The Dukes of Hazzard (2005)
...Better Than Van Helsing...
Okay, I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon and say how awful this movie is. First, look at the cast. We knew from jump that this wasn't going to be "Hotel Rwanda". That said, I walked into the theater instantly regretting not getting tix to Sky High instead. During the movie, however, I laughed...that's right, actual laughs. Johnny Knoxville and Seann Williams Scott are hot, and they are funny. Jessica Simpson annoys me, but she wasn't in the movie enough to really do anything. She did what she was hired to do, show off her breasts and her butt, and she did that well. I went in with absolutely no expectations, and it was kind of funny. This in no way means rush to the theaters...or even slowly stroll. This means, that if you're on a date, and it's between "Dukes", weird indie movie and "Stealth", go see "Dukes of Hazzard".Otherwise, wait till Netflix.
Lifestories: Families in Crisis (1992)
Stories That Stay With You
I have seen all of the episodes of this series, but the one that sticks out the most is with Sam Rockwell. He plays a drunk driver who kills a young woman in a car accident. His punishment is to write a check FOR $1 every month and send it to the parents. It is a very strong story with an invaluable lesson about how precious life is, and how so many lives are ruined with one irresponsible mistake. This whole series was very moving because after the short story, the main character of the story, or that person's family spoke about how the story effected their lives. More raw and real than the after-school special,I saw it when I was 12, and I still remember it at 24. A very good series, indeed.
