Animal (2023)
Among Bollywood's Top Action Movie
"The Animal" stands out as a remarkable film, rich with themes of love, desire, and conflict. It conveys an important message: the criticality of not overlooking the emotional needs of our children. The film touches on how neglect can lead to dire consequences, emphasizing that children offer unconditional love, and the lack of attention might push some to the brink. It underlines the significance of finding a harmonious balance between work and family life, delving into the series of events that unfold from failing to achieve this balance.
The direction of the film is truly impressive. From the nuanced delivery of lines to the authentic portrayal of scenes, the director's craft shines through. Unlike the exaggerated action sequences seen in movies like "Gol Mal," "The Animal" opts for a more grounded approach, save for a singular moment featuring an over-the-top customized machine gun. In line with action movie traditions, the film ensures that its heroes remain invincible against all odds.
Overall, I believe "The Animal" to be one of Bollywood's finest action films to date, notably for its restrained use of CGI, offering a more realistic viewing experience.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
A great movie, new story buildup!
"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" felt to me like a fresh restart of the Black Panther saga, perhaps explaining the somewhat tempered ratings by those expecting a direct continuation. Its introduction to the new phase was underscored by a captivating storyline, especially with the depiction of the people of Talokan. However, when it came to the undersea visuals, the comparison with James Cameron's "Avatar" is almost inevitable, where the latter arguably captured our hearts with its ethereal beauty. The representation of the city underwater might have felt a tad underwhelming, but I surmise this could be attributed to the narrative's stronger emphasis on Wakanda. My anticipation tells me that Talokan might soon get its own dedicated film or series, broadening the universe even further. A poignant observation for me was the portrayal of the leadership's response to Black Panther's death, which seemed to overshadow the communal emotions of Wakanda's citizens. Nevertheless, while the movie felt a bit stretched in its runtime, it undeniably sets an intriguing foundation for what's to come.
Satyaprem Ki Katha (2023)
Good story with poor acting
The film's ascent to popularity can largely be attributed to the mesmerizing Pakistani song, "Pasoori." However, aside from this musical gem, the movie was quite underwhelming in most aspects. Addressing the deeply sensitive and critical issue of date rape and the nuances of consent, the theme of the story was poignant and vital. This subject might have struck a profound chord with countless individuals who could relate or empathize with the narrative. But when scrutinizing the bigger picture, it was evident that both the direction and the acting were subpar. Many scenes felt forced, and the characters lacked the emotional depth required to do justice to such a serious topic. The potential was palpable, but the execution failed to deliver. The direction, in particular, missed capturing the gravity and intensity of the plot, rendering the entire viewing experience somewhat lackluster.
Culpa mía (2023)
Step relationship theme from Pornhub impressed by 50 shades of gray!
The movie seemed to take inspiration from the popular "step" relationship themes common on websites like Pornhub, but it didn't show much of the explicit content. It felt like the creators were trying to blend elements from Fifty Shades of Grey with a unique Spanish touch, focusing on the relationship between a stepbrother and stepsister. Contrary to what one might expect given its themes, the film doesn't dive into explicit scenes. Instead, it showcases the lives of wealthy characters and delves into the complexities of their relationships. It's more about the emotions and drama about wanting to have sex and get into a relationship. Overall, it was just an ok time pass. Even if you missed watching it, it doesn't matter.
Heart of Stone (2023)
Female James Bond / Mission Impossible
Rewrite:
Mission Impossible made it for so long because it started with a little bit of reality in scenes (I mean they were not deflecting the laws of physics a lot), but then they started playing with physics. James Bond never played with physics even, rather showed extensive use of technology. This movie showed both- Deflection of physics plus the use of technology at its extreme. I mean I could absorb the fact of "The Heart" as a super quantum computer that can process tons of data - we have ChatGPT as an example, though it's still not using quantum computers. Just like ChatGPT, The Heart could have millions of data points to connect and give statistical data to have predictive information. But still, the movie was not digestive enough. The scenes jumping here and there. I mean I only has this going on the entire time that it's Gal Gadot featuring in Mission Impossible.
The Last of Us (2023)
Justified the original game
I wasn't expecting a series/movie to justify what actually happens in the game. All the movies or series that were ever produced based on the games were not able to justify the standards. HBO just showed the world that it's possible. What an amazing series and loved every part of it. I mean just look at the camera work and look at the surround sound/effects. They are all exactly like how they were shown in the game. Tess moved in the building and then opened the door - I mean wow! That's how the gameplay was. Then the shooting in Kansas City when they arrived. HBO raised the bar like all of their other tv series.
Most of the low rating and reviews are by the people who have no idea about the game and they are just trying to grasp the idea that what is going on in the series.
Laal Singh Chaddha (2022)
Forest Grump in Hindi
There's no much to tell about the story because it is the exact story of forest grump. Just be some events and scenes are localized but everything, I mean the base story is the same.
If we talk about the overall acting of the stars; then definitely, Amir Khan is a real great actor. He was seen fully indulge into the character of a Sikh. The way he acted and that same Three Idiots type characterization of Laal Singh.
Kareena Kapoor is without a doubt a great actress and she justified her role as well.
Generally there's nothing wrong in the direction of the movie. How could it be even? I mean most of the things which aren't recreated are exact copy from forest grump, like the children throwing stone on Laal and even the same exact scene where the boys doing it again in his college life.
Anyway! It's a good time pass (oh yea about time - it's a way lengthy movie).
Plan A Plan B (2022)
Can these actors learn acting?
Tamanna Bhatia should do something else. Open up a parlour or may be a boutique (if she can't mess up things there as well). I mean zero chemistry, zero emotions. It seems like she was forcefully wearing western dresses. She can't even carry them. Forcefully were wearing short dresses and all.
