Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023)
Action-packed
The only reason I'm giving this a 9/10 instead of a 10/10 is because there are a few scenes that "jump the shark" for me...
The bridge scene where Gabriel sword fights Grace and Isla. The choreography is great. However there are several times where either Gabriel could have taken either of the ladies out, or vice versa.
The narrow alley way where Ethan fights. He suddenly couldn't beat them efficiently.
The idea that the Entity is God-like was ridiculous, especially when Gabriel says "so it is written."
When Ethan lands in the train and when the parachute pulls him back the key is suddenly at the other end of the train car for Gabriel, who appears out of nowhere, to simply pick up.
Blade Runner (1982)
So slowwwwww
The only explanation as to why this movie is rated so high is due to the cult following because it's SO bad...

Spirited (2022)
Spirit-Ehh-d
Not really funny. I found myself saying out loud at one scene about 30 minutes in, "That's the first funny moment of the movie." (Which is surprising given the fact the two main characters are known for their humor.) I started counting how many funny parts there were from that point on because I was waiting for it to rise to the caliber these two actors are known for. I counted only three funny bits throughout the movie, and here they are:
1: When the Marley haunt leaves, one of the weights hits Reynolds in the face.
2: When Ferrell's character gets frustrated with Reynolds, he freezes time and slaps him in the face.
3: When Ferrell tells Marley "Good afternoon" in a high voice.
Bad Moms (2016)
Obviously written by two guys
The only good part of this movie was during the ending credits where each actress was interviewed with their real-life mother and describing their relationship growing up.
The actual movie comes across as guys writing a script imagining what bad moms be like, and trying to be funny (like using vulgar language - think The Hangover). At times you can almost envision them sitting around and thinking up completely unrealistic scenarios. When I got suspicious of this, I looked up who wrote this movie, and surprise, it is written by two guys. A least one wrote The Hangover. The idiocy then made sense.
The Adam Project (2022)
Should have been better
The young actor was clearly coached to study Reynolds for this movie, which was fine for the first 30 minutes, but then became annoying. Most of the script came across as lazy, adding jokes for the sake of having jokes, when a more appropriate line, or no line at all, would have been better (e.g., when the younger says "superhero landing" during the final fight scene). Additionally, what's with the writers portraying young kid with all the wisdom? There's no way he is THAT observant at that age, and can council his older self, especially a "nerd". I loathe when children are portrayed as being wiser than the adult in movies, and the adult says "how/when did you get so smart?" (this is an example of the lazy writing).
Ruffalo's character was annoying and I found myself wanting him to shut up.
Finally Keener's character was poorly written. Her lines were terrible, predictable, and added nothing.
Overall, they tried to do several "tip of the cap" to other movies, but how it's done comes across as lazy.
The Hunt (2020)
Satire
This movie is improperly categorized. It's entirely satire/comedy, and because of that, the violence is over the top. It pokes fun at both the "ruling class"/elites who think they know what's best for the masses, and the those who rebuke that idea and want to live in the land of the free.
The Batman (2022)
What's with all the hype?
Every now and then a movie comes along that completely sucks you into the story that it doesn't feel like a long movie - even though it's 3+ hours (e.g. Zack Snyder Cut). This is not one of those movies.
I knew going in that this was a film noir, detective storyline. With that being said, I would rather watch The Dark Knight trilogy three times in a row, or the Snyder Cut twice in a row, than watch this movie again, it was that bad. I really don't understand the hype and rave reviews. There were so many unnecessary spoken and unspoken scenes that didn't contribute to the storyline. At about the halfway point I was ready for it to come to a conclusion. There are about five times when I thought the movie was (should have been) over.
Save yourself time.
The Goldbergs: The Wedding (2022)
CGI version of Murray?
This could have been a great episode, but the absence of Murray is a massive void, making it a 1/10. All footage of Murray in this episode seems to be from earlier episodes and is awkwardly added in. You see the back of a stand-in that is clearly not Murray. Murray standing at the wedding looks like his face was CGI'd over another person's face.
The Blacklist: Godwin Page (No. 141) (2021)
Reddington
Reddington is THE ONLY saving grace for this show. Liz's character has jumped the shark so many times it's laughable.
