Charmed: All Hell Breaks Loose (2001)
Being 56, I saw part 2 when it aired live on tv only once and that was it.
Part 2 of All Hell Breaks Loose is absolutely real. I saw it live when it originally aired. You will not find part 2 in any dvd or vhs or whatever, because it was never released for these formats due to the conflicts and legal parameters. It only aired live, on tv, once and that was it. Fans just created fake part 2's online to try and recreate the actual episode for comfort.
It's too bad that the rights to part 2 were not released because when I watched it live, it was intense, emotional and well done. It is not unusual to not have a real recording of part 2 because it wasn't totally common to do this. We just watched tv live and that was that and plus we didn't have dvr, on demand, nor streaming. I was 33 back then (2001) and even though one could technically record tv shows onto a vhs tape, I wouldn't say it was common. Anyways, I don't care if some people believe that part 2 doesn't exist because I know it actually does because I saw it live that one time it aired and I know others who have as well. That's the truth. Period. When something is true, it just stands. It's like saying you don't believe in the sun or the moon. It doesn't matter if you don't believe in the sun or moon, the fact is, it's true that they do exist no matter what some people may think.
Anyhow, it's really not that important in the grand scheme of things. I just figured I would write this because I actually saw it myself. I'm glad I have it in my memory banks. Maybe someday, the people holding this part 2 back from the public, will release it so everyone else can enjoy it as well.
The Princess (2022)
Empowering for young women
This may not be one of those movies with an intricate storyline, but the overall theme is very empowering to young women. Also, I found that the stunt work and fight scenes were well done. Sometimes people who give bad reviews on a film, it's because it doesn't resonate with them. Not every film made is for the same demographic.
This was an action packed, young woman inspiring film that helps break the still ever present glass ceiling. The acting was good too. Actually, this film could have been a pretty cool Hulu series too; Then they could have deepened the storyline. Overall, I did enjoy the princess kicking some a** and there ain't nothing wrong with that.
The Old Guard (2020)
Potential for a great series
This is not brainless as some describe. You have to really listen to what they are talking about. Yes there are some great fight scenes. However, the characters also battled with what their purpose is and had no idea of the impact they've had on the world. Also, it's basically a pilot. This is based on The Old Guard comic books, so there is a lot more of the story to tell. As a stand alone movie, it does leave you wanting more, so hopefully they will consider continuing as an original series for Netflix. I'm interested in what it can become.
The Greatest Showman (2017)
Spectacular! LOVED IT!
I love everything about this film; the music, acting, singing, dancing etc etc. Just in the first 10 minutes, I was so moved. I would love for the same entire team to do another one like this one with another moment in history.
Oz the Great and Powerful (2013)
Charming Prequel
I think this film is a very charming prequel to the original Wizard of Oz with Judy Garland. Not every film in creation needs blood, sex, swears and gore. This film is well made, beautiful cinematography, great special effects and great story. Suitable for children as well. Give it a chance. I did and loved it.
Ghostbusters (2016)
Loved it-hilarious!
These four ladies are hilarious! You have to pay close attention to their dialogue in order to reap the benefits of their comedic skill. If you watch the film while on your phone or doing anything else that pulls your attention from the film, even for a moment, you will completely miss the clever banter. I think that is why some people may have given this film a bad review. There is no reason one would not enjoy this film, as long as you aren't picking apart the story and expecting it to be a masterpiece like Shakespeare. You don't go to a Ghostbusters film for great literary fulfillment. This film was designed to make you laugh and give you a moment of escape and lightheartedness. I believe one could find holes in almost every plot in films and television these days, so give yourself a break, relax and use this film to enjoy some quick wit and fun action. I loved the various nods to the original film as well. Some of the outtakes and extended scenes I have seen that were cut should have been incorporated in the film because these four ladies have incredible comedic chemistry. Maybe if it were edited a little differently, it may have drawn more good reviews. Oh and Chris Hemsworth was a hoot! Who would have thought "Thor" could have played such a humorous role!
Van Helsing (2016)
By episode 7 it has great potential
Give it a chance....Yes if you watch only a couple of episodes you might say, "eh, can take it or leave it". However I like to put in at least a few episodes to see if a new show develops. Many now popular shows started out slow. Even the huge hit, Seinfeld was iffy the whole first season. In fact they didn't have their breakout season until season 4. It's a shame that shows are chopped so quickly these days. Sometimes it takes a few episodes to even start developing characters. I recommend just watching at least to episode 8. By then, you will see the characters are finally developing and there are also a few surprises. Now at episode 10, it's practically a different show. Hopefully you will give it a chance too and then by episode 10 you will know for sure if you like it. For me, it's a show I look forward to and I am hoping this will develop into something even better!
