Smoking Guns (2016)

Funny!

I was pleasantly surprised. Not what I was expecting at all. I was expecting a cheap British gangster B movie, but instead was met with devilishly dark, cunning and colourful movie with well rounded characters. Every single character seems to count and add a little more.

My one negative would be the cinematography. I feel this aspect probably holds the film back from joining the very elite films of the last ten years. Not the quality I expect from a Sony Pictures film but asides from that very good.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)

One of my favourite films of all times.

After The Terminator I though wow imagine that thing coming after you and how would I kill it (i was still pretty young)... After watching Terminator 2 at the cinema I though I just found my new best movie. Brilliant story and great sequel. The visual effects were amazing, the soundtrack was great and as far as science fiction goes is my favourite film that in my opinion has stood the test of time. Aged very well. Enough talk for now.. If you haven't seen it yet, whip yourself for missing out all these years and go and watch it!

Hot Fuzz (2007)

Pretty good.

Much better than I expected. I bought the DVD years before I actually watched it and after doing so I wondered why I hadn't seen sooner. Light hearted and entertaining. don't expect a masterpiece but definitely worth watching on a Sunday evening. Good follow on from Shaun of the Dead (another pretty funny film but that's for another thread)

Highlander (1986)

I've marked as spoiler alert but if you haven't seen this to date (been out since 86 by the way) then i don't mind ruining it for you hahaha.. Great concept, loved the charters especially Sean Connery playing the most Scottish Spaniard ever. As they say.. "There can be only one" so make sure you keep your head. I ended up watching all of them including the series. so for my 2 pence its definite worth a watch. Look past the datedness and you will find a great bit of science fiction / fantasy filmmaking with plenty of action. Like the music too

Inception (2010)

Overly complicated but interesting

Loved the idea, great cast, direction and script.. i just felt it became over complicated for no reason. the idea is out there enough, let along going trough multiple layers of consciousness. I've rated maybe a bit low for these reasons buuut... as a cinema movie it was great. big noise, visual effects, Hans Zimmer Horns with plenty of action and adventure..

Chopper (2000)

What an entertaining movie. Definitely worth a watch. It might be my twisted sense of humour but, even the tragic parts I found hilarious. Aside from that its a gritty fun (i guess true story) film with top performances all round. I don't want to give anything away so I suggest a few beers and this movie... don't forget the pizza too.
