AN EVENT
6 January 2022
It's like a graphic novel/history lesson reenactment with incredible production design, amazing acting, visually beautiful and super dense yet fully digestible story, very well stablished intentions and context through out the whole thing considering some characters where versions/representation of several people in just one, never doubting the audience or dumbing down things. It was also surprising how it was based on a true event yet many people were unaware of these events, i remember learning about it in school of course not every detail just enough to know how devastating it was. I mean i don't know how else to sell this show. Just Watch It.

BRING IT BACK
6 January 2022
In the age of revivals and reboots this is one of the few shows that truly deserves another chance in HBO Max!!! Someone do something about it. Team Richie, that's it. Raúl Castillo oh my god, this man, my name is Patricio aka Pato (Patrick if you didn't get) and when this man said PATO with that smile on episode 5... i've rewatched that single episode at least 30 times, P E R F E C T I O N, award worthy, and that "continuation" in Season 2, just wow. Yes every character is good, in the way they seem very real, I don't know many gay man but the ones I do know, i see them here the same way i see myself in several characters and yet how each one is sooo different UGH i really did love them. The movie was a cute ending to the whole arc from season 1 and 2 but something could still be made, there is so much more this characters could experience. Also Doris is just the best character, Lauren Weedman is the Carrie Coon and Ann Dowd of this show.

wow

Let's start with real stuff.. the first 5 episode are boring af, i didn't love any character i would force myself to watch, fiest time i watched the intro for ep 5? I was disgusted, mad, weird out just unnecessary shock to me... till one day by accident i watched episode 8 last scene and was shocked and curious. So i rewatched season 1 before the premiere for 2 and by the season 1 finale i was IN LOVE. I cried, i felt for all the characters. Season 2 ??? MASTERPIECE. It was robbed from several Emmys for all the categories, just tragic. Season 3 was a nostalgic kind of a bumpy road but still enjoyable i accepted the fact that this is a show that focuses on the pain, the grief, the feelings, regrets and mistakes of the characters, that's what really drove the show + mixed with good acting, just incredible a character study you could say. The Departure was just and extra at this point yes, a more sci-fi approach to the resolution would've been cool, nice and current but bring it back to an interaction between character's who's life we've seen go through so much come to that is just comforting. Hopeful.

You know what that is? GROWTH

This show man. Incredible, funny, current, relatable. I was 21 when this show started, I just turned 27, it helped me go through most of this part of my life and i will never forget it, Top 5 for me. I'm also finding myself in my late 20s and it's incredible to watch such rich and well written characters that you can relate to. I was a season 1 Lawrence for a long time, Molly felt like a personal attack at some points and yes I'm the Kelly of my group, and Issa and I love messy and complicated situation's every single time. Besides everyone being relatable, and beautiful the production, shots and music are great every single time. Those transitions through out the whole show? Chef's kiss. When i tell you I cried at work watching the series finale on my break. Watch, enjoy, laugh, cry, get invested, and repeat. Oh and no, Condola doesn't deserve that much hate lmao. YES A 9, it should've been at least 40 mins an episode and that finale is living proof... i'm petty like that.

Great for background noise

Warning: Spoilers
Benji needs to be gone, he's so incredibly annoying and his 'addiction' storyline in season 2 doesn't truly click, and neither does he. Felix and Victor's family dynamic are the best things of the show. Honestly i forgot what happened last season except for that cliffhanger and Felix's mom stuff. It's so forgettable I really wanted to like it because i do relate to Victor's situation after he comes out but everything else makes it unbearable.

first time i walked out of a movie
13 December 2021
The movie is technically beautiful and crafted to perfection but sadly lacks any heart... it feels like they stuck the signing and dancing in between the dialogue ones, they were two different tones completely. Also you can really tell this was 50%+ white people behind the camera, from the very start. My fav bits where Valentina & Tony, every time María was on screen, Bernardo & Anita's dynamic and energy and nothing else. I live in México and would like to inform you the lyrics on the subtitles for America were a totally different song, i don't know if this was the same for other songs besides María & Tonight because those where the only ones i really paid attention to. That school dance/love at first sight sequence though, TRULY ICONIC, La La Land was ended right then and there. The gang aspect of it was suuuuper boring and cringy, i couldn't stand any of it. I wanted to go back to María every-single-time. Will stream the rest of it when it becomes available and watch my favorite scenes but would never watch from start to finish E V E R. And that's how Sue c's it.

THEY are MAD
22 February 2020
Great show, honestly the first two episodes are the weakest and yet they're really good. After episode 3 the show really takes form, FANTASTIC storytelling, the subject matters are important and relevant; very well told and acted. It has so much spirit and I can't stop talking about it to everyone i know. You'll notice some people are giving bad reviews (not surprised at all) because the shows way of telling this stories while also making several points; many people are going through that and much worse and just because those scenarios don't paint SOME well "it's biased", these are the same people that love to remind you everyday 'not everyone of us' but when some else does anything 'it's all of them'. Watch it, love it y gózalo!
