Too much

First of all - This is a story that should be told. I just wish it was told in a different way. There were lots of unnecessary parts to this series. Firstly, It could have been done in 1 episode. The ominous voice overs. He didn't actually distort his voice at all. I just felt it was done to make him sound more creepy. The cut away scenes - these people say they've experienced a traumatic time, yet here they are reenacting scenes in their best clothes, hair and make up. I also did not hear one person say "I blocked the number".

I'm not condoning what this guy did, AT ALL. But some of these people kept engaging with him. Then, continued to use social media like it was an essential part of their life. I couldn't help think - what are you doing? BLOCK! REPORT! IGNORE! Remove yourself from social media.

A series that gives repetitive and information and dragged out way too long, whilst trying to over dramatise the situation. I would have been more engaged without the unnecessary extras trying to make it a dark and gritty documentary. 4/10.

Blue Beetle (2023)

Silly and stupid

I wanted to give this movie a watch as I normally ignore reviews and make up my own mind.

For me, there were far too many silly and annoying scenes. The family members got way too much camera time and to be honest, made me cringe. Boy turns into a blue suited super hero and flies through the roof - family start singing and dancing. The uncle character - SO ANNOYING.

Grandma with a gun - stupid.

Blue beatle being beaten to a pulp but refuses to use weapons or take down the villain.

Walk into old mansion - press a single button on watch - secret trap door to secret hi tech head quarters. Just really silly.

Oh look.an old bug ship we can use. And I know exactly how to use it.

Oh look, lots of weapons - convenient.

I know, let's take the entire family including Gandma to attack a high security fortress to rescue our brother .

Terrible writing. Too much FORCED comedy which doesn't land.

Some okay fight scenes.

Nope (2022)

Not what I expected.

I watched this movie knowing absolutely nothing about it.

I was both surprised and annoyed at parts.

The first 30 minutes kept me engaged and I was intrigued as to where this movie was going to go. Although the main character mumbled a lot, so at times, I had no idea what he was talking about.

I love a good Sci-Fi movie, so I actually enjoyed the UFO parts, and thought it was quite interesting that a creature was disguising itself as a UFO. I thought that part was original and intriguing.

I understood the connection between the monkey scene and the Asian character (Jupe). He survived the movie set massacre because he didn't look the monkey in the eye. Instead he was focused on the shoe. He then believed he had some sort of connection with the monkey (fist bump) and exploited the situation for his own financial gain. He attempted to do the same with the creature (Jean jacket) but it resulted in death.

The parts that i didn't like were: How casual everyone was acting, knowing there was a UFO/creature above their home.

Keke Palmers character - I thought she was over acting at times, and was a bit too much.

I also had questions, like - why had no one seen the creature before? (Minus Jupe) Why did it only hunt in that area?

The most annoying part for me, was how they killed the creature. It only eats organic material (Humans/animals) but it attempted to eat an entire ENORMOUS balloon. Not sure why it did that when it spat the Angel character out in under 1 second because he was wrapped in barbed wire and a tarp.

Anyway - the movie has both great and poor parts. Lots of people rating this a 1 star. It definitely does not deserve that. To be honest, this movie stayed in my head for a couple of days, and the more I thought of it, the more I realized that I enjoyed it.

6.5 from me, but will have to give it a 7 on here.

Entertaining

A very entertaining watch. There are good and bad moments. The concept is good, with dramatic and sometimes brutal events that are extremely physical. Some contestants actually wrestle each other inside an arena. Others are endurance or brute strength. The 1 thing that really irritated me, was the repetitive replays and flash-backs. It will eventually drive you crazy. 1 replay literally repeated 5 times. So, I suggest just skipping forward 5 seconds or so to keep your sanity. Also, the voiceovers are terrible, so I suggest watching it in Korean, with subtitles. A good, fun and enjoyable watch. 8/10.

