I Am Groot (2022)
Waste of talent from the 3D team due to the series creators.
"I'm Groot" is a 3D animated series that, at first glance, appears to be geared towards a children's audience. However, as one delves into its content, it becomes evident that it offers the opposite of what parents want to convey to their children. The main character, Groot, is undeniably endearing, but his behavior resembles that of a young child who lacks any guidance on what is right and wrong.
One of the most problematic aspects of the series is the lack of intervention by "adult" characters in Groot's actions. On the rare occasions when adult characters are present, they simply passively observe Groot's antics without taking appropriate measures to correct his behavior. This sends a concerning message to young viewers, suggesting that irresponsible and disobedient actions can go unnoticed or without consequences.
It appears that the creators of the series have not taken seriously the importance of their influence on a young audience and on parents who wish to instill positive values in their children. Parents often find themselves tired of repeating that the protagonist's actions are not right and that his behavior should not be emulated.
It is crucial that the content offered to children contributes something positive to their development. Unfortunately, "I'm Groot" seems to lack this essential element. Despite some positive technical aspects such as the quality of 3D animation, lighting, and modeling, the series falls short in providing meaningful stories and a positive impact on the audience.
It is disheartening to see such a talented team of 3D designers squandering their potential on episodes with mediocre plots that do not constructively contribute to shaping values in children. In summary, "I'm Groot" may have visual appeal, but it lacks suitable storytelling and messaging for a young audience, resulting in an unsatisfying viewing experience for those seeking meaningful and enriching content for their children.
Si lo hubiera sabido (2022)
Waste of time
Like many other reviews on here, it's a total waste of time watching this series. The idea, from the first episode, was promising but it has deteriorated so much that it has become boring and desperate. It is loaded with scenes that do not contribute anything and situations that try to be funny without being funny at all (with the good humor that Spanish series have!). It seems that the entire series is the whim of the producer or director to do something that was only in her mind without good taste or intelligence. I have given two stars for the acting of some cast members. Even the ending is pathetic and simple. I can think of dozens of ideas to find appropriate, original and interesting endings. Please don't ever give money to the person who did this to produce more series.
The Imitation Game (2014)
Boring and unaccurate
"The Imitation Game" is a disappointing film that fails to accurately portray the life of Alan Turing. While the movie is based on Turing's life, the majority of the events depicted are incorrect, exaggerated, and ultimately boring. The film portrays Turing as socially awkward and inept, which is not an accurate representation of the man who was a brilliant mathematician and cryptographer, capable of being warm, charming, and alluring (with men).
One major omission in the film is the fact that a group of Polish mathematicians played a critical role in breaking the Enigma code during World War II, which was the foundation for Turing's work. This oversight takes away from the contributions of these individuals and paints an incomplete picture of the historical events surrounding the codebreaking efforts.
Furthermore, the inaccuracies and exaggerations in the film make it difficult to stay engaged with the story. The character of Turing is portrayed in a one-dimensional manner, lacking any real depth or nuance. This is particularly disappointing given that Turing was a complex figure who faced many challenges in his personal and professional life.
Overall, "The Imitation Game" fails to do justice to the story of Alan Turing and the contributions of the individuals involved in breaking the Enigma code. The inaccuracies and omissions make the film an uninteresting and ultimately forgettable viewing experience.
Dark (2017)
complexity alone does not make a masterpiece
I recently watched this highly-rated series, and while it had a complex and well-crafted storyline with well-defined characters and excellent casting, I feel that it is somewhat overrated. The show's execution is slow and meandering, with many irrelevant threads left unfinished, seemingly only present to drag out the plot. At times, the characters and dialogue can be frustratingly slow, and the ending feels forced, as if it's trying too hard to make sense of the convoluted plot.
One of the main elements of the show is time travel, but the rules governing it seem inconsistent. While some cause-and-effect relationships make sense, others don't follow any apparent logic, which can be confusing and frustrating for the viewer.
Overall, I appreciate the show's ambition and complexity, but complexity alone does not make a masterpiece. The show has its strengths, but I found its pacing and inconsistency to be major drawbacks. In my opinion, it is not quite the masterpiece that some have claimed it to be.
Madres paralelas (2021)
boring and politicized movie
I didn't understand why it has such a high score It is a very slow film, predictable and with mixtures that do not make sense. The dialogues are very artificial, stretching time in an overwhelming way. It is very tiresome that Spanish cinema is always treating the subject of the Spanish Civil War from the same point of view. There were much more aberrant war crimes from the Republican side and there are not many movies that talk about it Family members who were on both sides have told me horrible things. Putting this theme in the film is something forced and that for my part has subtracted all the few points it deserved.
Red Dot (2021)
Bad mix from other movies
It's a bad copy of Spanish thrillers " the body" (El cuerpo, 2012) y "the invisible guest" (contratiempo 2016). Takes good ideas from them and put together in a different environment.
