The Goldbergs (2013)
One of the best shows ever
As a '70s baby/'80s teenager I can totally relate to this throwback sit-com. Happy endings that revolve around family drama and life lessons make this something worth watching in the midst of a negative and political world. GenX '80s pop-culture reigns and Boomer parenting is on full display. I appreciate the story telling and the real life endings with Adam's family in the earlier seasons being an adjective to the story. It's nice to have real life people in the Goldberg family make cameo appearances. It's also nice not to deal with political correctness of the 2020's and I do appreapcte the niceness that was actually a part of the best decade ever. Thank you Adam Goldberg for a leak into your life and a walk back into the '80s!
Reggie (2023)
Unapologetically REGGIE
Understand something, Reggie was all about team and making sure he was on the same playing level as every other person. I loved the story as a Yankee fan but more importantly I loved the story about his humanity and culture. Great insight into his opinions, heart and mind. I would recommend this documentary to anyone, not just Yankee fans and baseball fans. Everyone needs to hear another person's story and struggles to shed light on the bigger picture that happens beyond self. The fact that people can't hear and listen to someone who brings something different to the table is just plain wrong.
FBI: The Lies We Tell (2023)
COVID 19
Great episode until it wasn't. Always good acting and great stories. But... We don't need another reminder of COVID let alone a "super strain 1000 times stronger than the original that could kill millions of people." Cmon Hollywood, you can do better. We saw millions die and of course seeing it is enough. It affected all of us as we saw dear friends and family have co-morbidities die from this thing.
We dvr our programs and as soon as the "scientist" said what was stolen, we deleted the episode. There doesn't need to be masks, mentions of vaccines, nor "super strains." Thank God for the ability to turn it off.
Miami Vice (1984)
Ahead of its time
Miami Vice was my absolute favorite 80's show as a kid. Can't get any better. Great acting. Great music. Great scenery. Great stories. Quintessential 80's!!!!
The Glades (2010)
Almost perfect til it wasn't.
What a great show. Full of action, intrigue, beautiful scenery and of course a good cop and romance story. Writers seemed to stick to the original idea of the show and always liked the acting. Most times I could not predict the ending which is good. All good until the shown became NO MORE for whatever reason. Oh well. That's TV business. Cancelled unexpectedly after the cliffhanger last episode.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
As good as 1
Very well done in perfect accordance to the first one. Great story line and ended with an option for a 3rd movie.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008)
Fills in some holes
Helps with the continuation. The sound is underwhelming. The video is not great but again the story does help.
Fathers & Daughters (2015)
Good start. Not good end
Up til 12 mins left it was very good. After that, not so much. The end was incomplete to say the least.
The Breakfast Club (1985)
None like it
TBC = GOAT Perfectly told of the American suburban 80's high school experience.
Peppermint (2018)
Action doesn't stop
Great movie because it has hard hitting action, great audio on your 7.1 surround and even though some may say it's not an original story, the stories within the story are original. Jennifer Garner is awesome and she carries the supporting actors. Audio quality is very clear, hard hitting bass and surround separation is very good. Part Taken, part Salt, part Payback! Jennifer Garner does very well.
