The Ultimate Documentary
18 February 2022
A great documentary, showing who Jim Hellwig really was behind the curtain. The remarks by those appearing in the documentary are neither defamatory, nor are they in any way disrespectful...quite the contrary, in fact.

DON'T listen to others, WATCH IT YOURSELF
23 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First things first, don't listen to those that will outride hate on the show without having seen anything. The fandom wars need to stop once and for all. So my suggestion is to watch Fate, then judge it for yourself.

Now to the short review. The expectations were high and were met to some extent. Fate is dark but not as dark as the rating would suggest. There is no place for romance (perhaps it will get more romantic in season 2), so love definitely comes short. Speaking of short, 6 episodes are not enough for a season. Maybe that format suits the British crime series but not this show. It's expectedly more violent than the main series, sex is mentioned and implied, the profanity is moderate. Drugs are present. Fate contains callbacks and references to the main franchise. The effects do look realistic.

The producers could have made a perfect adaptation but they didn't manage to accomplish that feature. Perhaps the upcoming season, episode 6 ends on a cliffhanger, will achieve that. There's so much untapped potential to reach and Iginio only scratched the surface. We'll see what happens next. The Fate novel is also coming out later this year. Perhaps it might fill the open spots, so that this show can get a perfect 10. As for now, we'll have to patiently wait.

Watch only if you want to lose your brain cells
17 June 2018
Boring, un-imaginative, horrible writing, bad CGI-animation, most overrated cartoon from France and South Korea. These are words that immediately come to mind when thinking about this show. Transformation sequences, if you can even call them that, ala Mysticons, a love story taken straight from other successful cartoons, a Winx-Club-esque relationship between two children falling in love with each other but at the same time being too shy to confess their feelings for one another and clichés that have been used before, and over 40 episodes in which lame knock-off Marvel villains fight against 2 children with superpowers are all what awaits the viewer. The dynamic bares another similarity with Marvel comics, as Ladybug fills in the Spider-Man role (without the tragic Uncle Ben backstory, though), while Chat Noir (obviously, if the name wasn't already a big hint) is the Black Cat to Ladybug's Spider-Man. The worst of all is the danger of losing millions of brain cells once the viewer has finished the whole seasons.

Netflix made the worst decision of the year with acquiring the rights to the show and showing it to America's audience (while at the same time not following up on the World of Winx season 2 cliffhanger).

Here is hope that the writing team step up their game before the show meets its ultimate cancelation, which will undoubtedly happen, should this bore-fest continue.

The best adaptation of an okay comic
26 July 2017
What an astonishing movie, especially the first half is fun and entertaining. While the original story by Alan Moore turned Barbara Gordon into a mere plot device (after Mister Moore was told to "cripple" her by some immature consecutive named Len Wein), this movie actually goes deeper and makes matters personal, as Batman finally has a reason to hunt the Joker down and stop the maniacal, sadistic and murderous "Clown Prince of Crime" for good...something the Dark Knight has failed to accomplish in all those years, despite having had endless chances and opportunities to do so. Bruce and Barbara have a friendship which goes beyond what the comic canon had established on New Earth/Earth-1 (the main universe in which most of the Batman stories take place). It is for that added romance and backstory which turns a simple retelling of a comic into a television masterpiece. A backstory was necessary, as the viewer had not seen Batgirl in the DC Animated Movie Universe yet, except for a small cameo at the end of some animated movie, and that was the New 52 Burnside- Batgirl, not the more well known one with the yellow and black outfit, so it was very kind of Brian Azzarello and Bruce Timm to add half an hour of pure greatness.

It is sad how so many butthurt people crap on a wonderful movie, just because two FICTIONAL adults had sex once. Those people should be ashamed of themselves and consider living in a church for the rest of their lives.

Do NOT waste your time on this
11 June 2017
Anything is better than this crap. Whatculture is the absolute worst of all promotions....if you can even call that a promotion. Trying to copy the big leagues (World Wrestling Entertainment, New Japan Pro Wrestling, AAA and Lucha Underground) while at the same time crapping on the history of wrestling and voilà you have a Revolution Pro knock-off on your hands. The commentary (provided by some immature, obese dude in his 40's wearing a McDonald's paper crown) is awful; the booking decisions are horrendous and the arena looks like a backyard basement not even worth 2£.

My tip: watch some good wrestling, like the aforementioned Lucha Underground, Asistencia Asesoría y Administración, World Wrestling Entertainment, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Revolution Pro Wrestling or other not well known promotions.
