Barbarian (2022)
I wanted to walk out of the theatre
I just don't get the high ratings. To start with, the trailer shows it all. There was nothing extra except something my husband and I laughed outload at. You will get it when you see it. You can't miss what I'm saying.
The movie starts with 45 minutes of character building. Finally, something happens and then another character is added and we sit back and let the character build again and again. Unfortunately, there is only a small amount of horror/thrill to it. Lot's of unforeseen laughter.
I definitely recommend saving your money and watching this on (netflix etc.) Then you can walk away from it guilt free, knowing you didn't pay for this on the big screen.
The Dare (2019)
Horror...Thriller...Gore...at its best!
What would you do if you were locked in a room with others?
This movie was really, really good. I have watched these type of movies since I was young and this one did it for me (maybe how Carrie did it for you?). I even had to look down at times. Really! Pure Thriller, Absolute Gore, Horror at its finest. If you like these kind of movies, WATCH! You won't be sorry. From beginning to end the thrill, the fight and the story continues. I feel it deserves a high rating since it captured me all the way through. Watch it with someone, keep the lights on, close the blinds and lock the door. There will be a scream, maybe at the end.
The Void (2016)
1980's here we come
If you love the 1980's horror movies, you will love this. A terrific horror movie that reminds me of all the 80's movies I love. Think Alien, The Thing, Halloween, Event Horizon and more. The movie is wrapped around each other with crazy to come up with a great movie.
The Staircase (2022)
Be prepared for extreme violence.
What a mini series. I wish I knew a bit more about it before hand. The story is captivating and confusing all at the same time. It's based on a true story. The violence of her death is so incredibly real I though I was going to be sick. There were many times it went over and over it to play out how her death occurred. It is not for everyone and for sure not for kids.
Outer Range (2022)
Save your time
To be honest I thought this series was going to great. Started off really well, but slowly went down a rabbit hole. Too many characters with little explanation. It was confusing. I felt obligated to watch it until the end but new I would never get my time back.
Dream House (2011)
I liked it Better than most people rated
An unusual twist in this movie kept me watching it through. Great cast and good story, lots of suspense. Plus it's under 90 minutes. I recomend giving it a try. It's entertaining.
The Unforgivable (2021)
Loved it, a must watch
What a beautiful, emotional movie with surprises. Sandra Bulluck did and amazing job and my heart was with her every step. ❤ I was compelled every moment. A must watch.
Things Heard & Seen (2021)
What thriller?
With a great cast and promising thriller, it fell flat. I didn't know where it was taking me. Thriller? Murder? Ghost story? It was all over the place. Such a shame to waste great acting abilities on a terrible movie.
Jaguar (2021)
Over the top
First episode was promising. It's seemed like they were going for a James Bond energy but it became so far fetched that I turned it off after episode 4.
The Silencing (2020)
Way better than the reviews
Quite a thriller. Makes you guess until the end on who really was the killer. I was very engaged throughout the whole movie. Great acting by the main character.
Loved that it was filmed in Sudbury, ON.
Red Dot (2021)
Don't pay attention to the poor rating
What a psychological thriller. Twist after twist. I thought it was a great movie. Had me hanging until the end.
Final Destination 5 (2011)
Enjoyed the movie as much as the first.
Enjoyable, thrilling and a great surprise ending for original fans.
Island Zero (2018)
Engaging thriller that fell short.
Enjoyed 3/4 of the movie but the story slowly dropped to being unbelievable. Poor acting except for the 2 main characters. I was hoping for more but ended up being disappointed.
Dead of Winter (2014)
Not a bad movie
Gave it a 6 because CG was bad and many flaws that should have been edited. Acting was good and so was the story.
Altered Minds (2013)
Very intense psychological thriller
Very sad but keeps you on your toes until the end.
Enter Nowhere (2011)
Way better than I expected
Very ingenious writing. Excellent acting for a low budget film. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice twist at the end.
Torden (2020)
Loved the movie.
It turned out to be what I was hoping for. Would love a sequel.
Black Mountain Side (2014)
Hoping for more, but fell short
Story is interesting but fell short at the end. Decent acting, beautiful Canadian scenery. Wish there was more to the story.
It Chapter Two (2019)
Entertaining
I was happy that this 3 hour movie didn't feel long. It was packed with entertainment. There was alot of CG but it was well done. The adult characters were matched very well with the children from the first movie. Overall it was a good movie to see. Loved Stephen Kings cameo.
