Wowzers!

Beautiful, concise writing and wonderful character development. The vulnerability of the characters made me fall in love with all of them. Would I call it a comedy? No. Would I call it bittersweet and driven? Yes. I can't wait for season 2 and Jeremy Allen White has earned an Emmy nod. I love this show.

Better than expected

As a child I grew up listening to the soundtrack on vinyl. I had seem the original movie a few times, but seem to zone out in the middle and can't always keep the characters straight, but Speiberg's attempt at making West Side Story for a modern audience did not disappoint. My initial take-away was that the script fleshed out the innuendo of the original version. With more thought, Kushner has brought real history and understanding to a world that was created to only be a vehicle to carry a modern day Romeo and Juliet . With quick lines and actions. The screenplay fleshed out the understanding of how each gang felt, how characters were motivated andillinated the emptiness of the original work. This was a beautiful rendition of the play. Well done.

Meh
26 November 2021
I would appreciate the industry understanding that Gaga, though filling the seats for some amount of time, does not make a story stronger or believable. Jared Leto on the other hand was the only shining light in the film.

Al Pachino gave his usual performance as did Adam Driver. Jeremy Iron's voice went from a weak Italian accent to Scar's grumble. Leto was hard to recognize and was endearing as a character.

The pacing of the film was slow and details were lost. Did I care about the main characters? No.

So, meh.

Alan Alda saying the "n" word. Wow!

I never thought I would see Alda as a old crimugen or Louie CK so chill.

Comfort food for the eyes

From 7th grade until my first year in cllege, I was a faithful watcher. Coming back to it in my 50's, I am happy to say it holds up.

Seeing actors who are still relevant, and those who are frozen in time, it brings me a smile. Seeing it discuss current injustices of the time and making gafs through today's standards, I see its value. Just hearing Denzel Washngton ask Howie Mandel, "Who is Felix Unger?" Makes the watching it again worth it.

So many best parts
10 December 2020
There are so many great parts in this show, I think it is the narration from John Maconroe's narration.

I love the breaking of the fourth wall and how I can empathize with so many of the characters.

Bound for greatness
21 January 2019
This movie goes beyond the screen and teaches anyone who watches it the truth about American race relations. Blackkklansman left me with an "ugly cry". It will be with me for a long time. I'm glad I brought my teenage daughter with me to see it.n

Don't overlook this film

Glass was a great continuation of the trilogy. The theme of love and power of humanity played center stage.

Right on Point

As a mother of three daughters and having the last one just finish 8th grade, this movie rang so familiar. I have heard my husband try to communicate to my daughter's in the same way and it brought back all my feelings of being in middle school. Thank you.
