Brahmastra Part One: Shiva (2022)
Good Concept, Underwhelming Execution and Poor Acting
Extremely good concept. The first sequence is terrific.
Love story does not make the connect it should have.
And Acting from lead pair could have been better and intense. Ranbir is still in Badtameez dil mode. It just does not connect.
The most big let down are dialouges. A movie like this need dialouges that stays even after the movie is over. It just feel like no hardwork is done in that department.
Still, the overall plot of an ancient weapon system passing through the generations and conflict in modern world helps the movie and viewer to stay afloat. Action and VFX are superb and hits the bulls eye !
One time watch in all !

Letter of Love for Liberation from Life
A very poignant movie, involving unfulfilled love, that weaves around a very sacred tradition of fulfilling a promise made after passing away of one's parent. You can feel each emotion of the lead characters. You can feel a sense a decades long closure when Tanuja takes the ring back in her hand in the climax. It also makes us reflect to not judge the actions done in past. Not everyone gets to spend lifetime with true love. If you're getting that, feel blessed - and treasure it for lifetime.
Panchayat (2020)
Love what you do
It is an extremely well made show. I felt like I was living in a Panchayat while watching the show. The best part of the season-I was absence of any romantic angle. This kept the focus strictly on characters and mundane things in "Panchayat".
All the actors are bang on. Special mention for Raghuveer Yadav and Neena Gupta. And what a debut for Chandan Roy (Vikas). I am fan of Jitendra Kumar now.
While watching the show - it really makes you think if you really want what you think you want. In the process, you lose out on loving what you do.
It will be really a task for the crew to live up to the expectation if and when season-II happens.

Love Story for the new generation
If you've ever been in true love anywhere in world in anytime of your life, you will relate to the lead characters all throughout the series. And it tops it with excellent acting from support cast and a feeling of being very real. You know you've a winner at hand if you feel for each character, and this show does have that with plentiful of sweet moments.
Go Watch It if you ever want to know how it feels to be in love. You'll not be disappointed even a bit. And I particularly liked the grandfather's role. He was terrific and every kid with a grandfather like him would relate to it.
Just a word of caution - give it sometime for first three to four episodes as it sets the stage for an enthralling ride of emotions.

Original Indian (and not just Tamil) Classic
The movie was made in year I was born in another part of the country. I first heard about this movie living in Mumbai and visiting Matunga area about 15 years back. But I could not find the movie with subtitles then.
Incidentally - I was able to see the movie with subtitles thanks to video streaming channels. It is one of my all time favorite now.
Few things about review title -
Original - Not every mafia don / gangster movie is "Godfather" remake. The deads of his life are perfectly summed up the penultimate scene where the Asst. Comm. says that the aim is same - to serve the people and those who need help.
Indian (and not just Tamil) - Even though the movie was originally made in Tamil - it is set in Mumbai. And above all - it is simple movie devoid of anything that we have now come to associate with movies from Tamil / Telugu / Malayalam movies. I am sure you will fell love with the visuals. They scream innocense.
Classic - Because it is. You feel for each character.
And I can watch it with family.
I am sure in Today's time it would have been a "series" with lot of unwanted stuff, bloodshed scenes and unsuitable language.
Thank God that the movie was made 31 years back.
