Magnum, P.I.: The Big Blow (1983)

Laughable

Higgins mock 'English' accent grates more than usually, and thankfully nobody with an American accent has been or (hopefully) ever will be, referred to as 'Your Highness'. And Barry Van Dyke's whining about his World Series ring is typical of the obsession with 'sports' - the opiate of the masses. Overall and as attempt at a mock Agatha Christie lock-in mystery this serving falls rather short. James Doohan, despite few lines, is still head and shoulders above the rest. It is also noticeable that Tom Selleck seems to deliver all his lines in a near falsetto which is rather embarrassing coming from such a big man.

Inept
13 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Where does one start? The asteroid appears to be striking the same country (America of course) repeatedly over a space of hours during which the Earth , presumably, has failed to rotate! The team trekking through the woods stop for a rest, just as the rednecks find their abandoned vehicle. These two were only minutes behind them on the road. So despite the urgency, the team (wimps the lot of them) are having a rest after what can't have been more than a quarter of a mile. Who writes this garbage?

Women are different

Usual ill-conceived rubbish. The most ludicrous thing was the suited and booted military types complete with helmets...except, for some reason, the blond WOMAN! Why??

Stupid

Warning: Spoilers
Susan George (70's sex symbol, looking a bit porky here) arrives home to find her husband dead on the living room floor. Near hysterics she phones the police, The rest of the story is told in flashback and we discover that she killed him, with a frozen leg of lamb, which she then cooks and serves to the attending police. Only...why the hysterics when she finds him? She knows he's dead! So it's just lies to confuse the viewer. And the leg of lamb? How long would that take to cook? All rather paper thin.

Disappointing error
31 March 2020
A lovely episode as were most. But the escaped convict dressed in a raincoat, suit and tie (which must have been donned BEFORE the handcuffs were put on, seemed like a glaring error. Convicts are dressed in prison garb, so they can be identified as convicts..

Absolute garbage

Warning: Spoilers
Thsi has got tobe one of the very worst films it has been my misfortune sit through. It starts badly and gets worse. The dopey bint at the centre of this move clearly has no idea about how to avoid being caught. Once at the hospital her husband rushes in full of concern. Er hang on! Whose husband, The girl has no ID...so how is the husband contacted? Turns oot he wasn't. Alarm bells ring? Nope. He rushes into the hospital and through to IC. What? This is America - the most paranoid security conscious country on earth!. Finally the hero, Dennis Haysbert takes an interest. He asks the question about how the husband was notified. Sorted then? Er no! He doesn't ask the question until weeks after the accident! Some detective. Still, when he finally realises that he's dealing with a psycho killer and located his lair, he descends on the house with the full force of the law. WRONG! He goes alone and doesn't bother to watch out for the PSYCHO KILLER!. Ultimately the 'good guys' survive...but they don't deserve to.

Head shot?
8 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Overall another decent episode BUT someone shot in the head leaves a little puddle of blood? I don't think so! I think most of us have seen enough of this type of thing to KNOW that a headshot splashes blood, bone and brain all over the place. Sadly I think the 13:45 showing time (UK) has blunted the action. Shame!

More nonsense
22 May 2018
Somehow it is believed that teenagers are somehow important. The American obsession with "High School" is probably the reason for all the killings. These people seem to believe that life ends after high school so they have to make their mark. This whole philosophy is pollution in those parts of the world unfortunately subjected to this drivel.

Teenagers are not of any importance or significance whatever!
