loved it! Food waste and unhealthy food.....
23 April 2021
I loved this show. Watched everything in a few months.

The first few seasons where the best, then it was all a bit less good. But not as much less good as most other shows, where shows just freefall in quality after the first season or 2-3.

Throughout the whole show I felt hungry. They are eating all the time. All that nice food. Most of it unhealthy take away. I think that sends the wrong message. You can not live on take-away food, do no excercise and stay as thin as these guys.

What particulary upset me is the continuous food waste! They hardly ever finish their plate of food. They just leave half and walk away.

In the last season Burt (the giant geology-guy) became more of a character in the show. Too late, in my opinion. Maybe if he'd been written in earlyer it might have changed the dynamic of the show and you know, some new blood to revive things. Burt rulez! Such a great character.

In most episodes there is a natural storyline. But some episodes you can just feel the writer struggling to come up with something new. I think its a shame that sometimes to facilitate that, the characters where forced to do some way out of character stuff. Like Sheldon welding on a train-engine. Obviouly Sheldon would never do anything of the sorts. That was such an anti-joke. And there are some more of those.

Some of the episodes where so bad I used as background while practising my rubic's cube skills. Just not worth my full attention.

That being said. I know lots of fans here hated the arrival of all the woman changing things from the first seasons. But I think they did a great job with the slow development of the characters and the passing of time. There are no less that 12 seasons! And you can see them getting somewhat older, so would be silly to try and keep them into youthfull nerd-world for all those years. (Althou there are probably plenty of nerds who have nothing happening in 12 years, no offence).

I think more attention could have been given to those relationships. What on earth does Amy see in Sheldon? Howard obviously gets his mother, but what could Bernie possibly get out of that relationship? And where it all started, Penny and whats-his-face. Maybe the writers could have deepend that out a little. Could actually have been quite funny.

Nice homes they all got! I'm moving house soon and was a bit stuck with which colours to paint the new house. I got plenty of inspiration from watching this show :)

Just the right mix of comedy, action, girls in bikini and Gabrielle Anwar

I loved this show. great show, from start to the very end of season 7!

Pretty much each episode is a case (with its own story), inside the story-line which goes from the first to the very last episode and never became boring. That is quit the accomplishment for 7 seasons!

I loved the split-screens. And I particulary loved the introduction of the characters. Where the frame freezes and the person's role is introduced. When watching show I sometimes have trouble keeping who-is-who apart, so I found that not only amuzing, but also very usefull. I wish more shows would do that!

As for the plot... I could not help wondering why Michael so desparately wants to work for the agency, as helping people with his friends seems to be the perfect life for him and Fiona. Particulary where he just joins others who have no clear objectives of what it is they try to accomplish. He wants to be the good guy, which does not match with working for people with questionable motives.

Switching timelines all the time is just anoying, does not add anything to the movie
18 August 2020
I am so looking forward to the day directors decide it is not cool anymore to mess up a perfectly good story by switching back and forth in a timeline. Pulp fiction was a long time ago. Time to find a new way to make your mark on someone elses story. This is just anoying and confusing. First I though this was an experimental movie, as the kids are like 30 years older in the other timeline, but the parents look exactly the same. I had to go to this website and read the plot before I understood what the director was trying to do. So that is bad.

Great acting, Great story.

I love it, but a lot of stuff does not make sense at all...
22 April 2020
Great serie. I binchwatched from 1 to season 10 during covid-19. Very much enjoyed it. A few notes as to why I give it a 8 instead of 9, in order of irritation.

FLASH FORWARDS AND FLASHBACKS Complete random switching from past to present and future, often also throughout different story-lines, just complicates the story. This does not make the story any better at all. In fact, much is simply lost because the viewer can not follow whats going on. The director even resorted to using black-and-white color and words 'now', 'then' to mark past events in one episode in season 6.

