Nope (2022)
OMG one of the worst !
Hard to put this into words. It was torture non stop. Corny storyline leading to nowhere. Couldn't really grade the actors with the weak script. Kept extending the pain by not giving it an ending that might make sense, of course there was nothing to make sense of. Just another post scamdemic piece of garbage. Best thing I can say is I didn't pay to watch it at the theatres, saw it on Prime which minimized the pain. Amazing how some found this acceptable. Maybe it's written and appreciated by a much younger generation, but I wouldn't want to insult any age group by saying that.
My apologies, I'm being forced to write 600 characters, this movie doesn't deserve any characters.
Kung Fu (2021)
Typical Woke Apple
I really enjoy martial arts and king fu type programming. Warrior a recent HBO series blew the roof off. It's a must watch. This Apple series started out somewhat interesting but then in typical woke fashion BLM was brought into it!
About episode 5. Can't we just enjoy a series without movements and politics brought into it? BLM is a divisive movement which has been exposed for the fraud it is. Portrays as protestors which is laughable these protest were nothing less than riots and destructive... Apparently not! I immediately stopped watching. Many other reviews agreed with me.
Too bad, it might have been decent...
Finch (2021)
Save yourself the time
Well Tom Hanks is back, sort of, he should have stayed away. This was a disaster. It seems the standards have bottomed out on film production. Story line is ridiculous, post apocalyptic world with Finch and his boy toy robot Jeff and dog. The dog is the star of the movie. Could have left Finch and Jeff out. Very disappointing for the way this film is being promoted.
Night Teeth (2021)
Too woke for me
Big turn off; BLM painted on the streets🤣 clearly Netflix can't do a movie with this nonsense. I tried watching but it was sophomoric and not well developed. Can't wait for these post covid garbage movies to run their course.
All American (2018)
Not worth the time
Too bad BLM has infected this series. Season 4 is so off base, never saw this coming. I watch for entertainment not someone's political agenda. Typical Netflix pandering.
Greenland (2020)
2hrs of torture
Way too long and weak catastrophic story line. Butler is what made me interested but even he couldn't save it. Have at it !
Stowaway (2021)
A very generous 5
Pickings certainly are slim and Netflix proves this with a slow movie that might have had a chance but no finish. Decent actors but shallow storyline. Just dragged on pointlessly. 2 hours of my life I'll never get back.
What Lies Below (2020)
Terrible, shallow and lost time I'll never get back.
Avoid this flimsy, shallow, unoriginal movie at all cost. Weak plot, funky acting, it couldn't end soon enough for me.
Tesla (2020)
Disappointing
Tesla was an incredibly interesting and tortured soul. This movie was more torture than interesting. Ethan Hawke tried yo deliver but the script just wasn't there nor was his heart. Save your money it will be on cable sooner than later.
Motherless Brooklyn (2019)
The best 6.8 movie I've seen !
Edward Norton is fantastic in his role. He's pretty much the entire movie. Well produced with a solid story line. You won't be disappointed.
Da 5 Bloods (2020)
All over the place
Started out with promise, good premise, interesting characters but then it just got plain ridiculous. Some left political undertones which were no big deal but really not necessary. But Netflix is left so not surprising. About half way thru you began to wonder if it would ever end, too long and lost direction. Good sound track and cinematography but again it just got down right stupid the last half. Would not consider watching it again or suggesting it to a friend.
Run (2020)
Insomnia cure
I gave this an honest shot, of course I was part of the captive Covid audience and entertainment was running thin. Made very little sense, didn't finish the first episode. If you enjoy senseless babble give it a go. To think some writer got paid for this.
Black and Blue (2019)
Ignore the "professional " reviews
Excellent, well done movie from start to finish. Non stop action. Solid, credible story line. I was pleasantly surprised but listened to everyone that said ignore the critics see for yourself. Very good acing to boot!
American Factory (2019)
Dissapointing
Netflix is definitely falling to the "left". One important fact this movie fails to mention is why our factories were shutting down and we we're exposed to foreign take over. When this movie is somehow credited to the Obama's this glaring detail was omitted. Why ? It was a copycat of Mr Mom with Michael Keaton but not nearly as entertaining.
Honestly, Netflix you're getting far too liberal. I get that you're mimicking Hollywood but don't forget, half the country isn't liberal. There are other options.
Yellowstone (2018)
Can't wait until the next episode!
