Mr. Woodcock (2007)
Not a total failure, but I think the trailer made promises it failed to keep.
I was pretty excited to see this movie because from what I saw it seemed really funny and I like Seann William Scott but I have to say I was sort of disappointed. Granted I went in expecting a funny stupid comedy but, it really wasn't all that funny. It seemed to me like they put all the funny scenes into the trailers and the rest of the movie was just filler. It's like they tried to be a really hilarious comedy but then towards the end they tried to take an emotional turn and by then I was pretty disappointed by the lack of hilarity that I didn't care anymore. And don't get me wrong, I did laugh, but I laughed at all the parts I had already seen in the trailers.
All in all, this movie wasn't a total failure, but I wouldn't bother watching it again.
The Hitcher (2007)
Definitely worth seeing in the theaters!

Okay, I figured this movie was on my mind so I would write what I thought about it. This is also coming from someone who hasn't seen the original so I had no bias going into the theater. This is strictly based on this movie, not how it compared to the original.
This movie was really, really good in my opinion. I enjoyed watching it, it drew me in. It was exciting and very appropriate with the gore and violence.
I hear a lot of bad things about how they never gave Ryder a motive and stuff like that but in my opinion I thought that was a really cool concept. Ryder is supposed to be this mysterious, nameless serial killer. He didn't need a motive and I think that was lost on a lot of people.
Anyways about the car chase scene, I thought that was a really awesome scene. Usually in movies when there is a chase scene the directors put this orchestra score to it. This movie had Closer // NIN behind it which I think added a really cool vibe to the whole chase sequence.
I think Sean Bean did a really good job as Ryder. He was creepy but in a "man I could pass anytime and not know he was completely insane" way.
So to sum up, I gave this movie a ten. Not because I think it's the next Oscar contender for Best Picture or anything but it was well done, the acting was good, the plot was pretty realistic I'd say. It was good fun to watch and yes I'll admit, the night car part when he breaks the glass made me jump and I would love to go see it again. That is my opinion on it anyways. It's definitely worth seeing in the theater if a good thriller is what you're looking for.
