Doctor Who: Space Babies (2024) Season 1, Episode 1

Just awful

The Christmas episode and the new Doctor & companion showed some real promise but all of that was blown out of the water by this absolute drivel. The dreadful storyline was only surpassed by the horrible acting by the new companion, as pretty as she is. The new Doctor still has some good promise if only he is given some much better scripts. If they honestly thought that putting some cute babies in as the main focus of the show would rescue the episode they missed the mark by a mile, just check out My Hero version which was much better. The bogey man also was just a pale imitation from the Alien film.

John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)

2 hours 30 minutes of fights

Wonderful if you are a teenager getting an adrenalin rush from fight scenes and have the capacity to completely switch off any sense of credibility. Whilst i love a good fight scene this was just Chapter 3 repeated with a slightly different storyline and an extra 30 minutes. The credibility of totally bulletproof suits and hand guns with massive bullet capacity was a real stretch but a blind assassin who is capable of killing dozens of highly armed and trained ogher assassins? I watched only because i had already watched the ever worse chapters and can only hope that there will not be a chapter 5!

Great UK series wrecked by US involvement

Series 1 & 2 were excellent, exciting and innovative. Series 3 was still ok but just a very streched out single story which was a film (almost a remake of similar older films with similar themes) rather than keeping to shorter, better written episodes. Then the US money and 'joint' production came in and the end was quickly coming. Miracle Day was anything but a miracle, other than it got made. The story was disjointed, poorly written, way too long / boring and the acting dreadful. The americanisation spoiled the show as did the move to the US. I can fully understand why the writer chose to place the show on permanent hiatus! My score is 8 for series 1 & 2, 3 for series 3 and 1 for series 4.

Awful amalgamation of others shows

A huge waste of Ben Millers talent.

I've not seen the original but as far as i can see they have tried to pull together Monk, the Mentallist, Perception and the lack of empathy of House. However, in doing that they forgot to build this around an actual plot line. 4 shows and we guessed the full story within the first 10 minutes. The ongoing storyline between the main charachter and his mother is another wasted distraction. I hope Ben Miller moves on before a second series as his charachter is way too similar to DI Richard Pool and he is in serious danger of stereotyping himself out of work!

Not at all what i expected from the strap lines and publicity. I expected plenty of violence and death but that would just make this a typical revenge movie and this is much better than that. Well worth a watch.

Incomprehensible rubbish

Think the worst bits of Mission Impossible, James Bond and the Matrix. Add wooden acting, unbelieveable characters, stereotypical soundbites and the need for subtitles to hear what is being said and you start to visualise this movie. The story is about as difficult to understand as any i have ever watched, is never explained and is basically ridiculous. I kept watching purely because i thought it must get better or that the story would be explained..it didn't and it wasn't! The only positive is that it looks great.

7500 (2019)

Better than predictable norm

So many films now have to be full of stars, glamour, special effects etc. This is so much better than that. Well written, well acted and full of emersive suspense. A really enjoyable, intense watch if you get through the first incredibly slow first 12 minutes. Ok, a predictable ending but that's ok, better than the usual happy ending for all. Reality I suspect is that the fighters would have blown the plane out of the sky as soon as it fell into the hands of the terrorists and was aimed to crash into a city?

Time for Doctor Who to die

It is with greatest sadness as a true Doctor who fan for me to say, for the second time, this program must come to its end. This series has been badly over written, full of liberal political statement, over acted and just boring. One more over long, political statement and I will fall asleep during an episode. What happened to great villains, clever escapes and just that mix of the Doctor being on the edge of good and evil? As a fan of 50 years I had to watch every episode but hated it all, I just can't watch any more. I at a loss as to what audience the writers are aiming at. My thought is please either stop or get back to the basics and rediscover the Doctor Who we all love and want to follow.

Worst comedy ever?

I have been an avid TV comedy watcher for 50 years and can't remember anything worse than this. I love Hugh Laurie but he must have either been paid $millions or not read the scripts. The writer came up with a decent premise but then forgot to write any funny lines or even any visually funny scenes. I forced myself to watch 2 episodes but that was really hard to do. Take my word and don't put yourself through the pain and just find something, in fact, anything to watch other than this.
