Ted Lasso: Inverting the Pyramid of Success (2021)
Somehow this show keeps getting better
I'm not sure what the 'top reviewers' were talking about when they said that this season was worse than the last or went downhill. This season progressively got better. This finale was the perfect close to a wonderful season. The episode tugged on my heart strings, angered me, made me happy, and at the end so excited for the next season. Major props to Nick Mohammed on his brilliant acting this season.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Just perfect
Going into this movie, we all knew it was Chris Evans and RDJ's last Marvel movie. In my opinion, these two guys defined the MCU and helped make it what it is today. The real question became how they were going to exit the MCU and let me just say that Endgame delivered and was the perfect last movie for them.
Endgame wrapped up 11 years of jaw-dropping movies into one 3-hour cinematic masterpiece. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
When you go into this movie, just remind yourself of where this journey started. This may be the last movie for Evans and RDJ but it's a whole new beginning for our new heroes.
Thank you, Marvel and every actor and actress who made this movie the best one yet
Monk (2002)
One of my all-time favorites
I just started watching Monk for the first time about 3 months ago. It instantly became one of my favorites. I wouldn't go as far as saying that this is an objectively amazing series like GoT, but this is the kind of show that you can sit down and enjoy whenever. Tony Shalhoub's Adrian Monk is one of the most compelling characters I have ever seen. I can feel Monk's sadness and pain, something I rarely am able to feel while watching other shows. I'm currently on Season 7 and I'm so sad that I'm almost done but I know I'll be rewatching it time and time again. If you haven't started watching this show, start now. It's on Prime Video right now and I guarantee that if you're into detective shows with a comedic twist, this is for you. Honestly, this is for everyone. Watch it.
Aquaman (2018)
Everything I was hoping for and some!
This movie blew me out of the water (no pun intended). After Justice League, I was seriously concerned about the future of the DCEU, especially Aquaman. Jason Momoa's portrayal of the aquatic hero is amazing so it would've been a shame had the movie been bad.
Thankfully, my concerns were put to rest. This movie was stunning, enjoyable, and exciting. I was glued to the screen the entire time. I didn't want to blink in case I missed something. James Wan created a masterpiece. Every actor and actress killed it. I would've given this movie a 10 but I thought the plot was a little to predictable.
See this movie now!!
Venom (2018)
One hell of a ride
I was extremely excited to see this anti-hero get the justice it deserves after Spider-Man 3. Before I saw it though, I hopped on IMDb and saw the critics gave it a low rating. I'm not sure what movie they saw but they are so wrong about "Venom." The movie was fun, intriguing, and energizing. The only reason I'm not giving this a 9 or 10 is because I felt that there should have been more screen time where Eddie and Venom got used to one another. The moments that they talked were few and far between. When we reached the climax, Venom had changed his mind about Earth yet barely explained why.
Overall, this movie was great and I cannot wait for the sequel with Carnage!
