Historical Roasts (2019)
It popped up - and we loved it!!!
Just take it with a grain of salt! Enjoy it and laugh.
Polar (2019)
Terrific and pop culture to boot
Loved every minute of it! Plenty of adult action, plenty of intertwining plotlines and we could have watched it over and over again!
The Orville: Majority Rule (2017)
Love this Episode!
If you haven't watched Black Mirror on Netflix, you'll miss the point of this episode. It's great and they take the 'seed' of this agenda from Black Mirror and show it in applicable society! LOVE IT!
Ingenious to show how hard it is to blend in but to also show the disciplinary system via social media! Hello - Facebook!
Atypical (2017)
Hilarious and Heartwarming
This is the best new thing we've seen in a long time.
We have ADHD kids of our own. However, you never see how the parents effect the children's reactions to their environment, or how the children feel about themselves.
This show does two things perfectly:
1. Show that the parents do have a hard time. Disabilities are hard, and parents have a hard time with it. There are parents that spend way too much time shouting "My kid has a disability, so make every accommodation because I know everything will go wrong!" That is what makes the mom character great and shows the strength of the father character.
2. The kids perspective. The kids are really different and exactly alike. The daughter loses control in the first episode, but nobody reacts. The son pursues a normal path and everyone is freaking out.
The show is amazing just for that reason. Disabilities are hard. Life is hard. But this show actually gives you insight into the "spectrum" and the rigidity of the community while allowing us to see his perspective and how desperately he wants to connect and he pursues every available path to try to do just that.
The Defenders (2017)
Great Series, can't wait for MORE!
Let's face it, all good stories need starts. I hate to see the reviews ripping this apart, but I don't think any of them read how hard it was to the 'Avengers' movie together.
Everyone is linked into this in his or her own way which makes it super neat. I love that everyone has their own goal, but the villain is the same. I can't understand why I don't have a person to dress do my make-up like Sigourney Weaver! She's disarming and menacing both, which makes her even more of a further delicious villain down the road.
I'm glad to see each person will return to their own respective territory. Though, I think this is a great thing. Yes, the release is fast and it's not a multi-million dollar movie production. (Oh wait.. did I say get over it, people?) But this is a wonderful series. Don't miss it!
