Space Trucker Bruce (2014)
I can deal with the low budget, but I can't deal with the bad acting / writing
The sets are impressive, considering the budget. The special effects are not so bad either. In fact, both of the aforementioned have a sort of "Red Dwarf" low budget feel. Unfortunately for Space Trucker Bruce, that is where the comparisons stop. The acting in this movie is quite poor, and not even in a "so bad it's good" way. It's easy to forget that acting takes talent and does not come naturally. We take most movie and television acting for granted, however, all it takes is a movie like this to know when you see bad acting. Pair that with the bad writing and unfunny dialogue and you have a mismatch made in space.
I'd give the movie a higher rating if it was only based on how the sets & special effects were made on a shoestring budget, but when reflecting on the product as a whole, any higher would be unjustified.
This movie is more akin to a student film project for an A/V class and I cannot recommend it. I watched it late at night after stumbling upon it on the internet, but in retrospect, I would have been better off just going to sleep.
