Big Mouth (2017–2025)
2/10
awful and confusing
8 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a fan of a lot of humor, and I enjoy the fascination of the Life as a Teenager, considering I am one. But there is something about Big Mouth that makes it feel lacking than a show. This show has got to be awful, not for Teen standards, but for all the reasons. The animation in this show is bland and ugly, these backgrounds or scenery have no charm and give a boring vibe. But the characters and animations are what get me. It feels terrible with how these figures move, talk, or just stand there. Sometimes they make me feel creeped out with the way they stare. These stories and plots of episodes hardly make sense as the writers and actors reflect on their own childhood experiences when reaching puberty. Despite the fact that these episode's focus can be absurd for being based on Teen Dilemma that just leaves me wondering. The characters and people are just screaming clichés and poorly written. I hate them all, they're either obnoxious, dull, barely noticeable, or just annoying. The voice actors are supposed to be kids around young teen and tween ages, although they sound like full grown men and women that doesn't make a little sense. The Humor is all over the place, it tries to feel centered to teens but just makes puns and quips to figures I think oblivious teens wouldn't understand. With that and the stories, it feels unbearable and a terrible mess. This show tries to be something different and somewhat special, but it feels run-down earning praise that doesn't even work. People say this is a whole new direction of mature animation. but this show is instead of a rehash that copies other mature cartoon shows with the same premise of growing teens who swear and do stupid things, like getting a pillow pregnant.

I honestly don't recommend this bad show, go watch something else.

Childhood Fears in 2017
13 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
We all had a fear when we were little, the boogeyman, ghosts, school, etc, and all that can still haunt us either way, even when getting older. One example being the notorious Pennywise the clown, birthed by the famous novelist himself, Stephen King. king manages to bring us a character in a story where no matter what age or person you are, you will be afraid. The original story managed to spawn a TV series in the 90's that wasn't really a movie but a series spanning over three hours. It wasn't that bad in general, the first hour was okay, but the rest was just cluttered and confusing. But when I was little that Clown scared me, Tim Curry was born to scare children just by laughing or staring at the camera while mocking you.

Years passed and we were soon introduced to a image on the internet of the teaser image of Pennywise for the 2017 It movie. My mixed feeling for this look were that he looked ridiculous, and what happened to your forehead dude? But later in the summer the world was given the official trailers! Honestly, I was still mixed if this was gonna be good or another sleazy attempt like 2010 Nightmare on Elm Street or 2013 Carrie. Finally, after a long wait, It had reached cinemas and I saw it. Children disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, neighborhood kids work together to fight against Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries. In this movie, we are introduced to some great characters, when people think of child actors in movies they imagine sleeping at a middle school reenactment of Romeo and Juliet. But watching these kids was still great, they have spot on emotions and are slick with pulling off some actual fright in their eyes. Pennywise was just amazing, watching bill skarsgård as the Iconic clown was a thriller, that man scared me multiple times with his tension and that voice. I think Bill was just as sweet as the other actors and supporting cast members. The Scenery was cool, this movie does feel like Maine or any type of country town with how we see even the most creepiest thing when the clown appears. The story does take place in the eighties with the looks, vehicles, and slang, and the young actors do pull of a decade worthy movie. While sometimes the backgrounds may seems simple and bland, but that rarely happens, and we get more detailed and chilling scenes that could seem like a fever dream or Satan's imagination. During the part where a kid is trapped in a clunked room with creepy dolls and figurines, I was expecting some baby faced dolls or nutcracker rip-offs. No, a lot of them were creepy with soul crushing eyes, pale clown faces, and some that made me wish I didn't sit in the first couple of rows.

The scares are somewhat great, I love the building tension it brings when they're faced with their nightmares or running away from the clown. This movie doesn't shy away from creeping you out with a beast that can kill you or the feeling of being in a circus. While some scares weren't that impressive on some levels whether if they tried or the trailer ruined it, the rest were great with how they stood. The effects or makeup did look fake on some moments, sometimes characters will have some pale face makeup that look cheap. This movie does have some strong gore in it, with characters being pulled apart and blood splattering all over a room. It could make some people squeamish, but it feels overused and may seem like they're trying to be practical.

