Brilliant! Brilliant!!
24 October 2008
Here i am standing up, clapping hand, giving Khabir Bhatia all the credit he deserves. Totally brilliant to the core. I could even say that this movie superseded Khabir Bhatia previous works and should be the guideline for other Malaysian movie makers.

We could see the tedious works Khabir Bhatia's teams put into making this movie. The camera angle is beautiful. For instance, that small flocks of bird flying just at the right moment to enhance the audience. Or maybe that beautiful butterfly coupling together near the lake. The blurring of other actors while focusing on the main actor. The angle that was took from that small opening on the door while focusing entirely on the actor - that was brilliant!

The acting. Aflin Shauki who play Adam was excellent! His face character acting is beyond doubt the most beautiful in sense of feeling. I am very confident that he's going to take the Best Actor again for this year. I always like Aflin Shauki. He just prove that it's talent that count on this business rather than look.

Baizura Kahar who play Imaan is an actress to be reckon with in the future. Her acting is like she's on stage; more to a theater acting but, i am sure with Khabir Bhatia guiding, she emerge tremendous well on this movie.

Tony Eusoff who play Sufi is none the less, quite a surprise actually, good and very convincing. I never really follow his portfolio but after SEPI, i reckon that i will.

At first when the movie show Pierre Andre who play Khalil, i was, like, what's with the McDreamy's acting. Why he is so passive and why he is acting like a clog. Your lines was very limited and you more like doing that facial thingy - smiling, eyeing and that sort. I was almost very disappointed with him BUT then in the end it will show why he is acting like that. At last, nearing the end of the movie, i have to give Pierre the pat on the back. I am sorry for putting my judgement too early. Well done. Superb performance.

The storyline. Gosh! Look.. i am not going to spills the beans because it will definitely destroy the surprise or maybe surprises in this movie. Believe me when i said that you'll be glad that if you were to see this movie. The entwining between scene and stories was brilliant. And again i repeat, should be the guideline for all Malaysian movie makers. I can only say that, if you think that you know the ending (like most Malaysian Movie - predictable), you'll get a shot of trills with this movie.

Brilliant work. I recommended it 100%. Surely the best movie of this year.

My Sassy Girl (2008)

Nice heart felt movie
17 September 2008
It's easy to be cynical about Hollywood's efforts to remake Asian hits for an Amrican audience when the results are as poor as they are here. A lacklustre effort that fails to generate even a smidgen of the Korea original, 'My Sassy Girl' falls flat on almost every count.

It's surprising, actually, given the talent involved. Yann Samuel, who directed the devilishy funny 'Love Me If You Dare', helms the picture, and it stars Jesse Bradford as well as the lovely Elisha Cuthbert. They're all good in their own rights, but somehow the chemistry never quite works.

'Love Me If You Dare' had a similar premise, actually, and it's surprising that Samuel never quite finds the right tone here. Neither he nor his actors ever get into a comfortable rhythm.

First Maq.

Love (I) (2008)

Excellent Movie
17 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Another brilliant production by the Malaysian gifted Director; Kabir Bhatia. This movie has to be compared to CINTA; also a product from Kabir himself. The plot is almost the same with a few changes only. By comparison; Nugroho (Sophan Sophiaan)character didn't really meet my expectation and totally not convincing which by far, out of reach compare to Cikgu Elyas (Rahim Razali) in CINTA.

Restu (Irwanshah) is almost very stiff. I know he's trying to show how miserable life is for him but compare to Taufiq (Mohd Pierre Andre) in CINTA, he still got a lot to learn of being sad and frustrated.

For this movie; i give triple thumps up to Dinda (Bella Shapira) acting. She's really into her characters and bring the point up on what's this movie all about. She's by far the one to see here.

In conclusion, i still prefer the Malaysian version of this movie. But this movie do deserve the credit by merit. I should have judge it as it's own without comparison. Personally i give the movies an 8. It's a must see. You will not regret it.

Felon (2008)

Great
17 August 2008
I do like the action very much. Everything seem moving fast.. there's just no stale moment. The fight scene is awesome and the felons were very convincing. The plot was very well executed. I loves it. But i have to say i don't like the 'cloverfield's effect. It felt like i'm gonna vomits looking at the shaking effect. I know it suppose to bring the humph to the movie but guys, common.. there's no need for that effect if you just receiving the paycheck (beginning of the movie).I would like to highlight the details taken by the team for making it so real..example.. the dirty toilet and the tattoo on the felon actors. All in all, it's a good movie to watch. I recommend it.

The Best Malaysian Movie Ever
7 March 2007
This movie really touch the inner core of loves by it own sensed. Carefully directed and brilliantly displayed by Kabir Bhatia. I will be looking for your future works. I also would like to congrats Fatimah Abu Bakar for her excellent acting. Her northern slang really add value to the movie. All the other actors and actress are incredibly outrageously EXCELLENT in everywhere you see it. My hat goes to you guys. This is by far the most excellent movie from Malaysia. I am hoping to see more quality movie as CINTA in Malaysia's movie market in the future. This movie will ground a lot of awards this years and if that doesn't materials.. well.. you might as well boycotts the awards ceremony all in all. But I stand my ground of giving my best recommendation to this movie. I dedicates this movie to my very special love from KEDAH, Malaysia.

Won't Waste My Money On It
22 February 2006
Look. I am a Shauki's fan.. big time. His acting on this movie is great and my salute also goes to Han Isaac. As for Awie.. well.. he is as he is. But I have to say that A.C Mizal acting is the worst of all the movie that he have acted. But then again he can't act actually. I keep on wondering why people keep on hiring him.

Anyway, the movie starts good with narration and it do indeed drag you "into" the movie. But it fizzed out in the middle of the movie. The comedy doesn't work. The fighting scene is too unreal for Shauki's creativity standard. People who got shoot on this certain frame become instantly cured on the next frame. Incredible. Uncle Wong aims was good when it come to hitting head considering that he is blind. And the "keronsang" is another matter. It's so small that it seem like it was brought from "Pasar Kutu" Like i said before. Lousy movie with lousy comedy. It didn't reached the advert nor the expectation. Better luck next time Shauki.
