War Machine (2017)

Well done liberal war flick
29 May 2017
Well done meaning that it was above par for a netflix movie. Other than that it was a bad release date soiling the memory of all those that served and never came home. As a former member of the U.S.Army ( Infantry and Air Defense ) I found this disrespectful. I tried to find any redeeming value in this movie and found none... none at all. I always knew Rolling Stone was a hard leaning leftist rag but this Michael Hastings guy takes it over the top. The jist is a Obama fan boy screwing over a career military man because he does not agree with Obama or how the civilian involvement in Afghanistan has derailed any chance for a military victory. Thus all the lives, sacrifices and American dollars flush down the toilet simply because the left does not want the American military to succeed anywhere. Thus a petty knife in the back ( the article published ) as the operation is just starting. Of course interjection of a incident where a child dies to further push the anti-war theme. Utter garbage, glad I watched it for free. and now only feel that Michael Hastings needs a swift kick to the balls.

MTV generation post apocalypse death fest
24 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I'd like to give it a higher score but the randomness of the events and actions are amazingly stupid. Given the characters are all murdering psychopaths it's hard to pick out who is the right person to cheer for. Much of the show revolves around the mistakes the characters make on a regular basis. After awhile it gets rather old. Additionally all the random deaths of the main characters makes Game of Thrones seem tame in comparison.

Outcasts (2010–2011)
Typically lame Brit Sci-fi
27 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Looking for a good sci-fi show I randomly found this one and was disappointing. The first mistake was killing off a main character that was going to make things interesting. Then turns into a very low tech drama fest that falls short of expectations.

overall unless you have nothing else to dive into it's not worth the watch.

Color me impressed!

Killjoys and Dark Matter need to take a hard look at the quality of this show if they want to compete.

If you are looking for a solid, smart sci-fi show this is it. It has the grit and dirt of Battlestar Galactica with a deep plot. Not only is the CGI excellent for a TV series but the "space tech" and acting as well.

Several different aspects ( locations, environments ) to this show in make it rather pleasing to watch. The Dirt and filth of the slums to the various types of star ships to Earth and the privileged class.

If you want to watch a solid science fiction show this is it!

Interesting but fall short

Warning: Spoilers
*** Contains Spoilers ***

What ruins this for me is knowing the basics of the World War. So if you throw all that out the window including any mention of the involvement of the UK or Russia I guess it makes an interesting story.

I'm nine episodes into the story and the "had enough drama" meter is pegged. While Uniforms, the general look of the world and costume design is excellent for a web TV series and the acting is on par I still have to give the details of the story line a huge negative five stars.

  • The main characters do not seem to be in love or passionate. - Some of the props to not fit the time line. - Highly fictitious "America rolls over and gives up story line" is too far fetched without proper explanation. The only reference is one nuclear bomb dropped on Washington D.C and apparently the wholesale slaughter of Americans. That seems to continue with little notice. We also give up all of our weapons and have little to no resistance fighting going on.

Additionally nine episodes in and there is nothing that explains the origin of the films ( which the whole show revolves around ) that are somehow "found" that show future events. I'm thinking there is a some sort of sci-fi time machine element here but nine episodes in it has yet to really been shown of why or how these films are being produced, who is producing them or how they are going to help change this time line.

Mixed elements make it an interesting watch.
10 October 2015
This show simply needs to be on Showtime / Starz or HBO to really make it 100%. I think it has potential but not for the NBC crowd.

If you like Action you will like this show. Interesting concept, likable characters set in a world of underground crime elements that could be plausible. Sure it's not realistic but it is interesting entertainment.

The plot is a interesting what if of can crime be gambled on.

Elements of good tactical gun work.

Good physical hand to hand skills.

Some tech mixed in with gun play and car chases suggests how our everyday tech can be used against us or for us.

Overall a fun to watch mini series.