WHY NOT TELL A STORY FROM THE START TO THE END? Why cut up a good story and show the pieces in random order? It does not make the story any better. Add different story lines and mess them up too and you are watching a crazy collage-moodboard of what could be a great story. Such a shame. Particulary irritating in season 5 and 8.

LETS TALK ABOUT THIS During battles, when there is no second to loose, they start long monologues and discuss what it is to be human. Thats does not make sense at all. When it is fight or flight there is no time for philosophical debate.

MISSING SCENE!!! I was so looking forward to this game-changing scene, but it is totally not there. After they meet Negan for the first time, that horror night, they go back to Alexandria. Next they are just in Alexandria waiting to get disarmed, robbed and made into slaves. WAS THERE NO DISCUSSION? No scene of how they explained what happened and what they should do next. The obvious choice would be to leave and start over elsewhere. Darol was hostage, but he would either turn to saviours or find his own way out. Would not worry about Darol. They knew they could not win from the saviours. They knew Negan is a viscious sadist, who can not be trusted at all. Why on earth did they make the stupid decision to stay put?

MEANINGFULL GAZES Lots of them. Long, longer, looooooongest. Back and forth, and back again. And again forth. Yawn.

HUMOR Finally in season 7 (except for the first episode) some much needed humor gets introduced.

season 7 + 8 bad background music. season 9 + 10 great background music

STUFF THAT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE:
  • Electical oven on solarpanel-energy to bake cookies? No, that can't be. Ask anyone who lives off-grid. Same goes for refrigorators. You need way more solarpanels for that.
  • Years have past, yet season 7 they still rely mainly on scavenged canned food?! Even in summertime where they just walk over edible plants. And they keep saying they are adapting to the 'new normal', while totally ignoring the abundance of nature all around them.
  • in almost every episode a walker attacks a human laying on the ground and the walker on top, face to face. That gets old.
  • It took many years but finally in season 8 many have upgraded from their tiny knives to way more efficient machettes for killing walkers. Of course Rick (I call him Woody from toy story) keeps using his tiny foldup pocket-knive on walkers skulls. Must be so gross folding a bloody knive and putting it back in your pocket :\
  • they take that old stuff from the museum in Washington. A risky trip. There are Amish closer to Alexandria. Had they in all those years not yet come accros an Amish farm with superiour stuff? :\
  • Season 4+5 everyone gets a personal existential philosiphical crisis. They have been roaming and killing for years now, but only now everyone seems to snap in their own way. Its often like a French psychological drama.

Warning: Spoilers
I am amazed that so many of these reviews where written when just 1-3 episodes had aired. That does not represent the total show at all. Those first episodes where best.

Please reviewers, Only review AFTER you have actually seen the show.

I just finished all 3 seasons. In season 3 the joke is sort of done. The plot has lost momentum and stuff is not moving anymore.

The situation of this man doing his work together with that silly pimp-girl is not very convincing. Specially not after she steals and lies and what not. Everybody makes mistakes and messes up big time. Humor is the glue that kept this going for 3 seasons. But I can see why it stopped.

Some questions remain. This could have been used in season 3 to deepen the plot, or make it move forward somehow.
  • why did they devorce in the first place?
Sure that new guy had more money, but that is not what gave her a rash...
  • why do his children look absolutely nothing like him or his wife?
I was just waiting for some big secret to be exposed, but......nothing

not worth watching
6 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The pilot was not real good, but intruing enough to keep me watching. The first few episodes where ok, still funny when she is trying to fit into sobians live, then it just goes downhill and going nowhere fast.

I realy tried, but gave up at episode 14.

