The Man (2019)
Psychological Torture
This show is essentially about watching a man being psychologically tortured. I don't find any kind of torture entertaining or enjoyable to watch. If I had known that's what this show amounted to, I would have skipped it. As if that wasn't bad enough, the acting was not good. Watching it turned out to be a dreadful experience. I raised it from a 1 to 2 because of the ending. I recommend skipping this horrid series.
The Squid and the Whale (2005)
Disturbing
Although I liked this movie, I found it disturbing. They all need counseling, especially the kids. The younger one had some behaviors that made me wonder about a serial killer in the making. Luckily, he didn't seem to have the mental make up for that. Neither kid was on a path to becoming a "healthy, functioning" adult. The end was slightly abrupt and left me feeling conflicted and a bit disturbed.
Messiah (2020)
FYI: Lots of Subtitles
I watched the first half of episode one; the majority of it was not in English. This is just an FYI, NOT a criticism. I am only fluent in English and I was doing other things while trying to watch this, so it wasn't convenient for me to finish it. It did seem like a promising series though.
The Romantics (2010)
No Ending and Not A Comedy
This movie is more drama than comedy. There really aren't enough comedic moments to put it in the comedy category. I wouldn't call it a romance either. My main issue with it is that nothing was resolved in the end. The rest of the movie was enjoyable enough, but the lack of resolution left me annoyed in the end.
In a Relationship (2018)
Worth Watching
I enjoyed the movie although the storyline is relatively slow. This movie is best to watch if you aren't totally awake or are looking for something a bit mindless. This is not a movie that will occupy your brain.
I didn't like the ending. Although it wasn't left open-ended, it didn't feel like an ending. My exact comment was, "Wait, that's it?"
Despite my criticisms, I think the movie is worth watching. I'd give it 6.5 stars if half stars were allowed (yes, I felt generous and rounded up on my rating).
