Story: Very much like Dhoom. A little change here and a little change there, add a new character, throw in a love angle and a bland 'i-knew-it-already' twist in the end and you have Dhoom 2. What bullshit was this? The story sucked. You have seen such stories many times before. The story dragged. The climax is a disaster. I wld have said a bit more but i don't want to put out spoilers. To sum it up in one word "boring".
Performance: Hrithik: The saving the grace, the real soul of the movie. Brilliant performance from him. Though he tried to add in "style" in some scenes instead of saying the dialogue properly but he cant be blamed. He looks fantastic while doing stunts. And surely the girls will go ga-ga over him. Heck, i prayed for a bod like that! Lol.
Abhishiek: Not much different from Dhoom. Decent. In fact, he was good in most of his scenes. No complains from him.
Uday Chopra: He managed to provide some laughs here and there but was irritating for most bit.
Aishwariya: She was 'like', terrible. Her speech delivery is, 'like', horrible. She doesn't, 'like', perform at all. And almost whenever, 'like', she opened her mouth, she was, 'like', irritating. 'Like'. But she looked gorgeous and amazingly sexy.
Bipasha Basu: Ooh la la!! What a bomb brother! The beach scene was...oh man....my eyes were wide open for a long long time. Too bad she doesn't know how to act. Oh well.
Rimi Sen: Tiny role, good performance.
Stunts: What the bloody hell? Whats this so much style for? Too much stylish action. Illogical and unbelievable stunts. There was hardly any superb-ness in the action and the stunts, only loads of rubbish style. The saving grace was the Hrithik chase scenes. Hrithik's disguises are well done though.
Music: The songs sure sound better when you actually see them. Otherwise there is nothing to sing 'crazy kiya re' about the songs. Oh and wow, Hrithik dances like a leave...dude... The first title track, with the whistle and all, is good but sadly it hardly gets used for background score. Instead, another crappy 'Dhoom' background score is played making the action sequences bland (a problem with Casino Royale too but hey, the action ROCKED in that movie).
Screenplay: The movie could have been over in one hour, but they dragged on and on and on. Songs for no freakin reason, stunts for no reason, stylish-scenes for no reason and unwanted boring scenes for no reason. Heck, the actors walked as if they were in for a fashion show. Always in style mode. The smooch scene was disappointing too. It lacked a sense of love or passion. Hrithik was trying, poor chap, to give in a nice one but Aish was a bit hesitant.
Overall: Watch it on a DVD. Sorry, let BrG release a 2CD DVD rip and watch it then. Absolute rubbish movie. In such movies, story and action are the heart and the film fails in both. Too many unwanted scenes, wafer thin boring as hell storyline, cheap performance from most of the cast, and overly stylish action scenes which don't make sense sometimes. Thank god i was sent a special screening invitation from my bank otherwise i wld have wasted 50-55 bucks on this crap movie.
