Beyond Skyline (2017)
Below average scifi content
This doesn't seem like a low budget movie given the effects and what not...but the script and acting are far worse than most of the low budget stuff you'd watch on SyFy.
It's an ok watch but it's really nothing special.
The Titan (2018)
lol
This movie started off pretty interesting...until i realized about halfway through the movie they were still on earth. Basically the whole movie they get you excited and psyched for a space adventure that you never actually get. The last 30 seconds of the movie is the only time you actually get to titan...and it consists of Doctor Manhattan flying like a jet through the air.
Dirilis: Ertugrul (2014)
Pretty good
I don't know much about history but this was pretty interesting to watch. A lot of it seems pretty low budget and fake but it still worth it. My main complaint about this (watched on netflix) is that it has the most ridiculous censoring I've ever seen. The fight scenes arent very intense so it's not that graphic to begin with...but as an example...a guy gets a cut on his cheek (not even deep...just a red line) and HALF OF HIS FACE IS BLURRED. The guy is alive too so for half an episode he only has half a face.
The acting is also pretty bad because it's overly dramatic. The way people express emotion on their face when they should be subtle or should hide their reactions is ridiculous.
My last complaint and then I'll shut up...The women in this series are ALWAYS out of line. What I mean by this is that I'm pretty sure if things happened like this in the past I'm almost certain most of these women would be stoned or put to death. It is hard to watch at times because if a woman did some of this stuff in todays society she'd almost certainly be beaten to death because it's enough to drive a husband (or any man, woman, or child) insane...and I'm pretty sure that things are less brutal now than they were in the past. Just my two cents on that subject.
2307: Winter's Dream (2016)
Ok to watch but don't look too closely
Throughout the movie you see actors with shaky hands fumbling with things that are supposed to be natural. The movie itself is ok but nothing that interesting or special. The fumbling starts about 1 minute into the movie when an actor almost knocks a tray out of a waiters hand...
It's pretty hard to watch because it tries to be too edgy as well. There is way too much emphasis on the use of vape pens and it looks extremely unnatural. The people using them arent even inhaling just making as much vapor as possible as quickly as possible lol. Add in the rat faced girl soldier who is chewing tobacco and constantly spitting clear saliva in a cup...it tries WAY TOO HARD and looks like a joke.
Now the special effects...If you have a limited budget I understand that this part would be lacking but some of the stuff they do just makes it look like a joke. An exampled? Dump truck randomly has it's engine explode and then when they lift the hood it looks like someone is using a sparkler inside of an exhaust pipe.
It's pretty bad.
Lost in Space (2018)
Not bad not great
This show is everything that all the other reviews say. It's a bad remake but not that bad if you don't compare it to the source material.
I have the same complaints as everyone else though. The females that have the lead roles in this are a joke and are "in charge". If this mom Maureen was actually in charge of this families survival in real life they'd all be dead in episode one. It's so frustrating to watch a soccer mom pretend to be an alpha when she clearly isn't.
Then you have Dr. Smith...another mentally challenged woman. I don't even know if she's supposed to be a villain but everything she does contradicts itself, she doesnt have one redeeming quality, obnoxious actor, TERRIBLE, I've wanted her dead since episode one.
Ghost in the Shell (2017)
Terrible
I watched up until the 20 minute mark and I couldn't handle anymore. I loved the source material but this movie is such a piece of crap. Scarlet Johanson was such a bad pick for this. I don't even care whether or not she's Japanese...I just care that she failed to capture the role she's playing. I don't recommend anyone watches it.
