2 different actors?
6 November 2014
Am I crazy,or are there two different actors playing the part of the husband?I'm sure it was Bruce Greenwood in the wedding day video at the beginning of the film, but later it was Michael McManus!.I've just watched it on television and didn't record it,so maybe I missed something.Put me out of my misery---please! I thought the plot was original and we were treated to some beautiful scenery. If I'm right about the two different actors, then that is why I am giving it a five.If I'm wrong, then I'll give it an eight. I quite like these Harlequin mysteries.I just saw another one yesterday, although I guessed the murderer quite early on.

I loved this series!
21 September 2005
This was shown on British TV as a 12 part series, each episode representing a month in the year of Emma & her grandfather, and all the seasonal changes which take place over the course of the year in their surroundings.I really loved this series, even tho' I was well into my 40's before I first saw it as a repeat in 1990.(I was watching it with my then 2 yr. old daughter.)The narrator over here was English &,as far as I can remember, the narration wasn't in rhyming couplets, which I would've found irritating. The most surprising thing to me was to find out that Alan Manson("Grandpa") was American, not English. The whole series was done so naturally that I actually thought that Alan Manson was Emma's real grandfather! I watched it again when it was repeated around 1993,but alas,so far as I know,it hasn't been shown since.Such a charming series.

Gale Sondergaard was terrific!
28 July 2005
Altho' I mentioned in an earlier comment("Love of Life") that the only soap I had ever watched was "Love of Life",I had forgotten about this one & I always watched it for the short time it was on TV.Gale Sondergaard was terrific as Amanda Key--she was evil personified! I even got the original book,on which the programme was based, out of the library. It was very good, but nothing like the TV series. The film, which I also saw,was more faithful to the book.I was very disappointed when it was cancelled,as they didn't tie up the loose ends,so viewers were left hanging w/ unresolved story lines.I probably would've found it more satisfying if they had done a final episode, detailing what would happen.

Love of Life (1951–1980)
I LOVED this soap!
27 July 2005
Sorry to disagree w/ the previous reviewer, but I loved this soap! I began watching it in the 1950's,when I was a small child & it was on for 15 min.,either preceded by,or followed by,"The Secret Storm"(I can't remember which),also only 15 min. at that time.I could only watch it during school vacations. Then,in 1969,when I was pregnant w/ my 1st child & had left my job,I began watching it full-time.This is the ONLY soap I ever watched.I dipped into others, but they never caught my attention.I moved to England in 1973,where I still live,so never found out how the plot lines continued.Maybe,it went down hill after I moved, but for the 4 yrs. I watched it full-time,I thought it was great.I especially loved Gene & Toni Bull Bua and I bought Gene's LP entitled "Love of Life",which is excellent--I still play it!By the way,how did the previous reviewer know about "Crossroads"?
