Hideaway (1995)
Watchable.
The average score of this movie is about 5.3 I thing and that's probably right. A lot of people think this movie is God awful and even Dean Koontz himself wanted his name removed from it. I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to movies so it has to be a train wreck for me to hate it. The biggest difference between the movie an d the book is the daughter. In this movie they added a daughter named Samantha who was killed before the film takes place. Their other daughter is 15 year old Regina played by Alicia Silverstone. In the book Hatch and his wife had no children and adopted Regina who was handi-capped.
I do have to say the villain Vissago played by Jeremy Sisto was pretty goofy at the end. If you're a wrestling fan he acted like and even kind of looked like Broken Matt Hardy. I was almost expecting him to look at Hatch and cry " DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!"
Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988)
My favorite in the series.
This is one of those movies I can watch 100 times and never get tired of it. Lar Park Lincoln is wonderful as Tina and she's probably the only final girl I ever rooted for to beat Jason. This was also the first time the great Kane Hodder played Jason. To me it's the best looking depiction of him as a walking corpse. His spinal cord is showing and all of his wounds from previous films are visible. I hate how everyone always calls this Carrie vs Jason. I mean Stephen King writes a famous story about a girl with telekinetic powers and he owns the idea? Any female character that has these powers is considered a Carrie rip off?
Walker, Texas Ranger (1993)
5.5 rating? Anything below 8 is a joke.
This is probably one of the greatest shows to ever be on television. I mean my God, Chuck Norris is in it, that should give it an automatic 7 to begin with. If someone doesn't like the action and awesomeness of this show, they are beyond help. Every episode is action packed and always leaves you with a smile on your face. Most of the bad reviews are mostly long winded and likely by people who love to read their own voice as much as they like to hear it.
Big Driver (2014)
Sweet revenge
I watched this film the first night it premiered on lifetime. I was pretty surprised at the graphic rape scene, but this was used to built up your absolute hatred of the villain and cheer your guts out for the victim. It stays interesting throughout and without going into detail, the ending is completely satisfying.I'm sure this film has some low ratings just because of the sensitive subject it highlights, but I've always been a firm believer in showing the dark side so you can see the darkness be vanquished. Also, the more graphic it is, the more you tend to sympathize with the victim and want even more for them to accomplish their goal of getting even.
Leprechaun 4: In Space (1996)
LOL at the low rating
Ahh, when I clicked on this movie I knew it would be full of horrible reviews by people who try to take the movie too seriously. I mean it even has comedy in the description. I've seen people talking about bad special effects. Seriously? You're watching this movie for the special effects? If you're a fan of the Leprechaun movies you're going to like them silly as some of them are. Just about ALL horror movies are lucky if they have over a 6 rating because only certain people appreciate them. This movie did all I need a movie to do. Entertain me, give a tiny bit of suspense and make me laugh. Given that Warwick didn't have as many clever one liners in this one, but still an enjoyable movie. If you're a die hard or even a casual horror fan, it is worth watching.