American Horror Story (2011– )

AHS - NYC

So different from the other seasons. I think A lot of people didn't understand it. The first 8 episodes are a serial killer hunt, with this new virus in the background. I think the message here was, although there is a murderer on the loose, the real killer (AIDS) has yet to hit with all of its power. The Big Daddy character represents the AIDS virus, or Death. When he attacks or kills, its a metaphor for either contracting or being killed by the virus. As horrible as it was, I thought it was a very clever way of showing how brutal a virus can be, and how brutal it actually was. The last 2 episodes were so well done. Emotional, accurate and REAL.

A lot of people said they didn't like this season, but I liked how different it was, which is why AHS will always be a good watch.

28 Days Haunted (2022– )

I am 16 minutes into episode 1. I would never normally rate a show or movie after not watching it fully, but this is absolutely terrible.

A cast member literally just said "If I survive the night".

Cue eye roll.

A light flickers: GHOST A faint noise: GHOST A picture on the wall: GHOST These people need to get a grip.

Just because you see a coffin in a room, doesn't mean it has to be ominous. It's literally a wooden rectangle, calm down with the dramatics.

This series would have been really entertaining if they were regular people experiencing 28 days in a so called haunted house.

The "psychics" and "sensitive" cast members just ruined it for me.

Over the top, exaggerated, forced and CRINGE.

Desperate Housewives (2004–2012)

Still as good as it was back then.

I watched this show when it first released and thought it was brilliant. I have been binge watching the entire 8 seasons with my partner over the last 7 months, and I have to say, it's still as good as it was. The writing is amazing, the acting is good, and the storyline is always flowing and changing. There are some absolutely hilarious moments, and also some very dark parts of this series that keep you watching. Look past the manipulation, lying, cheating awful people that most of the characters are and see it as humour. I do think it dipped a little on season 7, but picks back up on season 8. And once you watch the final scene of the final episode, it's kind of an emotional experience seeing the entire seasons conclude. Don't listen to some of the stupid reviews giving low ratings because of particular scenes. Make your own mind up. Its a very good series that keeps you laughing, intrigued and hooked til the very end.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)

Some good scenes, but no story.

I don't think this series is as bad as some of these reviews are saying.

There are some decent action scenes, and some very funny moments. The 2 issues I have are:

The CGI is very dodgy at times, her hair is the most noticable flaw. But I managed to see past it and keep watching.

The second was the story/plot. Although there are some good moments, just as you think the story is going somewhere, it stops. Its almost as if each episode has a new story. There is no continuous story apart from trying to get her blood.

If i had to summarise it: Funny, decent action, no plot and cringe at times. But its a fun series and you can't help but keep watching it. 7/10.

Jurassic World Dominion (2022)

Disappointing

I Love ALL of the previous movies, so was really looking forward to this, but i was really disappointed.

It didn't have the same feel as the other movies. Some scenes were really bad, like the Giga scene. The characters just stood there, walking around a car instead of running away. Then the Giga didn't really do much else. The end scene - i was expecting an epic battle. But, no, it lasted seconds and again, the characters were just stood around watching.

The way Fallen Kingdom ended, i assumed this movie would be set in human populated areas, and have to either round up all of the dinosaurs or find a way to live among them. No.

It felt like it was made just to squeeze as many different dinosaurs into it as possible.

Plus, they need to stop with the silly raptor story line. It was really unnecessary. Risking their lives for a plastic looking baby dinosaur, because he made a promise....... to a DINOSAUR.

The CGI was amazing. I hate giving negative reviews but this was such a disappointing ending to a trilogy and franchise .

This movie should not have been made. Some things should just be left alone.

It didn't have the feel that the previous Matrix movies had. It felt rushed, unfinished and just poorly made.

CGI wasn't the best.

Cinematography was terrible.

The camera was way too close in almost all of the fight scenes and the editing was awful.

Choreography was lazy and poor.

Story was meh.

20 years later and all of the above were much better in the originals.

I really wanted to like this movie, but I didn't.

This was obviously made for one simple reason - money.

Such a shame.

Old Enough! (1990– )

heartwarming

What a lovely series.

Watching these cute kids perform their first errands is both heartwarming and sometimes hilarious.