  • The bad acting just becomes too annoying. When brigit is thinking she pulls that cartoon like scooby-doo-face.
  • Most characters are like pizza-boxes or something. So one-sided characters. There is no chemistry. This show feels like a 90 soap.
  • The plot. Nice start, then it just gets sooo going nowhere. First predictable, then overcomplicated and unbelievable.
  • All women in this show seem to be lying, manipulative and unproductive, and all men seem gullible neanderthales, working for whichever woman has him on a leash. With 1 or 2 exceptions.
  • Annoying movie mistakes.
  • sloppy research. A heroin addict is going cold turkey, but sleeps like a baby, yeah sure. Both sob and brigit call loverboy. But he does not see on his phone that those are 2 different numbers? Brigit just looks into someones phone, like there is no such thing as a lockscreen. B is being realy lucky in guessing laptop passwords. None of the lovers notice the scar is missing on b's wrist? etc.

I got bored and annoyed with the show. Nuf said.

Horrible film.
29 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
"comedy, adventure, mystery" This is, if anything, a horror-movie. Of the supernatural type. A really bad one. comedy? No one laught here. Not even a giggle. adventure? Nope. Unless you count the last minutes where some people get in a van. But then you might as well call it a roadmovie. Mystery? Yes! The whole film. One can only wonder why. Why did I just waisted my time watching this? Why does it end so abruptly? Did they run out of budget, or did the actors run off the set after realising how bad this film was going to be?

It starts off not too bad. One hopes it will get better soon, but it just gets worse, a lot worse.

The college-sex-stuff gets boring quickly. The plot builds like lego bricks falling from the sky. Only towards the end there is some rediculous explanation, which does not even explain half and then......the end.

Absolutely brilliant trailer! I mean, you must be a great artist to create such a half decent trailer from fragments from this film. Well done, trailer-people!

Plot does not make any sense
2 March 2019
Ok. So there are two people that really match well. They love eachother and laugh together and such. But, they are devorcing. BUT WHY?!!!

This movie is about letting go of eachother after a divorce. That is nicely done and I found the movie enjoyable to watch. Their chemistry is funny althou I don't find this funny enough to call it a comedy. Its more a drama.

What could have been a really good film about the process of divorce (been there, done that) is missing the big WHY. Which is sort of essential in any divorce and its aftermath. Why on earth did these people decide to divorce?

In real life, when people are divorcing, there is usually a reason. That reason is what gives direction to the process of separation. As this film is simply not dealing with any reason for the divorce, the process of separation does not make any sense at all.

so predictable and yet an open ending
10 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
the trailer says it all. The film just fills in the gaps. All very predictable, who is going for who. But then, after an hour and a half, it still leaves you with an open ending! How totally unsatisfying! Besides that 'drinking buddies' is more like 'youth-alcoholism'. Really sad.

The Expanse (2015–2022)
takes a while to get into
21 June 2017
The first few episodes I struggled with the plot and it was not very catchy. But later on, particularly season 2 it really picked up.

I found the plot hard to follow because: - bad pronounciation of the actors. Sometimes mumbling. - all the totally unnessesary accents and slangs. After so many generations in space it is very unlikely there will still be so many English-based accents like Scottish, Irish, Indian etc. Thats just laughablely unrealistic. But makes it hard to follow.

Out-of-body IS in the Bible, so why is this a dilemma for the reverent?
12 June 2017
Out-of-body experiences are in the Bible. Such a shame the reverent did not notice all the passages like "When Jezus was in the spirit...". There are many reverences like this. Also in other holy books. This made watching this movies a toe curling experience.

The other thing that was just distracting is that these people hardly had any money at all and just kept on living the live like there was no tomorrow. In their huge house, big car and all. Small income family in the US today. YEah right. That is not reality. Maybe they already where in heaven ;)

PG 12 ?!!!! There are closeups of penises in this movie.
29 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
How the *** can this be for 12 years and older?! There are closeups of penises in this movie.

This should be in the adult section!

That stupid penis-scene does not even add anything to the movie. The rest sure is PG12. I don't see why that pervert scene is in this otherwise enjoyable movie. We liked it, particular the slapstick, the unexpected crazy narratives and the over the top Bond-style. Altogether well worth seeing.

I vote a 1 just because you can not allow children to look at mens erect private parts.