Overall, I loved this movie, it is great representation of the original Stephen King story, and I have to give it credit for attempting to make me enjoy the ride, and I did. I enjoyed Richie, Beverly, Mike, and the rest of the Losers. The acting was talented, this movie has some fantastic performances, especially by these young teens, the realistic portrayal of kids feels impactful and felt bad when a kid died. The scares are great, while some may not be spot on or terrifying, a lot still pulled through. I enjoyed IT 2017 because it brought a more refined adaptation with still some fresh new relations and scares. I can't wait for a possible sequel because this was fun to see and I am excited for more!

Enjoyable to some demographics
25 April 2017
In 2011 Sony Pictures brought a revival movie to the original comic and 80's animated TV show The Smurfs that seemed like a good idea...right? WRONG! the disastrous Live-Action Smurfs film that had high celebrity voices, Irrelevany Product Placement, and cameos that didn't help the story at all. the film and fell flat with barely making back its budget that left adults childhoods ruined. Later in 2013 was the just as bad sequel to The Smurfs that failed more than the first with the same premise of cameos, unnecessary characters and product placement, and was downright awful spawning the films to roll in peyo's grave. Later in 2017 is a fresh breath of air from the terrible Smurfs movies that Sony made, despite this new being made by Sony. Smurfs The Lost Village is Directed by Kelly Asbury, the same director behind Shrek 2, Shrek the Third, Gnomeo and Juliet, and Spirit. The Movie's plot has best friends Smurfette (Demi Lovato), Brainy (Danny Pudi), Clumsy (Jack McBrayer) and Hefty (Joe Manganiello) use a map that guides them through the Forbidden Forest and wonderland that's filled with magical creatures. Their adventure leads them on a course to discover the biggest secret in Smurf history as they race against time and the evil wizard Gargamel (Rainn Wilson) to find a mysterious village. The plot is your basic Lord of the Rings like quest where the characters are forced to handle environments and new creature that would either friend or eat them. It is a reused basic scheme that Hollywood uses, but it's the execution to the specific details of what matters. The Characters are mostly reminiscent to the creator, Peyo's vision, and maybe some changes that either compel or drag the story either feeling annoying or acceptable. I feel that most of the background Smurfs would have been more reliable and interesting rather than the main smurfs. While the acting is great with the voices not being original and rather that happy-go-lucky charm you either find endearing or redundant. The animation I will say is great though, and seeing the smurfs having more of a look to the comics did feel charming with how the other two, felt...creepy. This movie has it's feel of the Trolls film from 2016 in which they kinda stole their expedition with revealing them in a musical standard. Despite the similar impact, the movie does feel better with the movie barely spewing pop culture references and worthless innuendos. Overall, The Smurfs lost village is good movie despite the childlike humor in most scenes while giving a more character impact whether if you found the useful or useless to the plot. The Plot is executed well in which i give credit for being better than the CGI smurfs movies. This movie can be better for some demographics specifically for younger audiences while boring adults or older teens. The movie is what i call enjoyable for a Point of View whether if you are a child with a pov for thrill seeing characters going on an adventure facing many adversity and discovering a new life. You can pay respect respect for this film considering it has a lower budget than the other terrible Smurfs movies of 60 million with the others being over 100 million, that is bull. I thought the movie was good despite some concerns in the characters not being that reminiscent from Peyo's original vision. If your child or little brother wants a smile on his face, let him watch this movie, and it is a better excuse to just enjoy it better than the previous trash films. B