Seeing the entire community looking out for them and encouraging them to carry on really shows the difference, compared to other cultures. Plus seeing the camera operators running around trying to stay inconspicuous and trying to catch up with them is so entertaining in itself.

I really hope Netflix add more episodes soon as i could literally watch this all day.

F9: The Fast Saga (2021)

I know this is an over the top action franchise, but this has to be the most far fetched movie i have ever seen.

Bullet dodging.

Horrific crashes and walking away without a scratch.

Super strength from a regular man.

Flying cars in space.

Jumping out of a rolling, exploding, burning truck, landing on his feet like some sort or superhero? Really?

Bringing even more characters back from the dead.

I bet the cast read the script and thought "If i wasnt getting paid millions of dollars for this, no way would i agree to be in this movie".

The only reason i gave it a 3 star rating is because some of the action scenes were entertaining.

I would rather punch my dog........ actually, id rather punch a baby than watch this cr@p again.

Turning Red (2022)

I have to start with the amount of adult people reviewing this movie and saying things like: "it made me uncomfortable" "i didn't understand it" "i couldn't relate" No1 - its a kids movie.

No2 - just because you aren't female, you couldn't relate? Its a children's movie!

I can't relate to being a giant red panda, but i still enjoyed it.

This movie has a really good moral and metaphorical story to it.

Its a coming of age movie informing kids that they don't have to be who they are told to be. It is also a coming of age metaphor for young girls experiencing a change in their bodies. (it happens, and its natural so chill out).

I loved the story and i loved the Asian influence. I saw one review saying the "mother was one of the worst characters and was really annoying". That character is very accurate is some Asian cultures. An over baring parent with high expectations from their child, pressuring them to do well and the child seeking constant approval or feeling like they are not good enough. It happens more often than you think.

People saying its not appropriate for children because of the hidden messages - have you not seen the Shrek movies?

The animation is as always - amazing.

The story is clever and interesting.

Characters - some of the friends were a bit annoying at the beginning, but they grew on me.

Ignore the bad reviews, make up your own mind.

And buy the way, I am not a woman or Asian. I just have an interest in different people and cultures.

All of Us Are Dead (2022– )

Good fun. Poor decisions.

This series isn't bad. It's just a bit frustrating at times. The action and gore is pretty good, and the acting is also good, especially from the zombies. Who are all so realistic and played superbly. My biggest issue is the STUPID decisions that the characters were making. I don't think I've ever shouted at the tv so much in my life. A fun and entertaining watch, if you don't mind not taking it too seriously.

Mare of Easttown (2021)

I literally watched all 7 episodes in 1 day. Then, after it had all ended, I didnt know what to do with my life.

This series is a masterpiece! The writing is brilliant, the story is so good and the acting is second to none. This is a slow burner that will keep you captivated till the very end. Absolutely amazing.

Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)

Slow start, epic ending

It started off slow. Godzilla and Kong b!tch slapped eachother a few times, then it continued. The human story got in the way ONCE AGAIN, and the dialogue was terrible. But, the end battle, which was probably 40 minutes, was epic.

The fight scenes were actually so good, and the CGI is absolutely amazing.

My 69 year old dad was on the edge of the sofa, farting in excitement and saying "but the amount of damage!!. How many millions will it cost? What about the poor people in that building the monster was just thrown through. Imagine they were just minding their own business, on a lunch break".

It's what a Godzilla/Kong movie should be - giant monsters, fighting .

Coming 2 America (2021)

This movie was pretty bad. It made me cringe for about 80% of the movie, because the jokes weren't funny, and the characters were just too over the top. There were random dance performances, old jokes and terrible CGI. I think my sole left me body at some point. In my opinion, there were only 2 things good about this movie: the return of the cast, and the characters in the barber shop.

