HOUSED: The Feature (2017)
I loved this.
Too relatable. I imagined myself and a group of close friends in this very scenario and it's almost identical to this movie. It's very funny, silly, and yet realistic enough.
Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe (2016)
Propaganda For No Reason!
So I watched this who film, thinking that maybe I could hear a informative debate. Learn more about the controversy since the reviews were half and half. I finished it all (don't know how) and was extremely disappointed. It's a group of people that believe this theory and repeat their facts without EVER mentioning the thousands of studies done to disprove it, or getting one person to disagree! They don't mention any correlations, any family history, anything. Just MMR vaccine = Autism. Worst part was they played fake phone calls from a "retired CDC" guy who tells all about the CDC plot to give kids autism. If you look in the CAST list, Mike Gassaway does the voice, not this DR. Thompson they show in the movie. THERE IS NO WILLIAM THOMPSON. That's so crazy! All his stats were cherry picked. It's amazing how this type of fear-mongering propaganda wins awards. Just do your research and education people...
The Red Pill (2016)
Not Good
I love documentaries, but this was propaganda. All Jaye did was interview people with certain views, and supported their incorrect statistics without changeling them. I remember one fact about how more men died in the Koren War. Duh. People didn't allow women to fight, they were nurses in combat. I wonder who made that choice. Oh right, a man. Yet that isn't brought into conversation. If she is a feminist, one of the questions should ask Elam is "If this was October would you pull my hair and smash my head into a wall?" I'm female and cannot completely grasp the ideal of male struggles, but I do know that the media and traditional morals put men in a box and that's an issue that all of these ideals stem from. I also think Jaye is letting these men tell their stories (which is nice) to back-up their beliefs, but she doesn't mention that just because the men involved in bad situations does not mean it is that way for everyone. I gave it a four because I did learn more topics some males feel oppressed by, but I didn't get any truth or back and forth commentary like a documentary is suppose to have.
Capture Kill Release (2016)
Must See
I'm a huge horror fan and this movie by far has been one of the best horror films I've seen in years! It captures the psychological aspect of horror and psychopaths while adding the element of gore in the first person perspective. There were parts where I had to look away, but couldn't.
13 Reasons Why (2017)
Really. A 9.1 Rating...
The acting the music, setting and ambiance is amazing. They did a great job on everything but the story needed work. I know that teen suicide is a terrible thing and it's important to see the signs. But this shows does it no justice. It starts off with the voice of a dead girl blaming people for her death. It's idiotic. Then the main character goes crazy episode 7 and beyond. Every 15 mins, you would watch a cut science and then it would be one of his illusions. It gets repetitive and annoying. But what's great about it is the transitions from the past to present. Which happens a lot.
