WWE Money in the Bank (2017)
Money In The Bank Was OK. Just OK
Money In The Bank 2017 was a show that was just OK. I had little to no expectations going into this match other than the two Money In The Bank matches.
The women's MITB was overall quite good and the ending was actually quite good, I knew somehow James Ellsworth was going to get involved in the match at some point but I didn't think for a second that he would actually grab the briefcase therefore making Carmella the winner. Ellsworth grabbing the case is what makes the match a bit ruined for me.
The Tag Team Championship match was OK the finish was great, The Usos lost but at least they lost by countout. I believe they should keep the belts until Summerslam for someone like Breezango to win it but it's probably going to end up being The New Day again.
Naomi and Lana put on an average match I was impressed by Lana in her debut match but Naomi won and that just seems right.
Jinder Mahal won against Randy Orton for the second time but I feel like he shouldn't have won by pinfall. Randy Orton beat up the Singh brothers after they assaulted Randy Orton's father at ringside, even though they were technically ejected from ringside I feel like the amount of time Orton was out there for he should have been counted out as Jinder was still in the ring, it would have showed that Randy needed to control his anger and that would build up another match at Summerslam. Jinder is actually quite a good wrestler, I was impressed by him.
Breezango faced The Ascension in a forgettable tag match that lasted nearly four minutes. This match was just boring not for the fault of the workers themselves just the way they built it up with The Ascension having their voices disguised and thinking maybe someone got called up or a it's a returning tag team, but no it's The Ascension. It would be great if they won and maybe started to become as dominate as they were in NXT but alas not so much.
Finally the men's MITB. I really liked this match. It started with everyone coming out as usual until Nakamura's entrance happened and Baron Corbin bet up Shinsuke Nakamura and had to be carried out to backstage. It was also full of moments that you thought someone was going to win but then another person came in, it was never ending in a good way. The spot where Sami Zayn put Kevin Owens through a ladder and it twisted was unique and memorable, it was mostly like that throughout the match, at one point Nakamura came back out and just started beating everyone up until he got to A.J Styles, these two have a lot of history together and as soon as they both met in that ring fans started cheering and when they finally threw fists the place went crazy. However the fan favourite to win Baron Corbin won and became the new Mr. Money In The Bank.
Also I can't remember what part of the show it was on so I'm just going to put it here. Maria Kanellis and Mike Bennett (Now Mike Kanellis) debuted together in the WWE. Maria having previously worked for WWE before leaving the company in 2010 made a name for herself in TNA and NJPW along with her husband Mike Bennett. This is Mike Bennett's first time working with the WWE and I hope maybe they'll get at least one title run out of both of them.
Overall this show wasn't too bad but it could have been a whole lot better
NXT TakeOver: Chicago (2017)
An Amazing Night Of Wrestling
This is one of the greatest Takeover shows NXT has put out. Every match on this is amazing the only downside being Rodrick Strong Vs Eric Young could have gone on for a bit longer but aside from that this was an amazing pay per view
Favourite Match - Tyler Bate Vs Pete Dunn For the United Kingdom Championship - This match was amazing these two put on such a good match every time they work together - 4 and a half stars
WWE Extreme Rules (2017)
An Extreme...Mediocre Show
Kalisto Vs Apollo Crews was an okay match the right person won in my opinion
Dean Ambrose Vs The Miz (With Maryse) for the Intercontinental title was an exciting match with many spots that could have ended the match due to the DQ stipulation of if Dean gets Disqualified Miz would win the title but if Miz gets DQ Dean would keep the title. Overall a pretty good match.
Rich Swann and Sasha Banks Vs Noam Dar and Alicia in a mixed tag team was not really an interesting match but I think all four competitors made a pretty good impression however the match itself in terms doesn't appeal necessarily to me story wise thus I wasn't really invested or cared who the victor would be.
Alexa Bliss Vs Bayley for the Raw Women's Title in a Kendo Stick On A Pole match was an interesting match as it was the first pole match in the WWE in about 3 years and involve women with a dangerous object. The storytelling in this match was amazing. One of the highlights of the night.
Hardy Boyz Vs Sheamus and Cesaro in a Steel Cage for the Raw Tag Team Titles. This match was amazing with Jeff and Matt doing high spots that got the crowd popping and a huge back and forth between the two teams made this match one of the least predictable.
Neville Vs Austin Aries in a submission match for the Crusiserweight Championship was a kind of disappointing match for me, granted I like the spot when Austin locked Neville in a Figure 4 and Neville tried to reverse it but Aries used his momentum to roll back over in his favor, I have never seen that done before and was quite interesting. A good match but not as good as their previous two matches for the title.
The Fatal Five Way between Finn Balor, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt to become the number one contender for The Universal Title and fight Brock Lesnar at Great Balls Of Fire. This was definitely match of the night and that is weird for me because usually my match of the night usually goes to a match on the mid- card or the first match of the night. This match was just full of so much unpredictability due to all previous competitors winning big titles at some point in their career (Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt being former WWE World Heavyweight Champions, Balor being a former Universal and NXT Champion and Samoa Joe being a former and first two time NXT Champion) This match was just a great piece of wrestling and is the match the increased the overall rating of the show.
Overall pretty good only about two or three matches seemed to be weak in terms of story but in terms of wrestling WWE do an amazing job as usual.
Favourite Match - Fatal 5 Way
