Three Thousand Years of Longing (2022)
Unnecessary nudity making what could have been a great movie just ok.
Over all the story was sweet and could have been better told without some of the off putting scenes involving some discusting and unnecessary nudity. The scenes added nothing to the story and the R rating it was given for those scenes only makes me question the motives behind the decision. Elba and Swinton both are such great actors and could have carried the movie with their acting alone. Outside of that, the typical problems that arise when someone is granted 3 wishes are warnings to the very cautious Alithea who at first is apposed to making any wish. After hearing of the Djinn's past, she is sure of her decision and makes her 1st wish. The way in which the wishes play out is a nice change to the normal way genie granting wishes story goes.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
Can I split the movie into 2? Loss of a King 7! Rest a 3.
The movie was good but what I liked best was the emotional aspect that surrounded the loss of Black Panther (Boseman) outside of that, the plot surrounding Wakanda's enemy was kind of ridiculous. Even with the understanding that you must put your critical thinking aside for a few hours to enjoy the film. It is hard to believe that if the sad passing of Boseman had not happened, the movie would have been good with the Talokan as the main plot. His acting was great but as Marvel enemies go, this was one of the poorest executed. My rating of 7 is for the emotional aspect at the loss of the king of Wakanda, the rest of the movie would have gotten a 3 at best.
Honeymoon (2014)
Slooooooow
Save your time and bypass entirely or at least the middle hour of the film because it does zero to explain or make it better. One of the worse I've seen in a while. Some disturbing and vile scenes tossed in for shock value but only make the time wasted watching it more regretted.
Sweet Home Carolina (2017)
A perfect movie to watch during a drinking game.
Same boring story told a million times. Take a shot everytjme the mom puts her hand on her face. Your gonna be wasted by the end of the movie.
Charlie's Angels (2019)
Banks is no Bill Murray
Another example of reboot gone wrong. It tried so hard to force the bad ass chic thing that no time was taken in character development. None of them were the least bit likable.
V-Wars (2019)
Started off good then down hill
Another Vampire series? Really! But I gave it a go. I'm a big time binge watcher so I find myself with little options as I watch anything that looks interesting quickly then I'm looking for more. I was excited to see A new series to watch but it turned into an ok concept done before executed so poorly that the enjoyment came in pointing out all the ridiculous errors in continuity and the poor attempt at bringing some Vampire tropes into what was an attemp at a modern day Vampire story. If you enjoy watching movie that are so bad you can't stop watching then this is for you.
Black Summer (2019)
Another Netflix disappointment with no likable characters
Another Netflix disappointment. 8 episodes and didn't build an affection for any of the characters, but I sure felt a strong dislike for the main characters and all her stupid discussions.
Tales from the Hood 2 (2018)
Seriously?
I get we are close to an election but we have enough garbage in the way of political messages to deal with than to sit down to be entertained and instead watch more GARBAGE masked as entertainment! Worst thing ever!
Venom (2018)
Match made in heaven
Like Downey was made to play Iron Man, Hardy was made to play Venom. I think it was a smart choice not to have the rating R that was originally considered because more Marvel fans can enjoy it in the theaters.
Hold the Dark (2018)
Netflix Fails again!
This had so much potential. It could have been a crime drama, a psychological thriller or a sci-fi but it ended with dozens of unanswered questions and the viewer just asking why did I just waste two hours. Netflix is epically failing in content lately and this movie is another example.
The Competition (2018)
Bad hair overshadows the lame story
Main character's bad hair distracted me through the entire movie which wasn't hard since the acting was poor and the story itself was same overplayed thing seem a million times.
The Strain (2014)
Started off good
Writers got lazy is the best way to explain. Started off good but The last season was horrible.
