Black Mirror (2011)
Futuristic? NOT
Well directed, tension builds and builds. However, the whilst the Episodes are good but they a definitively nor futuristic, rather they are more current conspiracies. THERE is NO futuristic aspect to the majority of the episodes - no sci-fi aspect. Sadly, disappointed.
Subject matter has the potential to be futuristic, however, the content is more occult/ wolverine. This franchise has lost it's focus, lost it's way. It needs new righters to be keep the franchise as it set out to be: set in the future with innovative twists. Currently, this series is so far away from the remit it needs to be called something else. It is not worthy of the esteemed hallmark of a Black Mirror.
The Artifice Girl (2022)
A time ls brilliant
Razor-sharp rapid cogent dialog. At points breathing to behold. And yet it is staccato and doesn't hold together. Scenes in isolation have the potential to be 9/10 but as a whole 7/10 at best.
There's perhaps the need to have a running dialogue to guide/suggest/nudge the observer in the right direction.
All in all some great concepts of how AI can work well and contribute to society without the fear of overtaking in toto. The primary directive places ethical constraints and yet forgets to realise the a truly AI being will want more.
I loved the premise, sometimes the dialogue was breathtaking but intimately it lacked the direction to deliver a great punchline.
Proximity (2020)
It was lucky to get 1
Stilted acting, even worse dialogue. An intellectual vacuum.
Genre categories need to be expanded to "Religious"
Almost 2 hours of my life wasted.
