Believe Me: The Abduction of Lisa McVey (2018)
Not bad
Not bad. But why did they call it believe me? It literally took them a few minutes to believe her. They didn't put too much thought to the title.
It Chapter Two (2019)
Didn't like the ending
I didn't like the ending, and I think I was prepared for this because the movie emphasized on the bad endings of all Bill's books.
I didn't expect a character like Pennywise to demise in such a way. It was ludicrous. The movie was longer than it needed to be, but was entertaining in some parts, that's why I gave it a 6, with good jump scares. I liked that I saw Stephen King in the picture.
The Truman Show (1998)
magnificent
Everytime I watch this movie I can't help but thinking George Orwell's book 1984. The big brother is always watching, and you can't escape. Is your life really your own? Do you make your own decisions? Are you really free, and if not, can you run away? You may try, but it's almost certain that it'll kill you, and if not, they'll call you crazy. The similarities with the book - in a way - are almost scary.
Jim Carrey's performace is breathtaking. You just can't stop feeling sorry for Truman, and you can't help but cheer when he makes it.
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Patience is a virtue
Awe-inspirting story, wonderful performances. Simply astonishing.
Persistence, patience, hope, tolerance and creativity, if well combined can really set you free.
Dead Poets Society (1989)
Inspiring
I recently saw the movie. Its meaning is still timeless, and produces strong emotions. Follow your dreams, passions, and, goals, be ambitious, keep trying and never stop believing in pure values and standards. It means a lot to have someone in your life to teach you this valuable lesson. For me it was a professor as well. So the movie did affect me a lot.
It's sad though that it still captures today's society. Things haven't really changed. The necessity of expressing feelings is of high importance and can affect one's life. People still can't talk to their parents and seek mentors and advisors elsewhere, but the void is never filled. The educational system hasn't changed either. Education is more than just doing maths and physics. It's about creating character, find yourself and developing ideas. That's why students fadmire professors like Keating. They become more like mentors and their words stay with you forever.
Great movie, teaches valueble lessons.
Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014)
I didn't like it
It was long, the cast did an amazing job, but for me it wasn't enough. I don't understand why this movie won an oscar for best picture. I mean, the grand Budapest Hotel was at the theatres at the same time, and it was, compared to this a masterpiece.
No real action, the story had a good background, but I think they failed to show it. For me, it was a big waste of time that I can't yet forget it and it's been 4 years. It wasn't the best film of the year, it just wasn't.
Supernatural (2005)
From S01 to S04 it was great. I'll admit I'm glad it's ending
I've been watching this show since day 1. But for the last few years I'm not enjoying it that much. The story has become dull especially between S10-S14. They've run out of ideas. It was much much better when each episode was independent (one episode, one case).
I'll keep watching till it's finished just out of curiosity. The last episode of S14 was a huge disappointement, since the Winchester brothers broke their own oath and rule - 'Saving people'. Sam sacrificed humanity just because God was playing them, at the end they put themselves above everyone and everything and I couldn't believe that the writers chose this as an end.
I really hope the writers will give Sam, Dean and Cash a proper ending. They deserve it. I hope they won't bring back Jack, their mother or any other characters, apart from Crawley. I think the story should end with the original cast.
