Brilliant!

This is an intriguing true story, which my wife and I watched at the Walla Walla Movie Crush last weekend. It's a lesson of a dramatic change by a Marine after many tours of combat duty. It reveals that love and kindness can change hearts and minds. Richard McKinney was in Walla Walla and was very open and willing to talk to me (also a Marine). His daughter also plays an important role in this story. Do not miss seeing this .. DO NOT MISS SEEING THIS!!!

Brilliant fieldwork

While depth of characters is a flaw for a book enthusiasts (such as me), the film work was simply brilliant — a directing masterpiece of a complex story. The soldiers, sailors and airmen in this film were outstanding, accurately depicting the fear, courage and survival instinct on the land, air and sea (but especially in the waters off Dunkirk. A salute to the resolute souls of England and France as they engaged a brutal enemy.

Beautiful, true story

This is a beautiful, touching film based on comedian Kamail Nanjiani's real-life story. The tale begins rather simply -- like life often does -- and then builds into a funny, compelling story. Zoe Kazan gives a brilliant performance as Emily, but truthfully the entire cast was outstanding -- from Kamail to Kazan to Ray Romano and Holly Hunter and all of Kamal's family and would-be brides.

These Words Matter
30 June 2017
The Marines of Bravo 1-26 provide horrific insight into the physical and psychological impact of war through their words and actions. The bravery of those who gave their lives and those who returned home is unquestionable. Their courage and their admission of fear was a brutal honesty that most of us never experience, much less understand. I identified with these Marines because I was located with a unit just east of Khe Sanh during the same time frame. This documentary rekindled my pride of serving our nation in the Marine Corps.