Phenomenal
20 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
"Beauty and The Beast" is a Live-Action Disney Adaptation of the beloved 90's Disney classic Animated Movie of the same name based on the French Fairy tale "La Belle et la Bête" in the 1700's. The Original Disney Movie is a timeless movie that is now another Disney Live- Adaption along with Cinderella, Jungle Book, and Pete's Dragon. The Movie is Directed by Bill Condon, the same mad man who directed a couple of Twilight movies, well my expectations just flew out the roof! But this is a movie review, so let's talk about the movie, it's pretty good. Beauty and the Beast follows most of the original Disney story while making a few changes that I mildly Disagreed with. But the direction was still impressive with the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle's enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast's hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within. The CGI is truly spectacular to see, and the effects and environments felt as similar as the original which made it feel just as appealing. The appliance characters still reminded me of what they truly are in appearance and performance. The one thing that got me though is the dead-eyed expressions of some of them like the teapot and cogsworth The Acting is amazing to watch with the musical performances magical and outstanding to see with the same scenes. Emma Watson plays Belle and leaves me impressed with how she executed the performance. Dan Stevens Beast was truly impressive with how he provided anger and emotion within the acting. Luke Evans as Gaston was the best, he is perfect for the role and made it great as making him Scary yet Comedic. The one things I have ups and downs about is the new changes it made. In the original, Beast's character was portrayed as a dumbed character as he didn't know how to read or have manners, With this in mind, this gives Belle a better reason to trust him since of teachings to him. In the new version, Beast was shown to be more brighter with him owning an entire library mentioning how their in Greek. And with this in mind, we see how they can have a close relationship when Beast shows how much he has more of a minded self, even one scene he quotes Shakespeare. They also managed to bring back most songs like be our guest and the Gaston song, but also showing us new songs. Watching the new songs has more of a classic Disney feel to it including "Evermore," a sympathy song for beast after Belle leaves the castle to save her father from the town, that was great though, i loved Steven's voice. Another concept that was brought was when Beast dies near the end when Belle is next to him crying, which still makes me sad in both movies. In the original, we never got to see what happened to them during that part, so they brought it in this one. They split both acts with Beast dying to an scene when we watch the appliances slowly turn into regular antiques which really made me feel emotional in a theater. And when the curse is broken the appliances turn back to humans along with the Beast which was still heartfelt Overall, Beauty and the Beast was a pretty impressive that I didn't mind watching because it is a colorful and fantastically executed movie despite the changes. The acting is outstanding and decent to watch with the characters being likable and dramatic. The CGI is truly visual magic still having it's Jungle Book scenery flare, I thought was impressive. This movie is beautiful, well acted, and a introduce us a marvelous story. B+

Get Out (I) (2017)

Impressive Horror Film
13 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Jordan Peele Directs this Horror Movie that left me pretty compelled on how this film was executed. Peele also directed Comedy Movies including "Keanu, Wanderlust, and The Sidekick," so that makes me more interested of what he could do with this type of Movie Genre.

Get Out's plot is based on a Black Man named Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams), have reached the meet-the- parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy and Dean. At first, Chris reads the family's overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter's interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he never could have imagined. Wow, and it was a awesome experience for me in the Theater!

The Performances by the actors was pretty impressive with each character having their own story to tell through emotion and less explaining, and which i need more in Movies. Kaluuya and Williams couple act was cute and entertaining for me when they would act sweet to each other, and it helps me support how separate race relationships work.

The Scares are minimum with your usual pop-out scares and false scares that feel reused in other horror movies. Yet the scares are also replaced with the annoying toning when characters will run at each other than run the other direction. That felt annoying after a while but still had their own suspenseful moments that got to me.

Overall, Get Out was a pretty decent Horror Movie I will recommend for the suspense, acting, and the story with it's plot and characters that handle both racism and Cult like levels of heart drops. The scares are sometimes good and sometimes boring to see, and the camera movements can be irregular in tone, but still has me on edge.

The Powerpuff Girls (2016–2023)

Screw YOU Cartoon Network
3 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This is nothing but the the most shameful, rude, laziest, and stupidest insult to one of the best shows that have been known on this decade running channel. The PowerPuff Girls is one of the most funniest, coolest, and one of the most memorable cartoon shows that appeared on CN and whooped ass. The show had six seasons and an actual feature film that made it one of the best the channel made. Sugar, Spice, and Everything nice, these were the ingredients chosen to create the perfect show, UNTIL CARTOON NETWORK WOULDN'T LEAVE IT ALONE! The show is nothing but gimped, weird, has lazy animation, and is terrible with more levels than what you expect. Cartoon Network has really gone down with their quality, and this sums it up. F-

Entertaining!
3 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Phil Lord and Chris Miller the directors of "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" and "21 Jump Street" brought us the 2014 comedic animated film "The Lego Movie." It is called one of the best animated movies of the 2010 decade era, which is the truth. One of the characters is a Lego Batman (Will Arnett) and he has that outstanding performance that leads to him having his own spin-off movie directed by Miller and Lord.

