When Calls the Heart: Believe (2024)
Best episode since season 1!!!
So this show is definitely back to its old feel!!!
Mama Bear and Papa Bear 😂🤣😂
Elizabeth has to face one of her ghosts from the past, a superior who not only harassed her, but almost cost her her job back in Season 4!
Now he's back, causing her to not only relive those moments, but also worry about her students and her school once again!!
With Nathan's and Lucas' help, she faces her fears, rolles up her sleeves and kicks the guy to the curb! Almost literally "You don't wanna miss your train!" In good old Hope Valley fashion! With Nathan proudly watching.
Not to mention all those beautiful and romantic scenes we get in the process.
But: will they ever get their date???
(Not that they need one!!!)
When Calls the Heart: When Stars Align (2024)
Back to "stories well told"
I'm so glad this show is back to its original warm fuzzy heartfelt. I didn't watch season 9 because nothing made sense anymore. S10 brought in a new writer (and a female!!!) who turned this ship around! Stories are warm and finished again. Most characters are back to their good old self, friends are friendly again. I love it again! So glad! I hope she stays on for a long time!!!
The protagonist is on a happy path to a great love, the antagonist (well, one of them) got a beautiful redemption story, other people are finding joy and happiness again, no more screaming at each other for no reason.
When Calls the Heart: What Is and What Should Never Be (2023)
Yay Henry!!!
I forgot how much I loved Henry!!! When Rosaleen first came back and was so bitter with him, I was a bit lost, didn't quite buy it, nobody holds a grudge THAT long! But my was this episode, well, mostly this storyline, beautifully written!!! I teared up at the end!!
This whole season is back to its heartwarming, wholesome stories. No more confused and confusing drama, the stories all finish, nothing seems lost or chaotic. There is a lot of closure for a lot of people!
The producer always says, "this show is about the whole town", which isn't true imo, it is about Elizabeth's story, but sure enough, this season is about the whole town and it's wonderful!
When Calls the Heart: Starry Nights (2023)
Welcome home!
I'm so happy the show is back to how it used to be!! Heartwarming, community-focused, it's all about faith, forgiving and kindness.
The teacher is teaching again, the Mountie is a Mountie again, the saloon owner starts a promising political career, Rosemary gets to be a Mom (finally!!), the preacher is doing his preacher thing... like everyone is back to where they're supposed to be.
Season 8 was so awful, I didn't even watch Season 9, now I'm slowly catching up on S10 and hallelujah for this new show runner! She took everyone in Hope Valley back home! <3.
I'm very much looking forward to Season 11!
Man of Steel (2013)
I feel like I'm Cheating on MCU
I'm an outspoken MCU fan, never cared for DC, Batman movies are ok, the others I've watched kinda out of peripherals vision...
I watched Man of Steel because I loved Henry Cavill's performance on Enola Holmes and he blew me away! He's incredibly talented, outstanding performance, raw emotions when needed, charm and wit other times. Not to mention the obvious...
The writing is surprisingly funny and Man of Steel feels lighter than the other DC movies.
I also really love Amy Adams as Lois, then throw in Kevin Costner and Diane Lane! Great cast!!!
The score is great as well! I really can't get enough of it!
Night Hunter (2018)
Great thriller
I only watched this because of Cavill and he didn't disappoint! The rest of the cast is fantastic as well!
For those who say this movie doesn't have depth, I'm not sure if they watched the same movie or maybe they just prefer everything clear as day and don't get subtle. The conversation between Marshall and his daughter was surprising and gave me enough to understand Marshall's struggle and the broken family . There was enough backstory on everyone (except cooper and the girl, which -to me- was the only confusing part!)
There were enough hints on Marshall&Rachael's history to make their relationship clear. This is a thriller, not a romance, so there was really no need to get deeper into this.
Anyways, I love it!
My Grown-Up Christmas List (2022)
What a beautiful, heartfelt movie!!!
This movie is wonderfully written, the cast knocks it out of the park, so much heart and wonderful moments. I just watched it again! As an Ex-Army wife, it really nails it (minus the "her going to the training camp 😂😂😂)!!! Straight through the heart!!!
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Not bad. But too much of a repeat imo
I'm not a big Tom Cruise fan, but I really like the original. When I heard there was gonna be a sequel, I was very annoyed and wasn't gonna watch it.
Then I read reviews, how many people thought it was even better than the first etc. So I watched it.
It's okay. Definitely NOT better than the first, it felt like pretty much the same story all over again. Had good elements (my favorite was probably his friendship with Ice) and let's face it, Tom Cruise is the perfect actor for this stuff. The other cast is great too. But I'm not loving it.
When Calls the Heart: Turn of the Page (2022)
Too familiar
This seems like a cheap copy of Dr Quinn MW episode when Dorothy was shunned for her article.
Also many (former) fans are taking it as a personal attack.
This is so ridiculous...
Feeling Butterflies (2022)
What a beautiful movie
Such a beautiful movie, the writing was sweet and heartfelt, the cast is adorable, especially Kevin and Kayla, they seemed very much at ease and natural together (especially since Kayle once said she has the giggles when she has to act opposite him), the butterflies/CGI was beautiful and so was the scenery. I hope they will make more movies together!
Cinderella (2015)
Absolutely magical!
I can't believe this doesn't have higher ratings!!! Kenneth Branagh is a genius wizard who continues to deliver. From the cast to the writing to the costumes and the music this movie is 100% magic!!! The cast is phenomenal, I mean, Cate Blanchett for crying out loud!!! And the chemistry between Lily James and Richard Madden is palpable!!! I can't watch this often enough!!! Kids like it too lol.
The Wedding Veil (2022)
Perfect Hallmark movie!!!
This story is beautiful, women supporting women, all the classic and lovely Hallmark tropes, perfect lead couple pairing, the chemistry is natural, lots of comic relief, with the right amount of drama, the couple actually dates before they get married! Hallmark nailed this one!!! 100% feel-good!!!
The first movie in this trilogy set the bar really high for the two others lol (no pressure!)
I would give 20 stars, if I could!!!
The Christmas Secret (2014)
Such a beautiful and heartwarming Godwink story
The cast is amazing, the twists and turns keep you holding your breath, the leads have wonderful chemistry, everyone is natural and believable!! This movie just made my top 5 Christmas movies!!!
When Calls the Heart: Honestly, Elizabeth (2021)
Continuing with the choppy stories
Seems like there is a lot missing this episode! The only two wonderful moments were between Joesph&Rosemary and then Nathan opening his heart all the way!
When Calls the Heart: Open Season (2021)
Way too fast paced and choppy
This episode was quite confusing.
I liked Allie's Dad's appearance. Everything else was just irritating. And don't get me started on how Elizabeth is acting, especially blowing off Nathan AND Allie there in the end!!!
Winter Castle (2019)
Beautiful location, beautiful people, happy ending
Right up my alley *heart emoji*
Kevin McGarry and Emilie Ullerup are both great actors and their chemistry ist fantastic! I hope they get paired up more often
That hotel is spectacular but I wouldn't last an hour. LOL.
When Calls the Heart: The Kiss (2021)
Shock value over heart warming. No thanks!
I fell in love with Season 1 Elizabeth. She is no longer. I have no problem with character development, but she did a 180!
This show was all about family values, wonderful life and love lessons. It has changed completely. The portrayal of the main character makes it ok to lead on 2 men for 3 years, be rude to them and others around her, with no redemption or apology? The obvious lead man gets punched and kicked to the ground with no happy ending. Lessons learned: DO run when things get tough. Don't fight for love. You don't have to be kind.
No thanks, I'm out!
Best of luck for this whole new show next year!
