Unsurprisingly disappointed
8 April 2024
An overly vocal, speed train of a mess. The tenderness of the book was missing from every scene. Sometimes saying nothing, the quiet of a scene speaks volumes. There was not one moment to breath. You didn't get the chance to fall in love with each character. The connections were missing. I didn't find any of the cast gelled well. Every relationship was so forced. It just felt like a mess from start to finish. And the acting.... from some very fine actors was just laughable. Embarrassing even. In my opinion a waste at every turn. The costumes were about the only part I enjoyed. And trust me I did want to love it.

Enthralling
18 February 2024
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Time flew as I was engaged and gripped to my seat. Absolutely brilliant casting from top to bottom, and what a cast! Eric Bana doesn't disappoint with a strong but subtle performance. Every character was well developed and stood out. The scenery was stunning. Something you don't get to see too often in movies. Just to hear the Australian bird life was touching for me. Most of all the plot was riveting. I'd urge you to go see this movie if you love a good mystery with twists and turns that really make you question and think. I assure you you won't be disappointed!

Sick of evil being jammed down our throats
21 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I only came because of Christopher Waltz. Within the first 5-10 minutes a child (supposedly possessed by the devil) murders the boss referred to as god. The next 20 minutes included drugs, a violent game where to win you have to kill the baby, workplace sexual harassment & bullying, & homosexual fellatio. There was not one redeeming quality in the first 30 minutes. I'm so sick of shows creating and normalising evil and demonic content. I watch less and less tv and so does everyone I know. Time to bring back some wholesome content. Otherwise I suggest getting outside and doing something active.

Never found Chris Rock funny and this didn't help.
6 March 2023
I know very little about Chris Rock and his work. I only know him from the Madagascar movies. I thought I'd give him a go in the hopes of some much needed laughs. Alas, I lasted just 15 minutes and I assure you that was pushing it. Way to crude, awful language, and the distasteful jokes just weren't funny even if they weren't distasteful. I don't know if it's the way he talks but he sees like an old man trying to hold on. I honestly didn't laugh once. I didn't bother wasting any more time. I couldn't stomach any more if it was going to continue on that trend. Not for me. But you never know it might be for you.

Shameful Director
3 December 2022
Charlie Minn. I've never been so disgusted. There was no need for all the footage of the victims, especially over and over again. The families shouldn't have to see this. I don't feel they could watch this and feel a sense of happiness with their loved ones stories being told. Your so called investigative reporting just came across as rude and disrespectful. Sure mistakes are made and tactics can always be improved. But in a situation never before seen, in the heat of the moment, trying to follow your training but adjusting to the situation at hand with information from all angles. I'd like to see how you could of perfectly saved the day.

Biggest load of horse shiz
8 August 2022
For the love of gosh. Biggest piece of horse shiz. It's not even worth describing the condescending and leftist agenda. Seek entertainment elsewhere ............................................................................

If I wanted smut I'd watch every other piece of crud on TV
7 January 2021
I had such high hopes. I love period films. The costumes and production pieces are stunning. The modern input of material choices is seamless and beautiful. But the strong sex scenes have ruined it for me. The acting for me is overworked. I watch period film for their authenticity, for their reminder of simpler times & where morals actually meant something.

Never knew this story. Deeply impacted.
13 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I'm from Australia. I'd never heard this story, nor did I know it before watching this movie. I was initially drawn by the actors Miles Teller, Josh Brolin, Jeff Bridges, Jennifer Connelly and more. This movie showed love, courage, determination, what a family is. I was not prepared for this outcome and it hit me like a freight train. Uncontrollable sobbing ensued. I think this movie leaves a beautiful memory of some fun and amazing men. Very impactful. I've researched these men and hotshot teams since this movie. This movie made me want to learn more. I also love the theme song 'Hold the light' by Dierks Bentley, so beautiful I play it over and over again. This is one of my favourite movies that I watch often.

Katherine Waterston alone will make you loathe this film
12 October 2019
I was so excited to see the continuation of this franchise. However, I've never been so disappointment. Well, except for Emma Watson in Harry Potter. She was always guaranteed to be unimpressive.

I feel no connection nor empathy towards majority of these characters. Katherine Waterston's performance of Tina is BEYOND annoying. She is so painful it psychically makes me cringe. Words cannot not describe my distaste for her. Her constant sad face brings the whole tone of the movie down. Ezra Miller does no better. His demeanour although warranted by his treatment is lacking in believability of his portrayal. Now Colin, as much as I like him as an actor. His character is completely disjointed. I know he is meant to be but I feel it's poorly written.

Let's not start on Eddie. I don't have the strength to write forever on how disappointing he is. He brings very little and continues the trend throughout.

The only saving grace is Jacob played beautifully by Dan Fogler. His interactions with Alison Sudol are a delight to watch. His character brings joy and tenderness to this movie.