Bruce Wayne is a big time Billionaire that is struggling with his secret identity, Batman, and is forced to take care of his adopted son which he hardly notices. The child ends up finding out his identity which leads to Batman making him his new sidekick, Robin, and while Gotham is going through trouble. Villains are wrecking havoc across the city and the Bat has to attempt to save his city while protecting Robin from his arch enemies.

The movie is truly great, the animation is still the same with it's realistic look making it seem like realistic Lego Bricks. the performances by Will Arnett as Batman again, Michael Cera as his adopted son and sidekick Robin, and Zach Galifianakis as the Joker. The story reminds me of a sitcom meets Gotham, Lego, and more entertaining for a younger audience. The comedy is impressive and creative as usual but still having it's flaws i found a bit annoying. Sometimes the characters will say or do something funny than another, another, and another, and it's hard to understand while laughing. The jokes can be funny but too much can be annoying or distracting, and that doesn't mean it isn't funny but too rushing for audiences including myself.

Overall, "The Lego Batman Movie" was truly amazing with it's animation, characters, story, and humor. Despite too much comedy thrown at us, it still makes it entertaining to watch I will admit. I will recommend this movie and let you watch it for being for the family and friends for bringing the Bat in a whole new world of Lego and a new light! A-

Logan (2017)
10/10
One Of The Best Of 2017
1 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Logan is directed by James Mangold, the same director behind "The Wolverine 2013" and "Walk the Line," so that means you know it will be both good and bad. Except, it wasn't it was an amazing film, and i was pretty surprised considering The Wolverine felt good at the begging and a bit bizarre from the rest, but this one i different. The movie is rated R with some hardcore gore and action that really made Logan the monster he is, and this movie is R rated so be prepared.

Logan A.K.A Wolverine is once again played by Hugh Jackman and just like Hugh, Logan is reaching old age where he is forced to handle it's usual effects on him, Especially as a Superhero. So the plot contains Logan being forced to escort a girl across the country lands where they are also being followed by the enemies both after him and the girl. So we are introduced the story with both drama and surprisingly well made action that isn't too shaky and spastic like other films trying to be cool.

The film has some amazing acting from both Dafne Kenn and from Jackman with scenes that make you feel more into what the characters are with emotion and comedy they bring that i truly enjoyed. With the ending involving a both great and heartwarming ending that made me enjoy this film. The one thing i will complain about is the toning in the scenes that occur in some acts that felt questionable where in one scene thy fight a whole group of villains and in the next it is over and everything is calm and it felt a bit weird. The movie felt like both a action western adventure with some great action that is filled with gore and moments where i say "That Guy is Dead." I loved this movie and it was honestly one of the best films to watch in 2017 and it felt like a great experience in the theater. So i recommended Logan for the Action, Drama, Humor, and over the top violence that made it seem more bad-ass. A+

Trolls (2016)
7/10
Good but Bad
28 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
In the 1990's were a famous toy line of small Troll dolls with bug-eyes and frizzy colorful hair despite still looking the same in design that still creeps me out today. A decade later DreamWorks Animation Studios said to themselves that this deserves a movie.

I have some opinions that i found both good and bad about it, and I may be wrong but it can still count. The movie has it's moments were characters can be funny, annoying, cute...maybe too cute. This movie's animation I love about it with it's fluffy feeling about it that reminds me of walking through a Toys R Us and in a colorful teddy bear aisle.

The characters I mostly relate to Branch (Justin Timberlake) with his grouchy attitude, paranoid for danger, and isn't a parting type especially a scene where he throws a guitar in a fire, I snickered. The main character Poppy (Anna Kendrick) is always enthusiastic, creative, and is an amazing singer, despite all those features she still shows emotion that still makes me enjoy them the most.

The Story feels like a reminder with a Lord of The Rings like adventure with the two main characters Poppy and Branch attempting to rescue other trolls from ogres that eat them to feel happy, that is sad. The plot still feels like another Dreamworks plot what reminds me of Croods, Puss in Boots, and Madagascar, but still feels good with their execution.

