They/Them (2022)
I spit on your grave meets red state.... lite
It was better than a I thought ...
I am glad they made a horror movie
about/ for / including the LGBT community.
Except for a few brief explicit sex scenes it felt a little like a movie for middle school or high school kids.
Some have said there isn't enough gore or slashing.
That varies in horror movies.
It IS a horror movie.
They are different kinds of horror movies.
I don't know what it got such low rating.
There have been all kinds of horror movies about all kinds of social issues.
I Spit on a Your Grave and Red State represent societal issues and beliefs.
It does have room for improvement. The pacing in some parts could of been better. It could have built up more suspense added a few more scenes to build more tension.
I felt bad some of who's were supposed to be the bad guys. I was a little bit uneasy with making them out to be a monster. It would be difficult to make a horror film about this. It is a very difficult thing for many people. I think making the film shorter and being careful is better than hurting anyone in the process.
I liked the characters and it was a solid movie.

Cape Wraith / Meadowlands
To the person who insinuated Americans don't want to watch a movie that makes them think,
I'm American and I do want to watch a story that unfolds slowly taking time to develop characters and plot.
I guess that's why I almost exclusively watch British programs.
I will rewatch a British series or movie before I will watch American shows.
Once I started watching British shows I couldn't go back. The stories are so compelling I find myself staying up till the wee hours watching more.
To be fair there are a few American shows that surprise me and are good but not very often.
I love a good story and I feel like I'm stuck in America with people who can't tell one. It's depressing.
I am so happy I can stream channels like BBC, Acorn, and PBS or I would just shrivel up and die without some kind of real art that I get from British Programing.
Meadowland was one who of those series, it hooked me and kept me coming back. The actors were talented and the series was engaging and well written.
