Ultimate Avengers II (2006)
Worse than the first one but still good
I REALLY liked the first Ultimate Avengers movie. It had a superb animation style, it showed a team-up between some of my favorite Marvel Comics (who if you ask me is a little better than DC comics) characters (Thor was under-appreciated) and it had an interesting story (although it was a bit similar to the way the JL members met).
After seeing that movie Ultimate Avengers 2 was the movie I mostly anticipated. I knew that it was going to introduce the Black Panther and that the Shatauri (sorry if I misspelled it) would return. Having seen the Fantastic Four series I knew that Rakanda had lots of vibranium and so I anticipated a bit of the plot.
Anyway, after I saw the second movie, DC comics became my favorite comic book publisher. Why, well, in one word, because the movie disappointed me.
Don't READ AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE.
The movie was too short, I don't like how they put emphasis on Captain America - Blakc Widow or Wasp-Giant Man relationship (I don't want a soap opera), the Hulk and Thor were SOOO under-used and, by far the worst aspect of the movie, the death of Giant Man made me throw the movie out the window after I had seen it. I don;t like it when heroes die, because I don't watch super hero movies so that evil may triumph over a good, IN ANY WAY. If Giant man does not come back somehow in Ultimate Avengers 3, a big boo for Marvel.
Don;t get me wrong, the movie is not bad, but it focuses more on issues from real life like love, courage, etc. than on making a cool and developed plot. Anyway, hopefully the sequel will make it better.
If you are a Marvel fan or if you liked the first movie, watch it. Otherwise, no way Jose.
Equilibrium (2002)
Very good movie
I really liked this movie. It was about a theme that FASCIANTED me: a world without feelings. I wondered how it would be like. I have seen BIG BROTHER (the movie, not the show) but this is different. I liked how the world was made, how it looked, the names: Tetragramaton, Neather, etc. Also, the scene where Preston beings to feel, while listening to Beethoven or the one where he tears the white sheet in front of the window to see the sunrise are BRILLIANT. It really shows what could happen in a world without feelings. The only fault was this: if they had no feelings than why did they applaud so loudly, why did they smile, why did Preston's partener fight with such passion. I think that the actors should have been more robotic. All in all, a great movie.
Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! (2004)
I don't get it...
What is this, really? A cartoon about a boy and 5 robot monkeys fighting to save a city of idiots (aaaa, help us, run, we don't have an army although we have high-tech buildings and stuff) from a huge skeleton.
I heard of ludicrous ideas and this takes the cake.
The episode plots, such as Circus of Ooze or World of Gigants are more then ridiculous and all, in all, so is the show.
I don't even think that the show wants to be funny or an action show, just ridiculous. There is a plot, but it is devoured by the....action..
Anyway, it does not make me laugh, it can not be described as an action cartoon such as Batman, so what is it?
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999)
Brilliant
This movie was great, a real tribute to the show - which is one of the best cartoons ever.
It was hilarious, the dialogues were....brilliant... and the songs were .... not bad.
Even after seeing this movie for the 5th time, I still laughed when I saw it. The plot was a bit ridiculous, but I liked the way things tied together.
Stan's constant puking at the sight of Wendy, the V chip in Courtman, Kyle's mother's acting .... all made this movie into a smashing success.
This is a collection movie, one you must have and enjoy after 50 years, to remember how it was in a simpler time :). All in all, I think this movie is a MUST SEE and you are no fan of the show if you haven't seen it.
