Up there with 'Brief Encounter'
4 March 2023
Think you maybe need to be of a certain age to really enjoy the film. The days when everything was written long hand on paper. Great locations - I'm a location 'junkie'. Spot on costumes & 50s settings. Mr. William's house reminded me of my Grandparents home. I remember the 'bomb sites' - though I luckily didn't live through the times that created those 'sites' - but spent happy times on such playgrounds. Excellent cast - Bill Nighy was perfect. Yes - a film that I will enjoy re-watching & a film I will recommend to friends. Hope it is enjoyed by many - as it does send a beautiful message. Enjoy.

Roger is 'wasted' in this drama......

I watch it 'cos it's colourful & the locations are great. But, Roger looks awkward & slightly embarrassed to be doing it.

Get back to 'Oxford' & soon!

Why wasn't I there.....

Amazing 3 part series. Covers a great time in music history. If you like mid 60s American music - you'll enjoy this. The opening chords of Mr Tambourine Man sung by the Byrds - still sends shivers down my spine.

Watch the Darling Buds many times. Luvd' it. But this is new & different and it's enjoyable viewing. Good cast. Makes a pleasant change on a Sunday evening.

Well I enjoyed it

It might not be accurate. But it did what a film is meant to do - it told the story. Yes the actual event was terrible & an obscene waste of life. But, the film ensures those who died are never forgotton

Absolutely Luvin' it! Best adaptation EVER

Warning: Spoilers
It's brilliant. Great cast. Fantastic locations. Thoroughly enjoyable. I 'think' the string used to tie the bumper up on the car was nylon - pretty sure it would have been 'proper' string

I throughly enjoyed the first episode. Sound if predictable plot. Great locations & fab back ground music - shades of Morse!

Warning: Spoilers
I'm really not sure about this series - but, I'll give it a fair go. But, since when did a cow give birth and both Mum new born calf stand up & literally run off immediately after. That's a first in my book

Huge fan of everything Mac does. Especially the Detectorists. This has a similar feel to it. Beautifully filmed. Lovely music. Great cast. Susan & John were very good.

Did I spot 'Gemma'? I sure I did! It's something 'bikey' to watch in the Winter months

Watched & enjoyed. Good cast. Good locations. Good story. Yes, it's maybe a bit far fetched - but, that's drama. At times it is somewhat 'comedic'. Looking forward to S2
