Waco (2018)
Great acting, but very misleading!
I'm not sure what the motivation for portraying Koresh as a humble, understanding, all around good guy was. It's pretty disturbing that they would put this out there and give people the impression that it's factual. Koresh was a very mentally disturbed, narcissistic, evil person. That is a stone cold fact. He beat children as young as 8 months old, raped young girls and impregnated them, forced men to let him sleep with their wives. The scene where he catches the kid sneaking ice cream would've gone a lot differently in real life. He'd have beaten that kid mercilessly and forced him to sleep outside. He also provoked the fight with the ATF and FBI waaay more than is depicted in the show. He wanted a fight. In the end he lit children on fire because of his massive ego. Don't get me wrong, the FBI and ATF really screwed the pooch too, but to portray Koresh as an innocent victim just trying to live peacefully is a joke! The man was pure evil and just as, if not more, responsible for the deaths at the Waco compound as the US Government. After 3 episodes you can see it's anti government propaganda if you know the real story behind Koresh. Again, the government is not innocent by any stretch, but the story is ridiculously one sided. Great acting though.
The Walking Dead: Swear (2016)
Terrible!
*SPOILERS*.... Tara!?!? Really?! Come on TWD, Tara cannot carry a scene, let alone and EXTENDED episode. Like many TWD loyalist, I had very high expectations for this season. Man has it been a let down and that's putting it lightly. Loved the 1st episode, then we get a Carol and Morgan episode with a "king" that thinks its 13th century Europe for some reason. Carol is good with the other mains, but boring in a focus role, and Morgan has run his course. We get a little bit of Negan, then we have a whole episode of Sasha taking turns arguing with Jesus and telling Maggie to sit down. Then THIS atrocity. This whole Tara and whatever the other guy's name is character catch-up could've been done in a 15 minute spot in another episode. Some say this was a great "character development" episode, but I don't see how. What did we learn about her that we already didn't know? She's a nerdy, sarcastic, lesbian that is supposed to be a bad ass but the actor can't sustain it in combat scenes. She stomps around the Oceanside camp like a rhinoceros, but somehow remains undetected. Then these cold blooded assassins can't seem to stop her until a 10 year old sociopath manages to put a gun in her face. Then they all abandon their "kill 'em all" philosophy and invite good ol Tara to dinner. She, for some reason, tells them about how her group attacked the Savior's satellite camp (great way to break the ice Tara) then suggest the two groups should be buddies. Well they decide to tell her they'll take her to Alexandria, but really they're going to kill her in the woods. Once again the hardened killers cannot manage to shoot her from 10 yards away with rifles. She fights with one of them before the other woman gets the upper hand on her and that's when we get a TWD favorite.... The last second save!!! The writers of this show just love it. Put anyone in inescapable danger and BOOM out of nowhere comes a savior. This routine is very played and they need to find a better way to end a suspenseful situation. So she escapes and makes it back to Alexandria and finds out about all the chaos that has ensued in her absence. Mediocre character, bad story line, and an actor that can't grip the audience equals to the WORST TWD episode ever. And I say that with supreme confidence. Step it up TWD!!!!
