poorly done this episode was . Everything feels rushed and done to force the viewers to cry.
A lot of convenient moments- once again they didn't see the zombie horde behind them, t dog somehow gets bitten even though he knows there are zombies all around him, Carl not able to go and get help for Lori, even though the zombies are probably gone...
I also don't understand that some choices these leaders make "Rick not trusting the prisoners, governor killing those army men" are viewed as "wrong". People, this is a zombie apocalypse. For survival , you need leaders who make choices like these. Morals are out of the window in a situation like this. Same thing about season 2. Why are they upset that Rick killed Shane and toughened up?? Makes no sense.
Raised by Wolves: The Beginning (2020)
Clearly Rushed Finale! but... what is it with these reviews?
After reading these reviews others have left, it kind of irritates me because these people have to be delusional or something. It's like they cannot express their thoughts and leave some sort of ramble.
Here's what I think, the show was good. I finally did get to watching through it. It did have its' ups and downs. The beginning was great and then it started going downhill a bit but then got good and by episode 9, it was really interesting. I would say an 7/8 by IMDB standards :). However, the finale is clearly rushed. Seems like it might have been the rough draft which was submitted and filmed because of COVID. Sad, because there is an interesting and creative story here. I just cannot believe some people are saying it is soooo convoluted, because honestly, it is pretty simple.
The rushed part comes with the "action" parts of this episode. Don't know, is it writing that was rushed? Direction? Something is off compared to the other episodes. Nothing is impactful, it is all empty. I do love where it is going though. Please continue, I will watch next season. Maybe don't get Luke Scott to direct, his episodes have been the weakest of them all.
Fargo: Morton's Fork (2014)
Really enjoyable season.
Blew the film out of the water for me. Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thorton were incredible. Episode 9 was the best out of them all. This episode was great too but a little bit anticlimactic. Lester's story, however, had a great ending.
Fargo: Somebody to Love (2017)
Other reviewers missed the point of this season... Truth vs. Lies
Fargo has always been a "true story." Many elements could've been different according to who is telling the story and what their intentions are.
Season 1- Lorne Malvo being some sort of supernatural killer... or is Lester actually making that up because he is a coward?
Season 2- UFO comes down and distracts the gang guy for the Chief to make the kill. But according to who? The chief never told the story to anyone.
Season 3 takes this to another level. Based on the political climate of 2016/2017 in America, many lies are being told. This season uses that as a foundation. The very first scene of the entire season. A guy being questioned for being Yuri. He is not Yuri, yet they say he is. It is said on the paper that it is indeed Yuri. We find out later that it is not Yuri and Yuri is a henchman of VM Varga of this season.
Take the paper as what is shown to us during this season. Why should we believe it is a true story? Is Gloria really so invisible she does not activate the sink sensor? Or is it just the way she feels invisible to the world? Was her stepfather really a writer of sci-fi who went to Hollywood? Or is this just a story? Did God truly sit in a bowling alley and give Nikki car keys and punish Yuri? Or did she steal a car and kill Yuri?
Now to my main point of the season. Could Emmit Stussy really be the main bad guy of this season even though he is shown to be the good guy? Did he actually mean to kill his brother rather than the little accident with the stamp frame? Was he really a clueless business partner of VM Varga or an acquaintance?
I see people saying there are huge plot holes. How did the car start even though it broke down? Could that have been just a story and Emmit killed both the police officer and Nikki? What truly happened here? It is down to interpretation for the viewer.
Now watch the last scene between Varga and Gloria with this interpretation in mind.
Dark: Das Paradies (2020)
I cannot believe it. They wrapped it up perfectly.
I was skeptical about this show, especially this season. It was all so convoluted that I did not think even the writers knew what they were doing. However, my worries were for naught, as this episode took the entire story and wrapped it up in an emotionally intelligent conclusion and my respect for this show has been elevated to new heights. Usually I do not give the 10/10 rating on this site, but this episode especially deserves it.
Westworld: Crisis Theory (2020)
The Reason Why It Sucks
I realized the reason why this season feels so empty, so meaningless. It's because we as the viewer do not care about the characters. Their personalities are so boring. This is added to the fact that they are all robots. This flaw is much more visible when the plot itself sucks. A good example of a good character on this show was Akecheta from season 2. He had heart. Why should we care when Dolores dies when she could just come back in Season 4 in some way? Why should we care about who wins, Maeve vs Dolores? Does anyone care about Maeve's boyfriend's death? Yeah, you forgot didn't you. What was the point of the WWII park by the way? What was the point of bringing William back just to have him randomly killed off in the after credits? William should've died in episode back in Season 2 possibly with some drama around his daughter's death if this is the way he went out.
Their attempt to create a character that we could be invested in, Aaron Paul, failed. I could not care less. He is just a soldier boy. The characters have always been boring since season 1 but because of the plot, we cared what was going to happen. Similar with season 2. We wanted to know what the next twist will be. When is Ford pulling the strings? With season 3, they have a poorly written plot, with the scale being unbelievable. I could not feel the impact when Dolores made everyone see their future on the phone. Apparently the world was rioting? I did not feel that. It felt very artificial, like a full season of the Japanese storyline from season 2.
Another flaw is the fight scenes. For an action show, this really sucks. The awful fights has been a thing since season 1, but we did not notice them because we were invested in the plot goings. Now, it is just very noticeable and sticks out. The bullets randomly missing is huge and that awful car chase scene that was supposed to be "SO COOL" with the self driving cars was just lame.
I am really sad about this season. Music was on point, once again though :). Though sometimes, when it is not Ramin Djwadi doing that music, but rather one of the creators choosing the music, it feels very cheesy. Like Pink Floyd at the end. And what was that in episode 5 I think with them jumping randomly from Space Oddity to The Shining Theme??? What the heck?
It's obviously not a 10 and obviously not a 1 like others are suggesting. I do not like comparing two shows but I think this was worse than the Game of Thrones ending. Both had bad writing but at least Season 8 gave us some great visuals. I really hope this season will be an outlier in the scheme of things. Prove me right Nolan!
Westworld: The Absence of Field (2020)
Great character based episode.
This was more character based than usual which is interesting for this show. They got a new writer- Denise Thè. She is great. Good work on Caleb and Dolores and Hale. Really enjoyed it. Ramin Djawadi once again, is brilliant. Best so far this season and dare I say it, best so far?
Glass (2019)
Very enjoyable though not as impactful as it should've been.
Glass is a very interesting movie that combines the characters from Unbreakable and Split into one movie revolving around Superheros in the real world. All of their condition could technically be real and that is played with by M Night. Could all of their "powers" actually be mental illnesses?
The movie seems to focus too much on expanding what we have seen before and not adding anything new. James McAvoy is great once again though there is nothing we haven't seen before in Split and I believe that it is M Night's fault sadly. Bruce Willis is out hunting those he believes are deserving to be hunted though his performance is not too special. Samuel L Jackson is a highlight as he has gone through some change being locked up for so many years.
The setting helps the film and lets it focus on the characters. I thought the hyping up of the final act being on the new tower was great and it showed that it was not a typical superhero movie with a giant climax.
The end twist was fun but not that impactful. The superheros ARE real and there is a secret organization working in quiet to eliminate them. This includes bringing them into a mental asylum to convince them that they are just crazy. When this does not work, it comes down to killing them all. However, this is not important because they failed. The fact that everything is now recorded in our age comes into play here. No giant event like this will stay a secret any longer. The three main side characters then gather to spread the word that superheros ARE real. There is a nice message here regarding what really makes a person super.
It was very enjoyable though.