This series is a very pleasant surprise. Paramount, the cable network it appears on allows some mature content with certainly adds to it's authenticity. Costner does an excellent job playing a gravely voiced mega rich rancher who will do whatever it takes to protect his ranch and family. Adding spice to the series is Kelly Reilly, very easy on the eyes with a sultry, seductive pit bull demeanor. If you enjoy western/ cowboy themed programs this is one to watch. Well written with a fluid ever twisting plot and the Montana scenery is awesome. My only complaint might be too many commercials but a small price to pay for a series this good !
Bad Blood (2017)
This series delivered !
Just binged this series on a tip from a friend. Very good tip. Kim Coates surprised me. Knew him from the SOA but never knew how strong an actor hie is. Declan is a very believable if not lucky character. He's a bad man. The rest of the cast was solid. Well constructed story , both enjoyable and easy to follow. S2 was slightly better but no wasted screen time. All in all if you like Mafia/Cartel movies this will satisfy.
Warrior (2019)
Bruce Lee lives on
An excellent, action packed series with a historical timeline . Anyone who enjoys martial arts, and early American western history should thorough enjoy this series. Fresh new acting faces, well written, directed and produce this will stand the test of time.
The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth (2016)
Unimaginative and shallow
If you want to hear one side of the story this is for you. Biased reporting with nothing you haven't heard or seen before in the lame stream media. It would be refreshing to see an objective news show. Just another echo chamber type program. Don't waste your time.
CBGB (2013)
Great music history
The historical story line line is very entertaining and interesting. Rickman does a good job as Hilly whom I never heard of before this movie. What a character. The talent that went thru his joint was amazing. A true pioneer ( maybe by accident) of cutting edge rock. You won't be sorry you watched it. Great sound track.
The Snowman (2017)
Why oh why ?
Why oh why did I watch this film ? It felt like it lasted 8 hours. No continuity, jumped all over the place. Difficult to follow because it was so boring. Certainly didn't do the Norwegian Travel Council any favors. Ultimately, my bad for watching it.
Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer (2018)
Dark
A dark, sobering film on the view point of pro choice vs pro life. It will make you rethink the process and what guidelines should be followed. It's not an anti abortion movie but exposes some flawed thinking regarding gestation and late term. For obvious political reasons this film will not get much publicity if any nor will it be shown in many theatres. It was very well done, informative and I walked out of the theatre with an unsettling feeling about the entire process.
White Boy Rick (2018)
Unexpected !
Based upon the previews I was surprised by the content of this movie. It certainly cast light on the darker side of relationship between a father and his children. The triumphs and downfalls. Very realistic, a well done period film of Detroit in the 80's which unfortunately hasn't changed much. I love the acting of Matthew McConaughey and once again he doesn't disappoint. The back story is gangs, violence, and drugs and the temptation of quick money but, there is much more, it's trappings and ultimate failures. A thoughtful movie I enjoyed. I'd like to share more but don't want to spoil any of it. But expect the unexpected.
Death of a Nation (2018)
The Truth Shall Overcome
If you're expecting a shallow, special effects, star studded production save your money. If you actually want to learn and have our history challenged, and be shown facts that support and debunk much of what you think you might know, this is your film. D'Souza hits right between the eyes with documented facts, film and historical evidence that all is not as some want it to appear. The theatre was packed, people applauded at the end, and walked out with their heads up, eyes watery and wide open. Take your teens, history is no longer taught in schools. You may walk out not agreeing with everything you see and hear, but you will think . . . And that's a very good thing.
The Equalizer 2 (2018)
Excellent Sequel
You won't regret seeing E2. I honestly feel it had a better story line and more action than 1. From start to finish it didn't dissapoint or seem to drag on. Denzel did his normal great job and never ceases to amaze. He's timeless ! McCall's mysterious background was filled in but still left you wanting more and when it comes to kicking butt, he's right there with Wick. Will there be an E3 . . . I can only hope so. You won't walk away dissapointed.
Sicario: Day of the Soldado (2018)
Definitely worth seeing.
A good sequel. Lots of suspense , drama and action. Some reviews said it moved slow which I don't agree with. In my opinion not quite as good as the first but glad I saw it. Brolan and Del Toro do their thing, good chemistry and the story line is authentic. Good timing for this movie as our border crisis is at a fever pitch and this movie hits it hard !