Predictable story from the beginning.
Not sure who spent the money on such a movie. Initially I thought Riteish Deshmukh would have spent money from his own pocket to make this movie. But I guess I was wrong, there were THREE producers. Haha, yes Three! Now all of them would be in debt because of this. May be Netflix should not allow movies from them again.
Shamshera (2022)
Same plot as many other movies
Wasted time.
It's predictable, same plot as many other movies such has bahubali, agnipat, etc.
I think you shouldn't waste the time on it if you already have seen those movies in the past, especially Agnipat. You can say, just simply replace Hritikh Roshan with Ranbeer Kapoor.
Only one song is better, romantic, and great video shoot. But the rest of them is just ok.
I don't know why movie makers just copy/paste something and then expect it to earn as well.
I gave it 4/10 rating just because of one song. Sanjay Dutt villan characters is good and I think he is known for it from Agnipat as well.
The Batman (2022)
Stretched, Less Terror, Less Action
I agree with one friend there that extra long useless scenes. Like the Catwoman and Batman says goodbye and that lengthy useless scene of them riding bikes. Similarly a lot of scenes were dragged, walking in slow-mo type. The length of the movie was too much. *Yawn*
The characters were built but not in detail. I have seen GOTHAM TV Series, so I knew all the characters. Alfred didn't do anything, just appeared in 2 short scenes. Ok and it was not about Batman. It all appeared about Gordon. Batman knew all the answers to the riddles, and was helping the GCPD as a forensic. Yes kinda like Flash.
Robert Pattinson played a nice role as Batman. Few of the scenes felt like we have Christian Bale back.
The Gray Man (2022)
Super Hero! Just like any other.
Ok so we had Mission Impossible, Bond 007, or even Jason Statham from Transporter. Here's another full action packed movie. Lots of bullets! Lots of stunts. Beating Captain America (Chris Evans)!
14 Phere (2021)
Predictable story
In the first 15-20 mins of the movie you can easily predict what is going to happen. Nothing impressive or thrilling. I wasted my time watching it actually.
Lahore Confidential (2021)
How could you just waste our time?
I regret wasting an hour of my life. Did they try to make a failed attempt of Indian Mr. And Mrs. Smith?
Hello Charlie (2021)
Don't waste time
A bad comedy and time waster. It's like the same kind of movie like Golmaal .. everyone is running behind everyone.
Indoo Ki Jawani (2020)
Only watch if you want to kill extra time
A movie without a story. Comedy to some extend but quite useless humor. Adding sexual chat and talks into the dialogues in a funny way doesn't make a good movie.
AK vs AK (2020)
An interesting story, looked real at some points
A very well done movie but in few scenes everything looked staged. Lost the touch of something like a reality TV. I mean FaceTime call never shows "Unknown" caller. It always show the number or the email address of Apple ID. The camera angles at some stages were clearly planned shots. The public interaction appeared very vague as well especially when Anil enters the Christmas party. At the end, the story became predictable. It is an interesting watch overall. Must watch.
Upstarts (2019)
Amazing India copied Silicon Valley TV Series
The exact similar type of characters with same outlooks. A nerd, a drunk guy and a hopeless CEO.
Amazingly copied Silicon Valley TV series.
Jexi (2019)
I actually liked it. Describes our future lives.
It totally explains how we all are and will get dependent on the AI assistances on our phone like Siri, Cortana, Bixi, and Alexa.
Halkaa (2018)
Acting at its best with good topic
One of the issues India faces a lot. It's like a taboo there to have toilet within the house. Most of them can't afford it. This movie highlighted all the social and financial aspect of the slums who can't afford to have a toilet.
Cake (2018)
Excellent Story but strange dark theme
The story of the movie is really powerful and reflect the reality of life. Basically it is a mixture of four stories. 1) Old Age, 2) Relationship between poor and rich and 3) How rich escape incidents, 4) How children leave old parents behind and if I can add No.5 that would be 5) How things haunt you in life.
The character of Dad and Mom was very powerful. How cheerful and happy their life is. But their children left them and settled at different places.
Dino Ki Dulhaniya (2018)
Emotionless Acting & Predictable Bad Script
The entire acting was emotionless. Sana Javed had such a simple face and it felt like words without any connection. She can't even give expressions. The script was poor in my opinion. May be the actual story was good but when converted into a movie script. It was really bad. The side roles were all dumb looking as well. Dino (Feroze Khan) acting was over-acting. Plain dialogs. Forced Emotions.
Overall: Poor Movie and Time Waster.
Hum Chale Aaye (2018)
Property Issues or Life Issues
The topic of the movie was very nice but unfortunately something was missing in there. Honestly I can't even point out the bad points much, but it was so quick. I felt it more like a single episode of a drama serial instead of a tele-film. The acting of Marina Khan and Hina Dilpazir were really nice. Madiha Imam was looking gorgeous too. Overall experience, I would say 5/10. Ok, one thing to learn from this film is that sometimes unspoken words can lead towards misunderstanding. So it's always better to speak up and tell the things in your heart to others to avoid all confusions.
Pinky Memsaab (2018)
The hard life people choose in Dubai
I think only the ones who lived in Dubai can understand the true meaning of this movie. The life changes over there and you get stuck in such a fantasy that you can't go back to your home country and you have to do everything to survive there. The movie showed the amazing side of the elite class and the maid. The music OST added a really nice touch to the movie. I really liked watching it.
Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)
Definition of BEST? Answer: GOT S08E03
I am literally in shock till the episode reached its last moments. And at the last moment I just burst out saying "OMG OMG OMG holy mother". I have no words to explain it even. It truly is the greatest event of the last decade. The world is in shock and will never forget it. It's been over 4 hours since I watched it and I can't stop thinking about what I saw.
