Always Amore (2022)
A true friendship movie
So I gave the title a friendship movie, because I couldn't really get passed that they were more than that. Maybe it could have been a "1 year later", fast forward and they would get together but their relationship felt so rushed. Here she is throughout the movie hesitant of doing any changes, including removing her wedding ring.. and then BAMM restuarant and kissing Ben. Restaurant I could see her agreeing too... but kissing him in the end.. no..
I just didn't see any really sparks. Like normally you would look forward to the end kiss.. but I just wanted to fast forward.. it just wasn't belivable.
And was It just me, I mean my favourite Hallmark with him is "It was always you" and her name was Elizabeth too. Must admit did struggle with her name being the same. HAHA.
The Presence of Love (2022)
Too much
I wanted to love this so badly as there are so many great actors put into this movie..
But I just felt it was over the top. Julian Morris character was basically screaming "LOVEE ME" throughout the movie and it felt a bit almost too pushy. I just didn't sense much chemistry between the two characters..
I mean the acting great, chemistry.. not much. Eloise and Sean Faris... now those are more believable.
I know it's Hallmark and it's supposed to be a bit cheesy but I swear they tried writing Julians character as a classical "english gentleman" from the romantics (etc. Darcy). I don't know if this was intentional as that sort of was the theme.. but for me it just became too much.
Marry Me (2022)
American "remake" of Notting Hill
The movie had it's moments, like when she rented out Coney island and when they were just away from everything and could just be themselves..
But most of the movie just felt like a big music video or promo tour for Jennifer Lopez. I get that she's a singer as well in the movie. But it focused TOO much on it, like "hey look at me, look how great I look". Every 5 minutes it was her singing.. and it wasn't just a snippet it was like the whole song.
And the way she dressed, she has a great body don't get me wrong.. but the dress she wore to the school prom.. just didn't seem appropriate
at all!
All Charlie wanted was to see the natural side to her.. without heavy makeup.. and hair extensions. But not once did we ever get to see that side. Even the day after she has so much makeup on.
And when she was nominated for the award she was genuinly happy, and he was just "meh, I want to leave that behind". When he turns up at the after party because he's insecure he straight just dumps her when she's done nothing wrong. It felt so rushed.. and to go from this to marry eachother again, how on earth would they make it work when they are clearly so opposite from one and other. In Notting Hill, Julia makes it clear that awards and fame doesn't even mean anything.. and she takes a years break from it all to stay indefinitely with William in London. Can't really see this happening for Kat and Charlie..
After I saw this movie.. I went straight to watch Notting Hill. And I recommend you do too!
The 27-Hour Day (2021)
Quite a let down
I had this movie saved in my watchlist as I was looking forward to seeing two of my favourite Hallmark actors in the same movie. But oboy was I disapointed.
Normally I watch a Hallmark movie in one sitting, but this one took me a couple of hours to get through.
The speed was slow, which sometimes can be quite nice if the overall movie is OK. But this one was painfully slow.
It's the classic Hallmark movie. Sucessful girl needs a break, goes to the countryside, find a guy and fall in love and then wants to change her career. But I've seen so many of these it's getting a little boring.
If I can feel the chemistry between the actors, it can definitly make up for it.. but I just didn't feel anything. They characters just didn't seem to have anything in common, and to have a fight about life and values after 1 kiss? Yikes.
I love Andrew but I think I prefer when he plays opposite Bethany Joy Lenz. Both of their Hallmark movies have been AMAZING! I recommend watching them instead.