Personally I am starting to get sick when it comes to animated children's films that decide to put in new trendy songs like how a teaser for this had the whip song which was a huge insult actually. This movie features some and it's own song "I got this feeling" by Justin Timberlake (Voice actor of Branch)

The humor can be both annoying and reused throughout the film while some can make me crack up so the comedy is a minimum.

Overall, the movie was good with cute and creative characters and animation that i thought was still appreciative by DreamWorks as usual. I would recommend this movie for a quick watch and enjoy the concept of what it brings with the music it brings.

Sausage Party (2016)
6/10
What I expected
27 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The Movie "Sausage Party" is a animated stoner comedy by Seth Rogan, the same man behind "Pineapple Express" and "The Interview", with the main setting in a grocery store called Shop-well with our main characters as sausages and Buns(no joke). When i first saw the trailers months before it came out in August of 2016 I wasn't pretty surprised with the violent horror movie fashion and repeated swearing of "Fuck" and "Shit" with the whole plot explained briefly in under two minutes. The store is where the movie mostly takes place with a sausage "Frank" (Seth Rogan) and his girlfriend Hot Dog Bun Brenda (Kristin Wig) with his friend Carl (Jonah Hill) the store's food are always alive and talking but humans can't notice their body parts and human-like movement Most of the food men are designed with cute cartoon gloves and eyes instead of realistic eyes and limbs, but most food woman are designed with realistic eyes and limbs which feels a bit sexist. The food believe the Humans are all gods that choose food to be sent to heaven and give them the chance to do some actual food porn (Again, no joke) Yet, the same day Frank, Carl, and Brenda are chosen, Something Goes wrong with the three being separated and we are greeted to new and "interesting" characters while Frank has to uncover the truth behind the "GODS" that actually eat them when they are chosen...

That's all i will explain because of spoilers but this movie is what the trailer was swearing, Horror-themed food violence, and some other movie references. The movie has it's usual Seth Rogan stoner humor with some impressive animation, I will admit the animation is great. With some moments that could easily scare an adult with some gross moments I had, and that really did get me.

Overall, Sausage Party is pretty funny film as what you expect from Seth and his other celebrity friends. It is not the best Animated Film despite some controversy that went on with the animators working unpaid overtime. The animation is both dark and impressive that has that real-world concept you can enjoy, and still be a bit sick about. We are also given that illusion where it is what if this object was alive and talking and this movie executes it well with how they describe background characters despite some other films with a similar concept. This adult film was pretty impressive with vulgar humor you might think is too much but it is better to forget. i will recommend this film for a couple of laughs and appreciate the acting, animation, and how it is executed like other Rogan Films.

Annoying and Stupid
27 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
WOW this movie was a total piece of of trash to watch! You would expect the animation and voice acting to be impressive and worth something, NOPE! The movie's "Plot" at the beginning, felt similar to Happy Feet with a Polar Bear named Norm (Rob Schneider) who wants to dance and be free from everyone else then things get bizarre with him leaving to the big city to become famous and live a new life, that is just redundant.

we meet annoying and odd characters played by Heather Graham (Vear) and Ken Jeong and we are greeted to Mr. Greene (Ken Jeong) a businessman who wants to convince Norm to start homes in the...Arctic. Who wants to live in the South Pole? This movie is also filled with weird lemmings that literally rip-off the Minions with their squeaky voices and annoying movement that work for Mr. Greene, for a entrepreneur that is pretty stupid of workers Blah, Blah, Blah more ridiculous plot and Greene is defeated and it ends with some dumb dance party

Norm Of The North is a awful and badly made film, and i am right! The animation SUCKS and is bouncy, spastic, and dull, with reusable character designs. The Story makes no Damn sense with ridiculous cheap clichés and jokes you can see in other animated movies. The acting is cringe worthy with Rob Schneider sticking to being a minority in Adam Sandler films than a polar bear. Most of the music and soundtrack is some cheap music you can get off from some random website. This movie is a broken, cheap, and a queasy mess that deserves no recognition.