Ghost of Tsushima (2020 Video Game)

Amazing gameplay. Realistic. Amazing story. Superb graphics. The control system can be a bit awkward at the beginning and the camera angles can be annoying at times, but when you master it, it works so well. This has to be one of the best games I have ever played. The detail in this game is unreal. The map is large and the landscapes you travel through have to be one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. So perfectly detailed. I sometimes stop and look at the landscape, almost as if it is real. you have to see it to believe it. If you own a PlayStation, you need this game. 10/10

Days Gone (2019 Video Game)

I am currently half way through this game (so I've been told), and I have not been disappointed. Sometimes the entire day has passed me by and I realise I've been playing for 10 hours. That's how good it is. This game is so underrated. It is kind of a slow burner. The level up system can be kind of slow, depending on how you play the game. But, this game will certainly keep you on your toes. During the day, you can travel around, choosing what to do, bumping into a few zombies, taking out camps, completing missions, occasionally bumping into a hoard. Then at night - ZOMBIES EVERYWHERE!!! It it guaranteed that eventually you will accidentally ride directly into a huge swarm, and if like me, you will scream like b*tch and your Ar*ehole will almost fly out of your mouth. It can be very unnerving travelling around during the night. The Game play is amazing, even if you decide to do nothing. It really does give you the sense of being in a post apocalyptic world. This is the first game in a long time that has held my attention and literally had me addicted. Some upgrade tips for you: BIKE - upgrade the engine so you can hold more fuel. upgrade frame to take more damage. Add ammo storage. SKILLS - to ensure you can take down enemies - I recommend upgrading your ranged weapons skills. An a particular survivor instinct which allows you to see where enemies are when using focus. Another essential is being able to repair melee weapons and another to increase the damage melee weapons give out. Enjoy. this game will not disappoint you.

Big Fish (2003)

Amazing movie, with an amazing message

I remember watching this movie when it first came out back in 2003. I remember liking it, but I Didn't fully understand it. Until I watched it again today. Nearly 18 years later. Its is a movie of different tales, each with its own message and metaphor. Beautifully told and touching to watch. Another Tim Burton classic.

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)

This Movie wasn't brilliant, but it wasn't as bad as some of these reviews are saying it is. I will admit, there are some very cheesy moments, and at one point, I was thinking "ok something needs to happen now". But it wasn't a terrible movie. Some of the action scenes were good. Not brilliant, but good. I actually liked the female villain, but she would have been so much better if she was an Apex predator from the beginning. Instead, they decided to add a bit of dark eye make up and longer hair to make the character look stronger, and edgier. meh. just make them fight already! I wouldn't recommend paying for it. but give it a watch. Its not THAT bad.

The amount of people giving this movie a low rating because they didn't understand it, or turned it off, is so unfair. Just because you couldn't be bothered to pay attention or are unable to follow an in-depth plot, doesn't make it a bad movie. If you didn't understand it, I recommend watching it again. If you turned it off, why are you rating a movie you haven't even watched????? Maybe, these are the kind of people I see looking at Facebook or taking a selfie on Tik-Tok while the movie is on, then complaining they don't understand what's going on. This movie is amazing. The story is a bit complicated to understand, but the concept of the movie is so good. This may help, or confuse people even more = Think of the movie name "Tenet". Think "Ten", then think, what is ten backwards? then put them together. In my opinion - Another amazing movie from Christopher Nolan. 9/10

Love and Monsters (2020)

Good fun

First of all. People complaining that is a kids movie, saying it's for 5 year old, saying I'm an adult so didn't enjoy it. Where is your sense of fun? Adventure? Why has the child in you had to disappear because society tells you to grow up? You can be mature and still have a bit of fun and let the child out every so often Anyways, this movie was good fun. Not the best plot, but it's an adventure. The monsters are a bonus and in my opinion are well designed. The main character is ok, but the dog steals the show. The end scene was a bit over the top but it reminded me of the old monster movies like Clash of the titans and Sinbad. This brought back lots of childhood memories for me. Don't take the movie too serious. It's good fun.

My Octopus Teacher (2020)

Heartwarming and Stunning

I Think everyone should watch this documentary. It isn't just visually stunning but, heartwarming and SO interesting watching the relationship between these two species. I have to admit, that guy not only showed some serious dedication, but also some serious B@lls to be in that water every day, all to visit his new friend. please watch, it is so nice.
